FLIGHT RISK by Cara C. Putman is a well-written and intense legal thriller with a touch of romance. It is also my first book by this author. Savannah Daniels owns her own law firm, has great friends, and supports her niece when it’s needed. Jett Glover is a journalist who seeks out the truth. When his story on human-trafficking breaks, tragedy occurs and it affects Savannah both personally and professionally.

The main characters are compelling and had great depth. Their motivations seem believabl

Filled with suspense, heart-wrenching moments and a reminder of the power of words to hurt, betray and mislead. When journalist Jett Glover creates a “thoroughly” fact-checked expose, he discovers that even as a warrior for truth he can make mistakes and they can be deadly.

Savannah Daniels, a successful attorney, becomes enmeshed in a heartbreaking drama when her ex-husband is “exposed” as a child trafficker, thanks to Jett. Now she is affected in both a personal and painful way, as she refuses

I love Cara Putman's Hidden Justice series. I was over the moon excited when I saw she had a new book coming out and jumped at the chance to read it. Putman has a wonderful writing style that is easy and fast paced to read. I love how she makes you feel all the emotions between love, romance, danger and intrigue and does so in a tasteful manner. She tackles some tough subject matter in Flight Risk with human trafficking and does so in a way that shows dignity and that good can overcome evil when ...more

Out of the biggest mistakes may come the greatest blessings!
Keep your eyes open and your ears to the truth as this one is about to take off both literally and figuratively.
The author has created a fire storm here of the new 'fake news' v reality check and it's a struggle of 'good' intentions v 'bad vibes.'
The characters are a lively bunch including our main gal Savannah who is troubled by a recent article from Jett which includes some shocking revelations against her ex-husband.

A gripping thriller with convoluted plots where some of the reveals were big shockers as I didn't ever expect the links between them. The author was quite wicked in the way she connected the storyline.

Savannah was an attorney who was dedicated to her job and committed to loving her niece. Dustin was her ex and her niece's father. Yeah yeah, being a man, he made many mistakes. One of them was hooking up with her sister. Jett a newspaper journalist broke out the headline news about 4 men and their

I have enjoyed this series that features a group of young women, friends who are attorneys living in Washington, DC. Flight Risk is the story about their mentor, Savannah Daniels. She has gradually encouraged some of the young women to join her law firm where they each have a different specialty and yet are a close knit group of women who work together to help each other out professionally as well as personally. Savannah is turning forty as the story starts out but it isn't such a fun day when h ...more

Multiple layers within this Legal Thriller. At the heart of it and my favorite layer is the search for truth, specifically in reporting. How far should a reporter go in the search for facts before deciding that what has been gathered is sufficient and the story is ready to share. And what happens if some details aren't correct.

Main character Samantha has been burned in a relationship and is content with the single life, her role as aunt to her beloved niece and career as a lawyer. Her world is u

Technology, legal expertise, a newspaper expose and murder leave many questions to be answered.
This is a complex story with layered characters and a theme of Truth that is woven throughout.
Savannah Daniels is dealing with a case that takes all her concentration, until personal concerns get in the way, issues that pique her resolve to protect her niece, Addy.

"Finding truth in a fake news world...The reality is the market is so muddied by bad journalists that it's hard to discern who's good and who doesn't know how to ask the right questions."

Cara Putman's legal thrillers never disappoint, and neither did her latest. The focus of the book is on truth and the lasting effects that can be caused by mistruths. This story was filled with multiple threads that seemed overwhelming at first, but as one by one they coalesced, the truth came to be known.

Somehow Savannah Daniels and Jett Glover find themselves fighting the same battle by righting wrongs that go back years. Savannah is a very successful attorney and Jett is a journalist. Can the two put their difficult pasts behind them and expose hidden truths, all while bringing down a sex trafficking ring?

How much do you really know about a person? In Flight Risk by Cara Putman, her legal thriller takes readers on a hunt to answer this question. Savannah is a lawyer for her own firm with her three lawyer friends that have told their stories in Beyond Justice, Imperfect Justice, and Delayed Justice. The tension in Flight Risk takes off in the opening chapter with a news story written by the hero, Jett. From then on, Putnam keeps reminding readers of Savannah's personal life and how it interacts wi ...more

You begin to see that history for Jett’s family is repeating itself, and because of his article things start to go horribly wrong, but why?
The author gives us two very strong characters here, one a lawyer, Savannah Daniels, and the other a star reporter Jett Glover, and how they are thrown together.
You won’t see a lot of what happens coming, your kept on the edge of your seat, and yes, there is a lot of action here. We have sadly murders, and plane crashes, along with human trafficking, and more

This was an attention grabbing romantic suspense novel, filled with twists and turns and the villain that I never saw coming. Between airplane crashes, human trafficking and drug and alcohol abuse, there were plenty of heavy topics included, but the book itself didn't have a heavy feel to it as the author handled those issues with care. This one kept me turning pages long into the night, anxious to see what happens next. The main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the romance moved way too ...more

This is my first time reading Putman's work and even though I didn't connect with it as much as I wanted to, I really did enjoy certain aspects of this story.

Loved Savannah from the start, she started her own firm and has the best staff keeping everything running smoothly while she struggles to balance her personal life. She also celebrates her 40th birthday in the midst of some crazy things happening. That was a fun scene!

A mystery that focuses on the importance of truth in reporting, not rushing to judgement, and taking risks.

The main character, Savannah Daniels, is an attorney who is helping a company navigate through arbitration and a lawsuit with their new technology. She has a complicated "family" situation as her ex-husband, Dustin Tate, fathered a daughter with Savannah's sister. Savannah's niece is Addy, and is not well looked after by her mother, Stasi. Enjoy a wild ride in Cara Putman’s newest legal thriller, Flight Risk!

Attorney Savannah Daniels has a lot on her plate, managing her own law firm, a particularly challenging lawsuit, and the safety of her beloved niece. Journalist Jett Glover only complicates matters when he publishes a story portraying her ex-husband (also, her niece’s father) in a scandalous light. As a plane crash, a car accident, and several mysterious deaths add to the chaos surrounding them, they must work to see behind

In this spin-off from The Hidden Justice series, Cara Putman once again brings her audience a fast-paced, satisfying read that combines action-packed suspense with legal drama and romance. The book gives Savannah, the heroines' mentor from The Hidden Justice series, a voice filled with broken past, impossible present, and uncertain future. I enjoyed this fast-paced suspenseful novel with a touch of legal thriller to it. Savannah is an attorney who is still recovering from her husband’s betrayal. But when a reporter, Jett, accuses him in print of being part of a sex-trafficking ring, she can’t believe it. Things start spiraling out of control and Savannah finds herself working with Jett to figure out the truth. It’s an unlikely pairing but they come to appreciate each other.

Excellent character development and realistic emotions and actions make this novel almost novel. Lawyer Savannah is stuck in the middle of some scary situations. Representing clients who may be skirting the law and taking care of her niece (also the daughter of her ex) should be enough. But add in an airplane crash, murders, and human trafficking, and you’ve got the makings of an addictive read. Savannah’s faith helps her through. description

This is an increasingly intense legal thriller filled with pulse-pounding suspense and a gentle sprinkling of romance. The author's casual writing style welcomes you into facing the tough topic of sex trafficking in a way that brings awareness to such a serious and traumatic issue without being graphic or gratuitous. The touches of faith provided the much needed calm within the sea of so much illegal activity, betrayal, and greed. Religious nuances became an encouraging beacon of hope even in th

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed "Flight Risk" as not only a thrilling suspense, but also as a budding "break out of the box" romance.

From the charged and high pace setting of D.C. comes a novel regarding the importance and perception of truth. How do you find it and what do you do with it? Savannah and Jett are an unlikely pairing, but are thrown together due to circumstances neither would have asked for. While the romance is not the main flavor of the novel, I have to say I actually appreci

What a waste of time. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I’d been introduced to Savannah in the first book of this series, which is where she should have stayed. This book should never have gone to print. Perhaps the author was trying to paint her characters as flawed but lovable, but they came across as inept idiots. The plot was disjointed and loose ends are scattered throughout this book. I sincerely hope Cara Putman is a better lawyer than writer.

Cara Putman is an author that is on my 'must-read' list. When I first heard of this book, I eagerly looked forward to reading it, and it did not disappoint!

If you've read some of her previous novels, the ones from the Justice series, you will find yourself becoming reacquainted with some familiar characters. The main character is Savannah, but I enjoyed meeting up with Hayden, Emilie, and Jaime again.

A lawyer and a journalist seeking the truth about her ex and an air crash. Sometimes truth is hard to find. The effect of half-truths or fake news can be enormous.

The novel is quite enjoyable although the connection between the two cases seems quite construed and the issue of trafficking is not really explored. The "good" main characters are believable in their reactions, the "bad" ones not so much.

Everyone’s in a panic after a plane crashes soon after takeoff. Was it an accident or terrorist attack? The author does a good job of showing how fear colors people’s reactions because of events like what happened on Sept 11th or something similar The author drew on her own experiences of Sept 11th in writing this story as she worked at a court near the White House at the time, and of a crash that occurred near her home in 1982 on the 14th street bridge. That plane used a new technology to deter ...more
