This was the first time I read a book by this author. Knowing it was part of the Misadventures series I knew it couldn't be bad. Plus I kept hearing great things about it I had to see what it was about. I'm so very happy I did. I love meeting new authors. I got introduced to Julie and she was so sweet. She told me to sign up for the arc and see if I liked it.

I freaking loved the book from the first page. I couldn't put it down one can't go wrong with a sexy firefighter who is so loving and in need of love. Cara god she is so relatable. Alot of women don't want to get close to anyone because of what has happened to them in the past. There is a part where she smacks someone I was screaming inside yes girl. Usually the female is hurt and doesn't defend herself. I loved how she did.

This book is filled with lol moments, sexy scenes and drama.

I think one of the most frustrating things about books is when you go into reading one and really want to like it, but you just ....can't. The premise of this book is great.... A Teacher falls in love with the parent of a student and they have to deal with the pitfalls of that along with developing a relationship. Unfortunately, the execution of that promising premise left a lot to be desired for me.

I don't want to be a Negative Nancy on something I'm sure the author put time and effort into, but I am going to highlight my biggest issues with the book. I also need to point out that I had an advance copy, so hopefully some of these issues were fixed before publication.

Editing/Consistency:
With an advance copy, I expect some editing issues and can typically over look them, but the tings I came across here should have been caught in the early rounds of editing - not in the final stages. The two big issues relate to the parents of the main characters. Early in the book Noah refers to his parents in the plural and indicates that "they" did something - we later find out that his father has been deceased for 10 years - meaning "they" couldn't have completed the previous action. We have something similar with Cara. She routinely refers to her parents in the plural, including discussing making plans with "them" only to discover in an intimate moment that he father has passed.

The Characters/their actions:
I found both Noah and Cara hard to connect with. Neither character seemed particularly genuine and the yo-yo effect they had going on was frustrating. There is one particular paragraph were they change their position on continuing to see each other 4 times in the space of 4 sentences. It made it hard to root for them.

The I Love you:
When we see Cara and Noah together, there is almost always an intimate situation. We get to spend very little time with them getting to know each other (but, we get a detailed description of the fire station and how Noah takes his tea), so it made the I love yous hard to buy.

Like I said, this was a book I wanted to like, but I just couldn't.....

The saying goes ‘there’s no smoke without fire’.... well this book is SMOKIN’ HOT!!

Meet Cara. From a wealthy family the world is truly her oyster, but she thrives as a kindergarten teacher and devoted herself to her job of passion.

Aside from work, Cara enjoys to let loose and love life. This carefree nature can be ideal except when your job that you love is put at risk because of it.

Meet Noah. A perfect specimen with dreamy blue eyes and a smile to thaw ice! This specimen of a man then reveals himself to be a firefighter and oozes more sex appeal than you could imagine!

Cara returns to work after the summer break with her best friend and work colleague Erin. Having shared a boozy night out in the club together they are ready for the new academic year but blurred lines can lead to destruction....

Noah and Cara both have their guards up but can they overcome this barricade or will their walls collapse on top of them defeated?

I couldn’t wait for a copy of this new misadventures book having read many of the others (all of which can be read as stand alone novels). I was certainly not disappointed!

Be sure to have icy water on stand by as this book will have you in flames!

I loved Noah and Cara's story. He's a sexy firefighter and Cara is a woman that knows what she wants. He was only supposed to be a one night stand, but once wasn't good enough for either of them. Noah and Cara had both been hurt and neither were looking for love when they found each other. Somehow things have a way of working out and for these two lovebirds things were looking pretty good.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. Great storyline and well written. Loved it.

***Spoilers...Not that many but a few***

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2020...

Okay. At the beginning of this book, it was ehhhh — kind of dry. After I kept reading, I wanted to know what else happens. Still, I was stuck in between what I felt for this book. This is why I gave it a four-star instead of a five like I do, mostly my books. With that being said...

I already knew that Erin was going to snitch when Noah kept coming to the school even when he volunteered in the class with Cara and his son... I mean, you look at it. They gave themselves away with how they were touching and making side-eyes. But they never touch when the kids were around... as Erin made it seem. But in the end; she was just jealous of Cara and what she had... her true colors came about when Cara started dating one of her students (Marshall) dad (Noah)... she wanted Cara position, but she didn't even get it.... she did what she thought Cara did to get the job that she had (**cough*** come on the principal)... what she (Erin) got was a kick out the door for doing what she thought Cara did. Karma got her good because she knew she was wrong for spreading lies...

I also thought it was crazy to have those rules of a teacher can't date students' parents. When in reality, Cara and Noah were talking way before he/she found out that she (Cara) was his (Marshall) teacher, and he was his father (Noah). In the end, I was glad that Cara got her job back, and she came to her senses about how she wanted to be with Noah regardless of what happened with her job!!!!!

The easiest read ever. If middle school approved porn literature it would be on that level. It was predictable and mostly focused on sex & an average story line.

It was a fun, easy afternoon read.

So, Julie Morgan is a new author to me, so I didn't know what to expect going into this... and I am glad I got the chance to read this. I love this series for this reason.. I have discovered so many new to me authors that I will go on to read more books by them, and I most certainly will be with Ms. Morgan.

Cara is a kindergarten teacher and after having her heart broken once before, she had focused her time on working hard and building a career for herself. She won't let anything or anyone get in the way of that... Well, that's what she has told herself... However, love and fate had other ideas.

Noah is a firefighter that has no issue getting any girl he wants. All he has to do is walk in the room and women fall to their knees in front of him. After having heartache in his life himself and now left a single dad and widower, he lives his life for his 6-year-old son. and his life is solely focused on his son, and so it should be.

One night out at a club these two cross paths, and a flame ignites between the two of them. They spend a passionate night together and what you think would be just a one night stand, turns into so much more when Cara realizes the hot firefighter she had an amazing night with is the father of one of her students... Which there are rules and regulations on anything other than a professional relationship with your students' parent/parents but will these two give into this undeniable desire they have for one another? Is Cara willing to risk her job on what could just be a fling? Or could this be something more?

You'll have to read to find out!

The chemistry between these two was on fire, intense and had me fanning myself constantly as I devoured this! It held a few elements I love most with some romances. It was forbidden, the heat was off the charts and it was two damaged hearts coming together as one and there is nothing I love more than two people who have had struggled but can find a happily ever after. I absolutely adored this new installment into the series and I am excited to see what else this author has up her sleeve!

It's a must-read and such an amazing addition to the Misadventures series!

When the Misadventures series first started, we all knew there would be growing pains. Well seems those pains were all for the good if we can take anything from Misadventures with a Firefighter. Julie Morgan brought us into a relationship unknown and hooked us with whit, compassion and lots of hot sexy action. What else could ya ask for?

Cara is independent, smart, successful and determined. But Cara has been hurt before and has shielded her heart from anything close to a relationship. Teacher or not, she knows where her future lies and is letting nothing get in the way of her achieving her heart's desire. But hey, even with all that on her plate, a girl still needs to unwind.

Noah is all alpha male. Strong, hard working, and a dad to add on to it. Noah’s life has not been easy and while he is respected and loved by all, he still has his own battles. Firefighters deal with so much more than people realize. Thank goodness this guy has a way of releasing those tensions. Of course who knows what can come from a misadventure when you least expect it?

Learning friend from foe can be a very costly lesson sometimes. These two fortunately are able to learn and grow together through all the turmoil. Oh and did I mention the sex is amazing.

Misadventures with a Firefighter is one hot story. Julie Morgan brings all the sexiness. She also grabs the heartstrings and twist the hell out of them with all the activity between these two. Just a dang fun story and worth all the stars I can bestow.

Julie Morgan is a new-to-me author, and she did not disappoint.

I really enjoyed the story between Cara and Noah. It was sexy, and full of heart and emotion. There were some moments where I felt like it tried to be angsty but didn't quite pan out that way.

I loved Noah's relationship with his little boy. You could feel the love between them.

The arc and pacing of the story worked well and our characters had great support systems from their families. I also liked how unashamed Cara was with her sexuality. She wasn't shy and meek.

Overall, I would read this author's work again and recommend the read.

Cara well Kindergarten vixen I guess all things come to those that wait and fight for what they want. A guarded heart helps if you shield it from the right people. What you learned was a lesson of love, friendship, and an open heart. Noah and Marshall taught you that and more. Noah taught you how to never give up and to believe in love and you two as a unit. Marshall taught you that a bond between a parent and child doesn't mean there is not room for one more.

This was my first book by Julie and she delivered the spicy Firefighter story I miss and love. She combined love with lost perfectly. Demonstrating a second chance is not something to fear or feel guilty about but to embrace and pursue. The best part for me in this book is that not everyone is for you or your cheerleader. There is always green eyes afoot.

Noticing a hot firefighter across a bar turns into a night fueled by passion for Cara and Noah. They both feel an instant connection with hopes of it becoming so much more. When one of her kindergarten students ends up being Noah's son the relationship needs to end immediately. But the sparks do not end. Can the two hide their relationship to save her job? Will they end up with a HEA despite the rules and regulations that are against them? With characters that are totally relate-able and a storyline that might be a quick read but really packs a punch this is another great read in the series.

Noah and Cara will bring all the heat. Once chance encounter leads to a complicated mess.
Cara is a school teacher with the hots for one certain fire fighter who happens to be the father of one of her students
Noah is a smoking hot fire fighter with the hots for his sons teacher.
Will Noah and Cara end up together or will this situation cause them to end before they can even see where this can go.
If you want the answers then you need to read this 5 star book.

Misadventures with a Firefighter by Julie Morgan is smoking hot and incredibly sweet. Firefighter Noah Hughes is a widower and single dad. Cara Murphy is a New York City kindergarten teacher with scars on her heart. But when these two get together it is HOT. I really enjoyed this story but recommend a fan and a tall cool drink.

5 BURNING Stars!!

When Cara and Noah meet at a dance club, sparks fly-LITERALLY! As a firefighter for the NYFD, Noah is used to feeling the burn, but meeting Cara sparks an inferno inside him like no other. As a single father, Noah is lonely for companionship. But he’ll soon learn, that meeting Cara was not just a one-night stand situation.

As a kindergarten teacher, Cara is due for some fun with someone more her own age. Wbat she hadn’t expected was to meet Noah and feel the fires burn within her body. Her hormones slap her in the face (figuratively speaking) when she realizes that Noah is the parent to one of her students. Will she be able to put her feelings aside and save her job for someone who could potentially be the ONE?

This was another great addition to the Misadventures series, and I can not wait for more!

Misadventures with a Firefighter by Julie Morgan is the story of Noah Hughes and Cara Murphy. This is part of the Misadventures Series but is totally a standalone book.
Cara has moved forward from a breakup that has left her wanting to only focus on her career as a kindergarten teacher and say no to men. But one night her and her friends go out and she ends up having that hot encounter that she doesn't plan on seeing or repeating. Noah is a widower who is working to raise his child along with doing his job as a firefighter. So he doesn't have to much time for anything fun but does share some hot times with one women he can't seem to forget. Cara is heading back to teaching after summer break only to end up meeting Noah again.

Firefighter Romance

I had a hard time with this one. I read about 30% and skimmed through the rest. There was no relationship build up between Noah and Cara. The story opens with the pair meeting at a bar and basically immediately leaving to go have sex. Then all of sudden they are in love.

This is definitely the weakest link in the Misadventures collection and I hate to say that about any author in the Misadventures series. I can't count how many times I wanted to DNF this book, especially once I reached the halfway point. It was a constant 'am I almost to the end yet?' chant in my head as I read. But, I'm not a quitter, so I kept with this until the end. I wish I could say it got better, but it didn't. At the halfway point I decided I was just going to skim the chapters and definitely skip the sex, because there is a point at which it becomes too much and just weakens the plot and serves as filler.

Both Cara and Noah come off a bit immature. Correction, Cara comes off as a spoiled 20 year old still in college, not some supposed mature school teacher up for tenure at some private school in NYC. I hated her as a character. I mean they do it in the supply closet in her classroom. That was beyond unprofessional and not okay. Had that been in an office setting, okay, fine, but not at an elementary school. Just yuck. They definitely didn't make the best decisions about their public displays. And then she turns up at a fire department Halloween party where they're handing out candy to kids and she's wearing some wannabe sexy Brittany Spears schoolgirl costume that's definitely scandalous. How's that appropriate for being around kids? I'm no prude by any means, but even I found that a bit too much for a supposed teacher that's around impressionable young kids at school each day. Had it just been a fire department party among staff, sure, no problem with the outfit. But it's just tasteless when you know it's a party for the local kids.

Noah at least had a kindergarten age son and had to do the widowed parent thing, so he had to be mature for his son. But even he seemed to put his son last several times by choosing to leave his son with his mother some nights while he went to have sex with Cara. It's not like he was even having dates with her, they just kept hooking up and that somehow turned into 'love.' Yeah, right...

There's a huge blowup at the end and Cara once again looks like the spoiled rich girl with her 'woe is me' attitude. She made the bed, she had to lie in it. Sure, she wasn't completely guilty of what she was accused of, but she still allowed things to go too far that led to assumptions being made. And she took it out on Noah for no reason other than her feelings were hurt by someone unrelated to Noah. She sure needed to grovel a whole lot more.

The only redemption was the ending where they get their HEA and we see how their lives were a year later. They seemed like a much more mature couple and I was glad to see they made it work.

There are also some issues with the writing. The book didn't always read like an established author wrote it, but more like those free 50 page Kindle Unlimited books you can get. It did get better as the book continued, but that beginning was a bit cringy. As many people have pointed out, there was an obvious discrepancy when it came to Cara's parents. She first mentioned they were taking her on a trip to Scotland in Chapter 9. By Chapter 11, apparently her dad had died of a heart attack several years ago. So which is it? If all of us readers noticed that right away, how did that get missed by alpha/beta readers or the editors? Even 2 years later, it's still not corrected. I don't think this book lived up to the Misadventures and Waterhouse Press standards. I really hate to talk bad about a book or author and I know I enjoyed the "Misadventures with a Lawyer" book a tad bit more. So I know the author does write great books. This was just not one of them.

Disappointing

This was terribly disappointing. The dialogue was stilted, the plot contrived and in places it contradicted itself, the romance was purely physical and suddenly they were exchanging I love yous. Really repetitive for such a short book. I'm upset that I paid for this. Low quality.

Cara is a kindergarten teacher with a great future ahead of her. Cara is happy being single and wants it that way after having a rough past. Noah is a firefighter that lives for his five year old son. He doesn't trust easily and has a damaged past. The couple meet at a club one night and end up having a one night stand. The second meeting Cara and Noah have they know they can't be together as it will threaten Cara's career. Will the two be able to work things out? A sexy read that I recommend.

Misadventures With a Fireman is a quick and easy forbidden romance read. In it we meet Cara and Noah. She’s a wealthy kindergarten teacher and he’s a single dad fireman. The two meet at a club and their chemistry is off the charts. A one night stand turns into a friends with benefits relationship with a side of growing attraction and feelings. Things come to a head on the first day of school when Cara ends up being Noah’s five year old son’s teacher. Cue the crazy as these two work their way out of their current relationship to something more permanent and long lasting. (I read an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.)

This is my first read of Julie Morgan. Hot Damn. The story of Cara and Noah needs their own series. The teacher who needed one last night and the smoking hot firefighter is one lustful encounter. Who knew she would be his son's teacher. I loved the lustful encounterers between Cara and Noah. I want more. This is my first time reading Julie. Honestly I want more of Cara and Noah...but I wish I could here more about Erin. This Misadventures was hot. I want more. Highly recommended. Welcome to the Misadventures team Julie...

Sparks that turn into Flames....

I am declaring this book a 5-alarm fire read. Noah Hughes and Cara Murphy are so hot they could start a fiery blaze with the chemistry they have together. Cara is a school teacher who loves her job and doesn't have time for a half decent social life. But all that changes when she hooks up with Noah. Noah is a firefighter who is a gorgeous hot firestorm. He is a widow raising his son, a son who is his top priority in his life.

Cara and Noah start off being "friends with benefits" but that all quickly changes. They both have been hurt and have erected many firewalls to keep that from happening again. Their relationship with each other puts Cara's career in jeopardy. They both realize they need to make some difficult life altering decisions that could change their lives completely. This is my first read by Julie Morgan, but definitely not my last.

Woww well the chemistry between Cara and Noah is smoking really did feel like a fire needed extinguishing. Cara a kindergarten teacher meets Noah a firefighter on a fabulous night off the job, what could go wrong?

An amazing rollercoaster tale which you seriously couldn't put down, I mean binge read and 3am style book, Who needs sleep???

Intensity was off the scales from the very first meeting and then this just combusted throw in some unexpected twists and turns this single father really has you from the very beginning.

An absolute must read fantastic addition to the misadventures series.

Omg Noah and Cara are one hot couple. I was so happy when they decided to can the whole friends with benefits idea and explain their hearts. I love how Cara embraced being a stepmother and how Noah felt he could finally move on. The biggest blow was Cara's lousy best friend, Erin. Gah what a witch but the sweet Karma she got was amazing. I absolutely loved this story.

I have been done with this book for over a week and goodness I still do not know how to do this review over such a SPECTACULAR and PHENOMENAL Book!! Misadventures with a firefighter is one of the best books I have EVER read! Cara and Noah's story is romantic, its steamy, Hell it's not just steam its hot, sexy and you will need more than a fan to hep calm you down while reading this book. Julie Morgan wrote a book you can not possible put down and it leaves you wanting more and more after every single page. The passion between Noah and Cara is not small its bigger than you can imagine. They have both gone through so much pain and agony. Neither ever thought they would be willing to be in a relationship again let alone be able to fall in love. you see the passion both between them, their friends & family as well as their careers. It seems like for a short time Cara is going to put her career ahead of her possible love life and then fate changes her heart and mind. Noah and his son Marshall suffer one of the greatest loses you can suffer. Marshall never really has an affect from it but you can see it breaks Noah not just his heart but all the way down to his soul. In the end Cara and Noah end up helping each other heal from the heart breaks they suffered. You also will see Cara go through a terrible trail at the hands of her so called best friend. In the end almost costing Cara everything!
All in all I could not put this book down and I absolutely fell in love with Cara and Noah, Not just their story but their characters. They are both fierce, feisty and I'd even dare say spunky! You can not go wrong reading this book. I Promise you will absolutely fall in love with this story. Julie Morgan did an absolute Amazing job on this book. This was one of my personal most anticipated books for this year. If you do not follow Julie Morgan you absolute should, shes one of the kindest people you will ever get to know. She has written many other amazing books so Check out Misadventures with a firefighter (which is a standalone) and check out Ms. Julie Morgan, I promise you will not regret it!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. This is the first Misadventure i've read and my girl Julie has me hooked now. These characters are so my people and who doesn't love a hot firefighter who also happens to be a dedicated single father raising a boy on his own. The passion, the attraction and the mutual connection that is more the merely physical between these two makes my heart happy to read and when it is all at risk I just want to shake them and make them see what they have and I want to fight for them to keep it. Such a great book!
