So far this is the book that really had me on the edge, and that's saying something. The first two books were not a walk in the park. I'm actually really glad the author is taking her time telling Edward and Celia's story. These characters are so complex. We need to see their story fleshed out and not rushed.

Both Edward and Celia have a long journey to go from where they were when they first met to what I'm hoping to be their happily ever after. That takes time and we need to see their growth taken seriously which I believe the author has accomplished to this point.

I gotta admit, because of how much we are seeing in their journey, I think this couple may have Hudson and Alayna beat with the level of writing that this author is putting into their story. I can't believe I'm saying that. Trust me, I never thought I would say that. I love Hudson and Alayna. I still do, I just can't get over how much I'm impressed with how fleshed out these characters are. I feel like I'm right there with them as they grow and become a newer version of themselves.

This last and final book to come will have a lot riding on it. There is just so much more that needs to happen and I'm nervous with how Edward and Celia will get there. This series is not an easy series to read. This isn't a feel good story. Both Edward and Celia have things in their past that have shaped them to be the enemy in so many peoples eyes.

Their past is not pretty and Celia's in particular was pretty disturbing. It was very hard to read certain parts of this book and in book 2 when we learn what happened to her. I want them both to finally be free of all that have weighed them down and I want to see them happy. Yes, that manipulative, conniving woman in the Fixed series is the same woman I want to see have some happiness in her life.

Book #3!

It's been a long while since book #2 and I forgot everything! LOL!
Damn #Bookalzheimers! But I re-read the last pages and my review of the 2nd book and now I'm back on track!

Book #3 starts with Celia and Edward arriving back in London after the Island. To finally move into the family home with Edward's sister and nephew as real married people! Not like the pretend revenge weirdos from book #1. LOL!

But revenge is still on their agenda - only now they'll be working together to make all the bad people in their pasts pay!

Let the fun times begin...

description

This was another great book in this series.

It took me a while to get into it. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for such a book today. I'm not really a fan of this whole bdsm/sub whatever stuff. But I really love Edward and Celia and the story is really interesting. I loved to see how they started their new life together - with all the daily stuff that happens in a normal marriage - plus their revenge and personal stuff that's not really all that normal! ☺

And I also loved the end - there's definitely more excitement to come in the last book!

SLAY THREE: REVENGE was a great 3rd book in this crazy sexy quartet! I can't wait to see what will happen with Celia and Edward at the end of their story! Hurry to your nearest amazon asap - Edward will be sold out in no time!!!

Edward Fasbender is a wealthy, powerful man who’d built his own media empire. He was a ruthless, complicated man who thrived on control, and kept a list of who had wronged him and his family. He married a woman named Celia fueled by his need for vengeance. He tried to resist the pull between them, but no longer wanted to keep her at a distance. As they grew closer over time, he realized she was an important part of his life. He loved her sauciness, and it only added to his need to dominate her. He was finally able to admit he wanted her, and his feelings for her were genuine. He wanted her trust and loyalty, but he also wanted her to be strong, resilient, whole, and most of all his.

 photo 5F03B07D-4E3D-4341-838B-DED12A0D3CB0_zps4hspcmk8.jpg

Celia Fasbender married her father’s business rival with plans to ruin him. She’d never planned to stay married, or have a real marriage. The man who manipulated her and played games, also made her feel free and at peace. He’d released an avalanche of emotions in her, revealing her true authentic self. He made her vulnerable and pushed her comfort levels and boundaries. She’d changed and grown because of a man who seemed to always know exactly what she needed. He challenged her to examine her psyche. He stirred new feelings in her, and she was seeing tenderness from who had once been a cold man. She craved his attention and his touch. The man she thought she would despise made her feel special. She felt claimed and treasured all at once. She belonged with him. She was devoted to her gorgeous, alpha husband, but would revenge consume them in the end?

-You’re everything to me.

-“I will take care of you. You’re mine, no one else’s.”

-We were sinfully beautiful together.

-He owned new completely, and it was hard to fathom anything I wouldn’t do for my ruthless devil.

Revenge: Slay Three by Laurelin Paige continues the story of a marriage of convenience that evolves into so much more. It’s an intense enemies to lovers romance full of passion, emotion, and retribution. I can’t wait for more of this complex, captivating couple.

I don't really know where to start, it took me a few chapters before I could get into book 3, I am definitely a fan, however didn't know where this book was taking me. I love that Celia found someone to love & cherish her cause this is were we start, let me say prior to this series I loathed Celia before, now understanding why she was that person make sense, now I adore her...back in London at Edward's family home where he shared with his sister and nephew, Edward is now ready to begin their marriage as a married couple instead of what they had on the island. Celia is now the new woman of the house, which starts strange because Edward sister is not willing to let go of the hatred she has for the Werner family. As Edward takes care of Celia and she lets him D/s relationship she challenges him on everything, which actually works for them. It allows Celia to not to let Edward go to far because Celia now has a conscience and has changed quite a bit she not the same person she was before.

Now comes the part were Edward is convinced Celia needs healing from her past and he is just the person to hand out all the revenge on every person who has wronged her, can Celia stop him before he goes to far

I also had to go back and read Chandler story because of Genevie Fasbender Edward's daughter has such a present in her fathers story I wanted to go back and see what I missed.

An intricately woven and deliciously decadent plot! Laurelin Paige’s master storytelling skills shine in this installment of Slay. It’s a phenomenal story.

Here’s what I loved:
I was most impressed by the intricately woven plot and character development. There is so much to these two. So much underlying pain and history to discover. The author manages the feat superbly. I was hanging on the edge of my seat to see what would be uncovered next.
Edward and Celia are perfect for one another. He’s everything she wants and the push and pull to get to the heart of who they are together was intriguing.
Some elements of the sexy side of the storyline were undoubtedly shrouded in past hurts, but it’s the signature steam level I’ve come to expect from this author. Hawt!

All in all, each facet of the story intrigued and entertained me. I cannot wait to see the final installment has in store for us! Let the games begin! 4.5 Stars!

I just can’t get enough of Edward and Celia. Their story is so entertaining and filled with so much heat and twists. I didn’t think Laurelin Paige could top the previous two books in the Slay series but she definitely did with Revenge. Here I got a deeper insight into Edward and Celia’s past. Especially Edward’s past was fascinating. How he became the man he is and why he behaves the way he does towards Celia. He wants to care for her. Physically and emotionally. I like that Celia doesn’t give into him but fight him when something truly matters to her. Their push and pull game is amazing and sizzling. They complement each other perfectly. In Revenge they’re a team but of course conflicts will appear and challenge them and their marriage. With the way Revenge ends I just need Book 4 - Rising now! I need answers and more Edward and Celia.

Oh, Edward Fasbender. You have made me not like you, you've made me curious about you, you've made me suspicious, and you've made me absolutely swoon. I have waited for this moment--for you to seek and exact your revenge. Thank you, Laurelin Paige, for delivering perfection.

Edward loves Celia, and the way he chooses to show her how much he loves her is by convincing her she needs to sanction his retaliation against her uncle and the men who wronged her. Throughout the first two books of this quartet, Paige establishes who Edward and Celia are, rearranging and reframing any preconceived notions you have of them (particularly her). Now, we begin to enjoy the payoff. Edward's ruthlessness, his focus on dominance, his need for control, and his love of Celia conspire to make him quite determined to bring his wife the relief he believes she needs.

Of course, Celia is no quivering neophyte. She knows what's going on, and she is not going to give Edward what he wants without getting what she wants. I think watching Celia discover and show her strength when she needs it is one of my favorite parts of this book.

Laurelin Paige does a deeper dive into Edward's psyche here. You get more of his voice, which Paige has made us NEED. I love how she takes us into his head, letting us see how he thinks. There are times in this book when Edward will make you worry, both for him and for Celia. Yet just when you start to wonder how he will get his revenge without hurting Celia (and himself), Laurelin Paige shows you that she has firm control of this story.

And then there is that CLIFFHANGER. I whooped with joy. Celia Werner, I may have loathed you in the Fixed series, but I am a HUGE fan of yours now.

AHHH!! Revenge: (Slay Quartet Book 3) just obliterated me!!! Similar to books 1 and 2, Rivalry and Ruin, Revenge was a psychological feast for the senses!! It was a game of cat and mouse and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I enjoyed Edward and Celia's chemistry and how addicted they were to each other! Paige did a phenomenal job highlighting the character development and emotional depth in this story! What a masterpiece!!

What I loved more than anything in this story was how the writing and plot in the story evolved in each respective book. We see how Edward's cold and unfeeling demeanor has evolved into a man who can not even function without Celia by his side. His love for her was passionate, obsessive and all-consuming. Likewise Celia has been one of my favorite character transformations. Her cold and jaded facade has left and we are left with a woman coming into her own. She is more vulnerable, open and malleable but her backbone is still in place. I love how she fought back on matters important to her and how she showed Edward what a true partnership was.

Overall, Revenge was a non-stop passionate game of one uppsmanship between two people who have more to gain as lovers and partners versus adversaries and foes. Edward and Celia's revenge game was on point and brutal but now I look forward to how Edward will deal with Celia's ultimate bombshell. Bring on Rising!!! 5 stars! ~Ratula

The impossible has happened.
I've officially fallen head over heels in love with Edward Fasbender.

I truly did not think this would happen considering I absolutely loathed him in Rivalry, and then I grew to only slightly like him after reading Ruin. Devouring Revenge made me see a different side to him though - one where he completely stole my heart with his displays of affection, his devotion to those he loves, and his vulnerabilities that had me hugging my Kindle to my chest and just soaking in this un-Edward-like moment.

I mean, he was still a manipulative and hypocritical asshole - and many times I was wondering why Celia was still with him - but thanks to the fact that Revenge is told in dual POV where the chapters alternate equally between Celia and Edward's perspectives, it meant that we really got to see a different side to him that we never got to before, especially since some of his chapters are told in the pasts' perspective where we get to learn even more about this devil B.C. (before Celia). More so, we learn more about his relationships with both his sister Camilla, and his ex-wife Marion.

I feel like if you've been craving to have more from Edward and just more of him in general, then you will not be disappointed with all that Laurelin delivers here in the third instalment of this quartet.

Spanning over the course of a year, Revenge picks up around six weeks after where Ruin left off; Celia is now back in London with Edward, and a plan is being devised to get revenge on the man who ruined their childhoods'. Celia is very much on board to take down the monster who haunts her, and finally free herself from the chains that tie her to her past. But when Edward starts to seek revenge on everyone who's wronged Celia in the past, she finds her future being put on hold as she's caught between Edward's need to avenge, and her desire to finally move on and be happy and free.

But it's as the story progresses that we see that it's not just Celia's past that needs to be confronted and put to rest, and when Edward's past comes walking into his present, he's forced to finally face all he's fought to avoid, and finally settle all that's been left unresolved.

Revenge just consumed me from the very first page; it was angst-filled, romantic, dramatic and sexy, and it was such an emotional and intense read too that I couldn't help but be kept hooked until the very last word. It was as dark and unpredictable as Rivalry and Ruin was, and it was quite triggering at times what with the sensitive subjects that Laurelin tackles here when it came to talking about Celia's past, along with all that goes down in the last 20% of this novel - so be prepared for that.

But honestly, Revenge was everything I hoped and thought it'd be, and it is so far and by far my favourite book of the Slay Quartet.

Edward completely stole the show for me here thanks to the fact we got more from his perspective, but Celia also left her mark on me too as she made my heart race with her courage, her sass and her strength, yet made it break too with her fears and vulnerabilities, and if I wasn't already in love with her before devouring this story, then I'd have fallen head over heels after reading Revenge.

It was honestly BRILLIANT, and I'm now so excited to see how it is Laurelin ends this phenomenal series in its final book: Rising. I'm ready to see these characters' reaction to that cliffhanger of an ending here in Revenge (well, ONE certain character's reaction anyway), but more than anything else, I'm ready to finally get an answer as to what that note meant that was dropped on us unexpectedly at the very end of Fixed Forever.

But I just know that no matter what, Laurelin Paige will blow my mind with all she delivers next in Rising, and that she'll end this series in a way that does Celia and Edward's romance justice.

I'm happy i didn't start this series earlier because i would've gone mad.

So book three starts right where book two ended. Celia is back to London as Edward's wife, the wife he loves. Now is time for REVENGE.

image: description

with every book i fell more and more in love with Celia, she really is a phenomenal character.
Edward however, i'm not so sure about him. I love and hate him equally. He is very possessive and demanding and the fact that he expects total obedience really pissed me off. The subb thing was not my favorite part at all, but it was his way to show that he cared for Celia and that he loved her.

The fact that he expects total honesty from Celia and he wants to know everything about her but he can't give her that in return was frustrating. He has always been driven by vengeance, ad now that we knows that the same man who destroyed his fathers business is the the same man who broke his wife, vengeance will be wonderful.

image: description

But how far will he go to have his revenge??
Does he have limits??
Is he willing to risk Celia's love to quench his thirst???

Now that some truths are out, Celia is afraid of her husband because he has no limits.
but she will have to stop him, in one way or another.

There are a lot of questions that needs to be answered, and with that ENDING!!
I really can't wait for RISING to be out so i can know what will happen next.

Oh wow! My stomach is in knots. I’ve felt sick! I’ve felt enraged. I’ve felt disgusted but this book is so good.

Laurelin Paige has stirred so many emotions in me that I don’t know what to do with myself. I can’t make bread this time and take it out on the dough, I haven’t got any bread flour.

Book number 3 in the series is a tough read. I could not put it down though. Couldn’t look away. We’ve had a raging storm in the UK today, I feel like I’ve been tossed about by the wind. I’ve been in full hibernation mode powering through my book rather than venturing out into the wild.

LP keeps dropping small hints of events in Edward’s past but the crumbs are just enough to keep the secrets hidden. Just enough to keep the reader enticed and needing more. There’s some golden chapters about the younger Edward that fascinated me.

My love and admiration for Celia continues to grow. I want to get revenge on her behalf too. Edward is hell bent on fixing Celia and driving out her bad memories by replacing them. He loves her! He really, really loves her. But with that love, he becomes determined to have revenge even though some wrongs against her were of her own making and she’s already forgiven and moved on.

Celia has grown up! The little bird has new feathers.

Off to chop the living daylights out of some potatoes in my own revenge attack. I might even violently attack some school uniform with a burning hot implement.

Lauralin Paige has written a character that I completely hated more than all villains I've read in all other books combined. Her name was Celia Werner. Notice the past tense 'was' in the previous sentence. Celia, along with her husband Edward, have become my favorite Paige power couple. And I never thought anyone would upset the #1 power couple of Hudson and Alayna.

Revenge is the third book in the Slay series. Rising will be the fourth and final book in the series and I can't wait for the next 3 months to pass. Revenge was everything I was hoping it would be and so much more. After I finished Ruin, I thought I knew where this third book would go, but I should know that Paige's mind always takes us on many twists and turns.

Edward is so in love with Celia and feels for her to be whole, she must settle the demons of her past. Celia loves Edward but struggles at times with his desire for dominance. This book is brilliance on paper. You will love the dynamic duo more than you ever have and Laurelin will have you counting down the days, hours, and minutes until Rising releases!!

ARC received for an honest review

I have terrible bookzheimer's, and it has been a while since book 2 in this series, so me being me, I had no idea what I was diving into.

However, once I started reading, things started to fall into place in my brain and I slowly remembered things.

Now, it did take me about 20% to really get into this story, however once it did, I was all in.

Celia and Edward's relationship has changed since the island, and for me I liked where things were going.

My thoughts on Edward have turned, and whereas before I was unsure of his motives, I know that I like where he is going with things.

Revenge is a good title for this installment of the series, and now I am impatiently awaiting the conclusion. Is it May yet?

Revenge Is Sweet Or Will It Destroy You?

Celia has been broken down and now Edward is focusing on building her back up. They are back home in London and the two are working to establish their new norm.

Celia is coming to some conclusions about who she is and what she needs. Edward is right by her side helping her work through her past and accept her future. She needs to be controlled, yet she is resistant. Edward wants control but enjoys the challenge she presents.

And now that Celia is moving forward, Edward is ready to exact revenge on those that hurt her. The only problem is, Edward has a hard time drawing a line between getting justice and letting his thirst for revenge consume him.

Their love is complicated. Celia is willing to make concessions in their relationship but she wants the same from Edward. He struggles with giving up complete control. Some fights cannot be won. It will be up to each of them to decide how much they are willing to sacrifice to be happy.

I continue to enjoy their journey. Edward has finally shown how much he loves Celia. However, his struggles are real and he may just be sabotaging the best thing he's ever had. I am ready for the conclusion because that ending left me wanting more. And watching Celia find her strength and become a person she can be proud of is rewarding. This story leans toward the darker side, but I am invested and cannot wait to see where the author takes this couple.

This is instalment three and as the storyline developed and Celia’s back story emerged, I found myself warming to her. Paige does well to turn Celia’s character around as she is remarkably unlikeable at the start. The same can also be said about Edward. We delve into his backstory and come to understand why he behaves in the way he does more in this instalment.

But, full disclosure, I had to put this book down midway through and take a break. I think my break from this book may last until book four is released and my curiosity as to how Celia’s and Edward’s story concludes, wins over.

The start of the series, whilst dark an exciting, did have a lot of tedious content and I was holding out for better days to come. I wanted explosive chemistry and hoped that the ridiculous amount of character building we endured with Celia, on that island, was building to something brilliant.

But alas, this book is a continuation of the same stuff in my opinion, except we’re now back at home, in England.

I don’t know if I over saturated myself by reading the instalments back to back, as the books are long and slow moving, but I just found myself losing interest in the characters.

Anyway, I’ve taken a temporary break from this series to clear my head.

Okay, so here’s the kicker about attempting to review this journey at this stage (book 3 of 4) … it is impossible. There is nothing that I can tell you right now that won’t be a spoiler for what has happened, what is happening and/or what might happen in the future so …… but, I can still share:
Celia is still slaying it and I love her and want to have her babies!
Edward is still weirdly fascinating.
These two own my heart and soul right now.
#JesusSaveMeFromThisJourney

I’ve come to fully understand the reasoning (I think lol) behind this journey being divided into four distinct parts but I loath the fact that they are SO far apart from each other. It will be almost a year between when this journey began and when it ends and over 300 books in between. I’m not sure I would have began this journey when I did had I been aware of that because I’ve had to go back to refresh my memory on details every time a book has released *sigh*

Dnf'ing this. I CANNOT deal with how the author turned Celia from the bad bitch to this pathetic mess. I tried books 1 and 2 but this series has gone progressively worse and this is where I draw the line to torturing myself.

"He owned me completely, and it was hard to fathom anything I wouldn’t do for my ruthless devil."

The Slay Quartet only gets better with each new book. I am so obsessed with Edward and Celia. They are honestly becoming my favorite Laurelin Paige couple to date! Slay Revenge offered everything the title promised it would. This installment had me on the edge of my seat from the first page until the last. I thought the angst, suspense, and emotion of this book would tear me apart. It was as intense as it was explosive. This story may have triggers for some but I felt the author handled everything as tactfully as the subject could be. You needed them missing pieces to fully understand Celia and the pain that surrounds her character. I LOVED the power balance Celia and Edward offered this round. It made for a perfectly satisfying game of cat and mouse. I thought the chemistry would seriously light my kindle on FIRE! And talk about ending with a BANG! I can feel the book hangover slowly creeping in. I could not be more ready to get my hands on part 4; Rising. I am dying to know what Edward and Celia have in store for us next!

"I wanted her strong and whole and resilient and mine, and I knew how to have it all. If that made me greedy, so be it. It was greed that served her best."

Celia is very much the dragon she promises to be. I now see her character in a while new light after Revenge. I truly admire everything about Celia, and that grows with every secret she reveals. My heart completely broke for her this book. Her pain bled through the pages and straight into your heart. I always throught of her character as strong but I totally underestimated just how much strength she truly has. I love that no matter how horrid her past was she faces it head on like the dragon she is.

"In many ways, he was still a stranger to me, and yet he was the man who ruled my world.

Edward has stolen my heart EVEN more than before. Slay could not be a more perfect title to describe just what Edward will do to your heart. I just can not get enough of his demanding arrogant ways. The aloof, calculated ways he handles things is down right sexy. Edward is by far one of the fiercest alphas I have read. Every flaw, every sin just makes you want his darkness that much more. I love that he will destroy anything and anyone to protect the ones he loves most. The passion and adoration he has for Celia had me melting in the swoons!!

"Me with the devil at my side— what could possibly get in our way?"

*5 STARS*
Simply does not feel enough for this story. I would give it a hundred of I could. This is going straight to my best reads of 2020! If you have not taken the Slay plunge you are honestly missing out. I can NOT stress enough reading this quartet!!

Do inner wounds heal if one partakes in revenge? Will you be able to move on? Will you be able to start afresh? Or would the wound fester and cause harm? These questions rake my brain while reading Revenge by Laurelin Paige. A very complex read that plunged me into a gritty and decadent romance. Laurelin Paige takes you down into a brilliant dark romance that sweeps you away. Revenge tantalized my inner dark soul with a hard hitting and explosive literary pleasure. Absolutely trilling. Utterly soul wrecking.

Revenge is the irresistible third book in the Slay series, written by the literary goddess, Laurelin Paige who intricately plunges you deeply into a fascinating dark and delicious romance. My emotions are all scattered. My feelings are all over the place. Revenge definitely played with my mind from the beginning to the end. Heart Swerving. Soul Plunging. Rapturous. Beguiling. Revenge is a hypnotizing and vicious tale of revenge and the absolute quest for vengeance. The suspense, explosive and intense. The romance, seductive and sinful. The story, sexy and stirring. Laurelin Paige delves you into psychological indulgence, festering, ripping and exploding every part of you.

I thank Laurelin Paige for writing Celia as a heroine. Everyone deserves love. Celia deserves buckets of it. Celia’s past still breaks my heart. I just want to hug her. Can you believe that I am now a fan of Celia? I am still wrapping my mind around it. That’s the beauty of Laurelin Paige’s writing. She makes you fall in love with her characters even when you felt hatred over them. Edward will do everything in his power for vengeance. In both Rivalry and Ruin, he was powerful, ruthless and cruel. In Revenge, he showed his protective and loving side with a hint of power that made me swoon.

I am so excited for Rising, the conclusion to Edward and Celia’s epic story.

Can a book be better than its predecessors? This series has proven that and with honours.

The third in a series of four and it is a masterpiece of psychological warfare, character evolution, depth of emotion, and a love that defies labels.

Celia and Edward deserve a genre of their own.

I felt absorbed like by a black hole of irresistible attraction and intensity. Now there is passion and true commitment in their tumultuous relationship, but the struggle and the challenges are far from settled.

This couple is teetering on the razor-sharp edge between revenge and self-preservation. Is it worth it to pursue resolution for injustices done to them, or the price will be too high for the soul?

There's an analogy about strength and the lengths we go to in order to fulfill revenge that was simply genius. And the battle of wills continue with extreme force when they deal with past traumas and present trust. Celia is still facing her demons in more detailed, painful ways, which I think take now a resolute, productive tone. Yet Edward surprised me with his own issues. His psyche is delved into with excruciating clarity. So much thrill in this book, in these characters' constant clash and provocative dialogues, in the tempest and fervor of their unorthodox romance. Spectacular.

I think my admiration for Celia grew exponentially once again. She deals with her husband's blind obsession with unyielding hope and resilience. So much drama and raw emotions between them, oh my! I feel as if I know them, their happiness being vital to me now.

One of the most harrowing situations about Celia's past comes to a keenly graphic epiphany, with Edward very much a triggering motor behind it. It is hard to go through, and epic as it is, it only builds up to more peaks of secrets revealed for this couple. I believe the tests keep piling up for them and the next book will be unmissable.

This third installment in the Slay Quartet is everything I hoped it would be and more. We’ve learned so much about Celia in the first two books that I was literally CRAVING more from Edward. Laurelin Paige delivered immensely. Revenge is not just about planning and retribution, it’s an entire roller coaster ride of feeling that deep need to make one pay and what that can do to you as a person.

The emotional bond that was woven between Edward and Celia transcends beyond a mere marriage. As a reader I needed that connection to form on both sides and by the end of the book there is no doubt that these two will be able to tackle the world head on. Even though there are still many things to work out between multiple characters Laurelin leaves lose ends from another killer cliff hanger that do nothing but tether me to the next book. I can not wait to see what Rising brings for the Fasbenders.

Another hard one to review.

The secondary plot line and the descriptions were very hard for me to listen to. I was absolutely disgusted, and who wouldn’t be? This ultimately took away from my enjoyment of this book and is the main reason that I can’t give this a higher than 2-star rating.

Also, this third installment didn’t capture and hold my attention the way the previous books did. That said, I will still most likely listen to the last book in this series to see how this will all turn out. Not necessarily in a rush to get to it though.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 25, 2020

Their relationship changes again when Celia learns the devil takes care of his own.

Edward Fasbender is my savior.

From the ashes of who I once was, he is helping me to rise.

He has a list of people who have wronged him. And now he's adding names to that list. Names that I gave him.

And we will have our revenge.

•••••

REVIEW: 4.5stars--REVENGE is the third instalment in Laurelin Paige’s contemporary, adult SLAY dark, erotic, romance quartet focusing on businessman/billionaire media mogul Edward Fasbender, and Celia Warner. The SLAY Quartet is a spin-off from the author’s FIXED series, and falls in the timeline before Fixed Forever and a few years after Forever with You. REVENGE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book two SLAY: RUIN.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Celia and Edward) SLAY:REVENGE focuses on the ongoing relationship between our leading couple, and Edward’s need to seek vengeance against the men he believes destroyed his father. Years earlier, Warren Werner and his brother Ron took over and dismantled his father’s business, and in the ensuing time ruined the lives of Edward and Camilla Fasbender. Fast forward to present day wherein the time has come for Edward to take down the Warner family, starting with Celia, then Warren and Ron. Months will pass, and Edward and Celia’s relationship will become one of power, control and ultimately love until Celia reveals the truth about what happened years before. To get his revenge, Edward works alongside the local police in an effort to take down the man that destroyed Celia’s life. What ensues is the building romance and the Master/submissive relationship between Celia and Edward, and the potential fall-out as Edward refuses to reveal the secrets about his past but demands all of Celia’s secrets in return.

Edward Fasbender and Celia Warner are ultimately game players who often target the vulnerable and the weak but Edward’s latest targets are anyone and everyone who has ever threatened or abused the woman he loves. Meanwhile, Edward is desperate for Celia to reveal the man who introduced our heroine to the world of The Game, the long con that destroyed so many lives.

The relationship between Edward and Celia continues to develop towards a more romantic lifestyle but Edward is a Dominant by nature, and Celia, although somewhat submissive refuses to bow to Edward’s every command. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate but I dislike the use of a certain four letter word in my romance story line. It was only used twice-more for shock value than anything else.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Edward’s children Hagan and Genevieve; his sister Camilla, and her son Freddie ; Celia’s father Warren, and his brother Ron, as well as several other Edward targets in his need for revenge.

SLAY: REVENGE is a story of power and control; of vengeance and retribution; determination, relationship, romance and love. The premise is raw and engaging; the romance is gritty and intense; the characters are wounded, determined, broken yet strong. SLAY: REVENGE is a revealing, emotional and provocative instalment that ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

All the Stars! I am so INVESTED!!!!

Edward Fassbender is every single thing I want in a hot fractured hero digging and clawing for redemption. Celia is the broken soul he loves to torture and heal, or is she? Celia is a force. Read on, or just one click now. Revenge is RIPE and fantastic, but most of all, it's a complete book, a blend of psychological thriller and erotic romance you rarely see.

This book left me devastated and I struggled with my review. It's THAT real, because at this point, I am sooo invested. Revenge is painful and fulfilling and the story zooms past every erotic fantasy to invent new mind bending ways to keep you up all night, swiping at the pages while you weep for resolution.

Revenge is not cold! Between Edward and Celia, it's HOT and complex with scenes that scorch between these well-drawn lovers. If you want an up-all-night erotic romance that makes you say, "Wait, do I really want this?" Hell yes! You really want this. Edward breaks my heart and then, gulp, his ways with Celia, he mends it at the same time... Jeez, the man is such a control freak, but he’s so vulnerable too.

This book is advanced romance with two amazing leads. I love the narrative choices and the shifting points of view. There's just so much here. With plot flourishes that made me wince and nod, Paige really gives us two equals in every way, by writing such unique souls with distinct voices, who in their own ways are both uniquely dominant and desperate at the same time. Love every word.

Yes, the passion is sweltering, the leads are s3xy, like holy smokes s3xxxy.

There are these beautiful passages of them so completely satisfying each other, their love never getting them close enough, but their absolute star-filled union in the moment. Grab a copy and cancel the rest of your day.

I seriously cannot with Laurelin Paige. Her sheer talent and storytelling ability are so inspiring, and Revenge proves yet again why she’s one of my favorite authors.

Revenge is the third book in the Slay Quartet, so if you haven’t read Rivalry and Ruin, make sure you read those first before diving into this one.

I was sucked into the story from the first page. I love that Celia and Edward are working together now because they’re stronger as a duo, and just like the title implies, revenge is what they’re looking to serve to those who've wronged them. Their evolution as both a couple and individuals is fascinating, and seeing the devil take care of his own gave me all the good feels. I’m simultaneously anticipating and dreading the release of Rising because I need to know how it all ends and also don’t want it to end. Bookworm problems, am I right?

Do yourself a favor and read this series. I never thought I’d love Celia’s story because c’mon, Hudson. But I do. I really, really do.

NO SPOILERS!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Revenge was a sexy, riveting, and suspenseful third installment in the Slay Quartet, and has been my favorite of the series so far. A lot transpired in Revenge, and I was captivated from beginning to end.

I once again loved Laurelin Paige’s writing style, and that she finally gave readers more chapters from Edward’s perspective. I loved delving deeper into his character and discovering what motivated him to be the man he is today. Some of the questions I had from the previous two books were answered in Revenge, but there were still several things left up in the air (which I obviously expected), and I very much look forward to continuing/finishing Edward and Celia’s story in Rising.

REVENGE by Laurelin Paige is book Three in the Slay Quartet Series. This continues the story of Celia Werner and Edward Fasbender, so you should read the previous book "Slay: Rivalry" and "Ruin" first before starting this one. With this book we have them solid in marriage but with the taste of revenge for the past issues to seek justice. This series is so good you just can't get enough. I love the alpha strong hero who loves his women and seeks to right the wrongs done. This has been a page turning series and I can't wait for the next installment in their story!!!

3.5 CROWNS

I struggled with this series. I LOVED book one. Loved. Book 2 had so many spots that dragged, and then the end gripped me. Revenge is more of the same.

There are parts of this book that owned me, parts that were slow, and parts that were hard for me to read. What hasn't changed is that I still very much enjoy the writing of Laurelin Paige in terms of her style of writing.

Overall the characters are enjoyable as well. I get the motivation behind the hero's actions, and while sometimes it comes across as cold or calclulating, it is driven by affection, too. The evolution of the heroine has been the biggest across this book, and I am enjoying who she is becoming through the course of the series.

The teaming up and taking revenge on enemies is probably my favorite aspect of the series. It speaks to my dark/suspense romance loving heart.

The final book in the series will be coming soon, and I am excited to see how Laurelin Paige is going to end it all.
