Wow, what a fabulous new series from Jordan Ford. Definitely one of the best YA romance authors that hooks you and pulls at your heartstrings and plays with your emotions

In this novel, we read and learn about the lives of 3 different people, Harper, Tane and Stacey. Each are all different but after a horrible incident they are connected by one thing, pain.
Some are emotional pain, while others are on grief and anger. Some wish to forget, while others wish to pretend

A new YA contemporary romance series by a new to me author. It was one of those "Kindle Unlimited made me do it" kinda one-clicks. A good one, too. One of the best YA storylines I've read in quite a while. There's a ton of angst, but it is soothed some by really funny and witty banter. If you're looking for sizzling and steamy sex on display, you won't find it here. But you will find a lot of heated glances, hormones running amuck amid some hot make-out scenes and several fiery kisses that make ...more

Wow what a read! This one was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. I've been excited about this series since the author first mentioned the concept and now that it's finally here I was so excited and also a bit afraid it wouldn't live up to the expectations in my head. But it did, it was such a great read.

City Girl vs Country Boy follows the story of a group of teenagers. It's quite the unique set-up. There are three families and

Twins Stacey and Bianca have just lost their parents in a car accident while on holiday with their best friends, as good as family. The same accident that took Harper, Willow and Oscar's parents. All these 5 have now is each other, their appointed guardian Beck, and his son Tane. (miss me with the "he's not his biological or adopted son" stuff)

- set in New Zealand
- recently orphaned siblings

This series is going to be a winner for me, the first one had me glued to my kindle. A tragedy changed the lives of these young teens, would it hold them together or tear them apart? Harper had Uni plans, life plans not mothering plans yet. Will she find love instead, her heart is already broken? I was holding back the tears reading this book. A fantastic read, can't wait for the rest of the series.

City Girl vs Country Boy is the first book in the Forever Love series, and we start with tragedy. Harper speaks to her mum only half an hour or so before they have a head on collision that changes the lives of so many.

Written mainly from Harper and Tane's point of view, but also with some from Stacey, this book was a delight to read, whilst also being very emotional. Harper is trying so hard to hold it together for everyone else, and yet is in desperate need herself. Tane can see the struggles s

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC and I am so happy to be one of the first to read this amazing new YA series. It was emotional from the get go and I was already grabbing for the tissues by the end of the first chapter. The realism was so honest and brutal and you felt like you were living the tragic loss along with these orphaned teenagers.

This was so much more than a country boy meets city girl teen romance. It's the first in a new series that sets the scene for what's to come. There are v

Wow, the feels. This book was so full of so many feelings that they assaulted my senses. I don't even know how to compute. I don't ever want to find myself into this kind of situation, it would totally break me.
It was beautifully written from 3POVs and they completed each other so well that it took nothing away from the story, it actually added so many angles.

Tragedy mars their beginning but this land, it heals. Harper believes in the power of a plan. Her plan is to go to uni with her best friends, study business, and enjoy her life. But a horrible car accident leaves her, her siblings, and her pseudo-cousins orphaned. Their parents' best friend is assigned guardianship over the entire lot of them and they all head to his rural cattle farm. There Beck and his stepson Tane do their best to welcome and comfort the grieving kids. Beck and Tane both came ...more

Her parents are on vacation when a tragic accident takes their lives and the lives of her parents closest friends. I received an ARC for a honest review. I have to say that Jordan Ford is one of my favorite authors and her books always get me a warm and hearty vibe. So City girl vs Country boy is set in New Zeland so some of the words were new to me specially because my native language isn’t English. But as always her stories are so well written that I literally devoured this. In this first book of this series we meet three families tied by loving laces that comes from the past. City Girl vs Country Boy is the first installment in Jordan Ford's brand new series, Forever Love and this phenomenally talented author delivers an emotionally captivating tale that will pull on all of your heartstrings. Trust me when I tell you that tissues are a MUST while reading this story...seriously keep a box or two close by.

Jordan always writes such great books. This one is full of emotion. Right off the bat you are hit with a very tragic moment. From there you are taken on a journey that will lead you on a path of adventure, heart ache and dealing with losing the people you love the most. Harper is the oldest in the group she is the one that deals with everything and tries the hardest to make everything work. She has her sister Willow and brother Ozzy who both aren't handling things well at all. Then there is Stac ...more

I really enjoyed this story! It is very well written and drew me in from beginning to end. These characters really grab you by the heartstrings early on and still have a hold on mine. This book is not complete. We follow multiple characters and the story does not end on a cliffhanger exactly, but not everything is resolved. Where we are left off was at the end of a stage, with a new set of circumstances upcoming that everyone will have to deal with. It was a good stopping place, even if all I wa ...more

You know that elusive book hangover we all long for? Jordan delivers that and so much more with City Girl vs Country Boy.
City Girl vs Country Boy consumed me from the very first chapter and it did not let me go until I finished the last page. The characters were brilliant, and the plot created a brilliant story. The well written story line and the well developed characters ho

A terrible accident. Five kids without family. Life will never be the same. A pact of forever love will be the answer. Beck, lost his wife and twins and in his grief he also lost his two best friends. But now he has to face the pact they made as a teen and take care of their families and Tane, his step son. Oh! Where do I even start...Let’s see-in this book, you have characters who have suffered tremendous loss that changes everything they have ever known. I have been not so patiently waiting for this book to release since the author first started talking about it and now the time has come where I can share it with you.

When tragedy strikes and three families become one, some major changes take place. After losing their parents in a car crash Harper and her two siblings along with Stacey and her tw

Heartrending and unimaginable. Three best friends, a tragedy, distance, misunderstanding, and another tragedy. Three families within a close knit group of friends suffering the most heartbreaking experience ever that have to learn how to not only breathe through that, but adjust to a new way of life.

Beck never expected to not have the opportunity to fix things with his friends, and he definitely did not expect their faith in him to look after things when tragedy strikes again. After the loss of

>Book Review – City Girl vs. Country Boy
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Forever Love series and ends in a cliffhanger. This book has a lot of characters whose lives all intersect. The story sets up the continuing plot, so the romance aspect is slow to arrive. There is a lot of loss in this book. The characters have to learn how to survive their losses. Family is not only blood relations and this story hammers that fact home as the teens all have to look to Beck as more

This is a sweet story that starts with a tragedy and really brings you to tears as everyone deals with what has happened. A young man who has had to learn how to grow up without his father, but with a father-figure, Beck. Tane works on a farm and is the typical "country boy", cows and all. But when all these girls land at the farm due to a horrible tragedy that struck them all, what will happen? Will he be able to cope with their snotty attitudes at times, or will he become completely unglued?

I enjoyed this story but I wasn’t expecting it to be such a tearjerker. I was crying even before the 5th chapter started.
I felt so bad for these kids and almost wasn’t expecting this to happen. I felt that there was almost to much description in this story and not enough dialogue. It seemed like I was skimming over paragraphs sometimes waiting for someone to talk or something to happen.
Becks is such a great guy to stand by these kids and take them under his wing. He’s also crazy considering ho

This is the beginning of another fantastic Jordan Ford's series.
When a traffic accident leaves Harper, Willow, Oscar, Stacey and Bianca orphaned, they are sent to live with Becket Connell, a man their fathers called brother, in the New Zealand countryside.
As they try to adjust to the new reality of their lives, Tane, who has decided to continue living with Beckett after his mother's betrayal, also needs to adapt to the new reality.
Harper wants to stick to her plans, but things don't go exactly a

Jordan Ford is an amazing writer, who manages to create new, fresh characters with every series she writes. This story is based in the writer's home country of New Zealand, and it is refreshing to have such a lovely story told in our very own land.

I love Harper. She's a beautiful soul, dedicated to her family. So like her mother in wanting what is best for her siblings, and like her father in her dedication to her goals in life.

Tane, a country boy with his broken family, is a lovely guy, so empa

City Girl VS Country Boy is a ya contemporary romance set in New Zealand, told in multi pov and the first novel in this series ends with a sort of cliffy as the lovestory continues into book two. I love the writing style and how this innovative novel is scripted. The wording includes New Zealand lingo creating a realistic effect. The narrative is swirling with unexpected twists. This is the first book in a new series. There are three point of views Harper, Tane, and Stacey. It’s about the lives of the three characters and a few others whose lives change drastically. It’s about high school loves, coming to turns with tragedies, and becoming a family. At first I thought having three point of views would be weird and awkward, but I loved it. I thought it works really well with this series. This book does not really have a cliff hanger, but the underlying storyline will be ...more
