Three Dog Night by Roxanne St Claire

2nd book in the Dogmothers series, which is a spin-off after the Dogfather series. Basically the grannies try matchmaking again. Can be read as a standalone contemporary romance.

Beautiful and sentimental. With three adorable puppies, a handsome Greek man, a huge mixed family, and a woman searching for her roots, you get love stories galore. Each heartwarming and tear worthy.
Don’t miss this one if you like romance, family love or even finding the right home f

My thoughts

Would I read more of this author? Yes

What more can be said for a cutie, and adorable romance that while will make you smile the entire time your reading it , nothing of course, because once you start reading it you get pulled into it and don't want to stop reading until the very end . With that said I want to thank Inkslinger for sending me a copy of it to read and review exchange for my honest opinion.

It's a showdown of the heart, Roxanne St. Claire style. Three Dog Night packs a ton of smiles with an adorable cast of furry friends, two meddling grandmothers and more than enough seismic energy to rock even the most stable of worlds. Alex and Grace are enemies with a passion for pushing each others buttons. When it seems as if fate keeps throwing them together, will that passion bubble into something more? The battle is on. The laughs are endless and the heart is real. ...more

I have been reading the wonderful Dogfather series slowly.  I love the combination of both small town and a big family making it warm and fun; the addition of dogs was just another big plus. It's set in North Carolina near the Blue Ridge mountains, too!  I have bought some of the books and now they seem to be so

If you loved The Dogfather series, (and if you don’t know what that is then you should really, really check it out!) then you’re gonna adore the second title in the spin-off, The Dogmothers, Three Dog Night. Really, all you need to know before picking up Grace and Alex’s story can be found in the Cover Description. Yet what that can’t tell you is how much you’re going to be emotionally invested in this story because Grace’s backstory is sure to bring a few tears to ey

Three Dog Night is a story that quickly grabs your heart and squeezes it tighter and tighter right until the very end refuses to release you for even a moment. I don’t recommend starting this book if you can’t finish it immediately, because you aren’t going to put it down once you start.  Alex and Grace’s story is so full of emotional turmoil that I honestly couldn’t stop the tears a few times and had my family and animals reacting to the tears. Graces past is heart-wrenching to be sure, but the ...more

Puppies, sexy chefs, a "lost" heroine, wineries, weddings, singing stars, big loving families, found loving families...what more could a reader ask for?! Three Dog Night pulls all kinds of emotional strings in the most fabulous ways. Alex Santorini is warm, compassionate, sexy and oh so romantic. Grace Donovan is an orphan who was passed from foster home to foster home and longs to know more about her family and why everyone seems to abandon her. In typical St. Claire fashion, there is a bit of ...more

Three Dog Night is a sweet, tender, often sad, and ultimately uplifting story about the search for and the meaning of family. Vintner, Grace, raised in the foster system has been disappointed so many times that she has built walls around her heart. Alex is working as the chef in his late father’s Greek restaurant, but his heart longs to go out and create his own recipes. This book had so many wonderful things going for it. The "Dogmothers" are matriarchs of their families--Jewish and Greek families that have been joined by marriage. There is a vinyard that is used as a wedding venue, lots of nosy caring family members, weddings, couples in love, a couple falling in love...and puppies!
Grace has been searching for family most of her life and has an event that needs a chef. Alex has more family than he can shake a stick at and is a chef that needs something more ch

Alex has put his dreams on hold out of love and loyalty to his family but when an opportunity emerges to be the chef at a winery he believes this is the chance he has been waiting for. Not only will it allow him to showcase his skills as a chef but spending time with Grace is an opportunity too enticing to turn down.

Grace was raised in foster care and dreams of love and family but doesn’t think that it will ever happen for her. She is attracted to Alex but she has been hurt so many times in her

This book was so sweet and I found that I couldn't flip the pages fast enough. Often while reading my heart broke for Grace and her past. She so wanted a connection with people, you could see it, feel it, so being around the clan that is Killcannon/Mahoney/Santorini was perfect for her. This clan absorbs people so easily and makes them feel like they have always been there.

Alex was perfect for Grace, his go with the flows ways helped loosen Grace up, show her that there is so much possibility i

This is a wonderful story of family, dogs, wine, food, and love. Grace has been searching her whole life for family, building walls around her heart each time she failed to find a place to belong. Alex is surrounded by more family than one can imagine, but doesn’t follow his heart as a chef due to a promise he made to his late father. Together they break down walls, explore new avenues, find love in three sibling puppies and each other, and discover that together, maybe they can both have what t ...more

One of my edits, out today (11/8/19)! Chef hero, winery owner heroine, and 3 stray puppies, this is another irresistible contemporary romance in Rocki's bestselling Dogmothers series.

(Note: A portion of the proceeds from Three Dog Night's first month book sales will be donated to Alaqua Animal Refuge, which is a no-kill animal rescue facility in the author's home state of Florida and is where the book cover image was photographed. ❤)

A Tail To Fall in Love With
This is another great read from Roxanne St. Claire. Three Dog Night is a stand-alone in the Dogmother series. I laughed and I cried happy tears with this one & very hard to put down. A super romance between a strong handsome Greek chef, Alex Santorini & a beautiful owner of Overlook Glen Vinyards, Grace Donovan. They met at Overlook while Grace was hosting the wedding reception of Alex’s mother Kate to Daniel Kilcannon.
There are 2 sub stories within the main story. Gr

I enjoyed Grace's and the puppies story but the rest was a bit disappointing. In this series I was hoping for more interaction and insights to the Mahoney & Santorini families. But once again we don't really see the dynamic of the family other than their interactions and time with the Kilcannon family. Alex is going through major changes in his life - romance & a change in career - but yet he doesn't even discuss any of it with his family especially his own twin brother who he's supposedly so cl ...more

A gripping romance & a little bit of a detective story.

The story f how Grace and Alex became friends then lover's. How Grace found three adorable very young puppies. How Grace and Alex met at the vineyard Grace owned whilst Alex's mother remarried.
It's a fascinating tale where you laugh a little and you cry a little, tears of sadness and joy. If this book is typically of this author then I can't wait too read more of her books.

Fun with a hint of sad

Grace has built walls around her heart because she was shuffled around in foster care, believing no one wanted her. When she butts heads with passionate chef Alex, she knows her life is about to change. But after finding 3 abandoned puppies and she’s offered a once in a lifetime event that could put her winery on the map, it may change in ways she never imagined!
I loved this book and would recommend it to everyone!

Three Dog Night

Alex had been flirting with Grace for sometime but she usually brushed him off. Grace was attracted to Alex but people never stayed so she kept her distance.

This is one of the weakest in this series thus far; I really didn't care for either Gracie or Alex. Grace is incredibly insecure and weak, and seems to find it impossible to accomplish anything without Alex, despite somehow having made it 30 years without him and established a moderately successful winery business. I just would have liked to see her grow in strength and confidence as the book and their relationship progressed, but instead she seemed to fade and grow more dependent on Alex. In ad ...more

I don’t know about you, but when I check out an author's bio, it’s usually because I’ve read a book I liked and wondered about the person behind it. Let's skip the formal bio and I'll give you the inside scoop on who Roxanne St. Claire really is.
