The Amplified New Testament was published by the Lockman Foundation and Zondervan Publishing House in 1958, with the Old Testament in two parts in 1962 and 1964. The entire Amplified Bible was first published in 1965.
Though the context is understandable in a different way, there is no way to navigate to a different book via the navigation menu. Great use of English language words! Without recognizable book identifiers, I got confused what I was actually reading. Verse numbering is mixed with chapter numbering via text-to-speech causing more confusion.
Verses are out of sequence. Almost random. Chapter headings are meaningless. No evidence of indexing even to the start of a book, Genesis, Exodus... I'm using the kindle app for Android on a Galaxy Tab E. ymmv.
I bought this at a resale shop (formerly Salvation Army). It has some minor markings. I would guess it was a "spare" Bible at a church.
For myself, I would use it as an expanded study-style Bible. I try to understand what the Bible is saying, and having each word or phrase explained immediately is an advantage. I don't think I'll be using it as a primary Bible, but it will be useful.
