You really can learn a craft from a book.

At least basketry for this how-to. There are lots of black-and-white pictures and diagrams to show how to manipulate materials by hand and come out with a decent basket. Then we take it further with natural dyes. And what is this? Lids and handles. Looks like lots of Christmas presents this year.
