Roxy is back in the city, having been dragged there by her previously absent father. She's less than happy about being in the city where her long held crush still lives. And when she sees him outside the confessional booth in church, actually looking at her the way she'd always wanted him to look at her - she can't quite believe it's really Ace viewing her like she's a desirable woman when he's always looked at as a little sister at best, an annoying pest at worst.

I liked being a part of blog tour, so I decided to scroll down some ARCs that were available for request in Netgalley. I saw the second book for Brooklyn Brothers there and I loved the cover and even though I knew it had friends to lovers couple I decided to give it a chance. I mean mafia romance? Count me in. I didn't really think I'd be accepted but I did. I haven't requested many ARCs but this one is the very first I was accepted.

*ARC kindly provided via NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.*

I love mafia romances! So, when Jamsu told me that she got accepted for this ARC, I thought to give it a try as well. This was my first book from the author.

Roxy and Ace’s relationship is a very complicated one. Anything between them is doomed from the start because of their families. Ace’s family, the Rosettis, stepped out from the New York syndicate years ago. However, he never stopped caring for her. Roxy had a crush on Ace for ye

I liked this book much better than the first one even though it started off a little slow. This book was full of drama and chaos. Ace and Roxy find themselves in a Romeo and Juliet plot line. Roxy naive, innocent girl while Ace is all alpha male. I love, love these two together!! I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!

You can never lose with a Melanie Munton book!  Her characters are strong and sexy, her plots are hot and intriguing, and she always throws in a twist or two to keep it interesting. After all, the mafia is an unpredictable bunch.

When Roxy is basically dragged back to New York by her father, Vincenzo D'Angelo, she is furious. It's not the first time he's controlled her life, but not anymore. She is going to live her own life by getting an internship at the hospital a few blocks from the man she h

So here we are.... in book two of the Brooklyn Brothers series. This one following Roxy and Ace's story. Their story of a hidden, forbidden love between two families who are not to be associated together at all. There are the five mafia families - used to be six before the Rossetti family had been exiled. Nobody was to have any sort of relationship with the Rossetti's if they didn't want war to rain down upon them. That's why it was so hard for Roxy when her father demanded her to return home. Ace you love-struck fool!

A quick summary here

This book is the first book I read by Melanie Munton and I really enjoyed it. This book is the second one in the Brooklyn Brother's series. It can be read as a standalone.

This book is told from duel points of view from Roxy and Ace. I like duel format books because I like hearing what each character is thinking.

Ace and Roxy are from different mafia families. Roxy was best friends with Ace's sister when they were younger. She had a big crush on Ace growing up, but he always treated her like his

I recieved an advanced ereader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via #netgalley and #melaniemunton .

This book is the first book I read by Melanie Munton and I really enjoyed it. It is the second in the Brooklyn Brothers series. It goes between two views, Roxy ( whose family is still part of the "5 Mafia families" that originated in Sicily) and Ace(whos family was one of the original "six Mafia families" from Sicily, but his family has been ousted for many years now. )

I really enjoyed this book. It definitely kept me turning that page and putting off sleep at night just to finish it.

When the book starts off it is rather slow to really get into the book. I struggled through the first few chapters because I was trying to understand what was going on. There was a book before this one that maybe had some insight into it but I never read it so I was at a handicap.

However, Roxy and Ace were fire honestly! Once I understood what was going on I really started to devo

I was expecting this story to be a bit more exciting and captivating, with a bit more angst and banter, and a bit darker, however, there was still some danger, suspense and action that made my heart anxious, it was steamy and there was a good chemistry between Ace and Roxy. I felt heart-break and pain, but also satisfaction for the HEA that I rooted for as I very much liked seeing them together.

The book was written in dual POV - Roxy and Ace (Alessandro - OK, so I love his full name).

Roxy is best friends with Ace Rosettis' little sister, so she's always been off limits to him, though she's harbored a secret crush, but finally accepted that it would never happen. She leaves for college, and is gone for 5 years, but when she gets back home with her family, Ace sees her in a new way. Ace never thought there would be an attraction to her, and yet, there they are. There's a very intense chemistry, but still, there are a ton of complications. The secrets that are coming to light a ...more

I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The second book in the series, but that does mean they need to be read it order. I like this one more than the first, in part because Ace unlike his brother Cris didnt come off as a possessive ass. The Rossetti's are the sixth family exiled from the Italian mafia in New York. The Sicilians are coming to New York to deal with the situation are the imprisonment and the death of the last 2 leaders of the mafia. The mafia also w ...more

Goodreads ARC review. This was my first book by Melanie Minton. Although I loved the story premise and the characters, I had a hard time with the small details especially the weapon details. Please, if you’re going to explain the use of certain guns do research. No one that has ever shot a gun would use a .22 as a primary weapon or say how much damage it does. A .22 would only be used as a target gun or small vermin and/or rabbit gun. A ex-special forces or mob member would never use one as thei ...more

4 stars for Roxy and Ace romance.

Ace is very much protective of Roxy since she was little, protective as of little sister. But he could not believe his eyes when she returns home and to find a hot and curvy woman in front of her. Now he wanted her. But something happened on vacation which is bad and Roxy is still mad but here's the catch she loves-hate him.

"Keep calling her names, asshole. I've got all
Sissy's Romance Book Review
Scars and Sins by Melanie Munton is book Two in the Brooklyn Brothers Series. This is the story of Roxanna "Roxy" and Ace. I have read the previous book which helped me to enjoy this one but I did feel you could make it a standalone book if you wish to do so. Roxy was the annoying little friend of his sister and was off limits to him. Then their families became enemies and Roxy who had a crush on him ended up leaving to go to college. Now after about 5 years her father has called her back home. ...more
This story is told from dual POV's, Ace's and Roxy's. It starts very slowly to the point of annoying. Its bogged down in unnecessary details, overly descriptive and mind-numbing. I suspect many will DNF (did not finish) this book because it's so hard to get past the beginning. I struggled through as I had an arc to review. Even once we get into the action, it didn't appeal to me. I found Ace to be too possessive crossing into a stalker and Roxy was immature and naive. In my opinion, this book is ...more

Dang! Talk about chaos and drama! Ace and Roxy find themselves in the thick of it all. These are the families they were born into so it’s not like they have many choices to make. The ones they do make could cause major issues and it’s left to them to decide what is right for them in the end.

It’s another Romeo and Juliet moment in this book between Ace and Roxy. They are just trying to make it out alive in their story.

The next book is going to be explosive just knowing how his one ended. Now wh

All Grown Up

I’ve always loved a story about a girl who grows into a beautiful, sexy woman and the man from her past is knocked back when he sees her again. Roxy is smart and a perfect match for Ace. Most importantly, she’s grown up and she’s not the pig-tailed, little girl who blindly follows Ace around anymore. Roxy makes Ace work for her attention, provides him with a little challenge. I enjoyed their story as well as the further progression of the Rossetti/mafia drama.

Wow I think I loved this read better then the first in the series. This series is just getting better and better. Roxy is such an innocent naive girl before Ace, and holy Ace is pure alpha. Especially where Roxy is concerned. Loved these two together! So many more secrets come out in this read I can't wait to read more about this family.
