A Joyfully Jay review.

Flame and Ash is the third book in Morgan Brice’s Witchbane series. This series has a really interesting premise that grabbed me from the first book. Each year for about a century, one of twelve witch-disciples kills one of the descendants of the sheriff’s posse that killed their leader, Rhyfel Gremory. Brice really has a knack for urban fantasy and I really enjoy the world building in this series and the creative ways magic is incorporated into the real world. I

Another awesome read in the Morgan Brice's 'Witchbane' series! Full review to follow soonish!

There's work, there's vacations, there are working vacations and then there's...travels with Seth and Evan. It's unlike any working vacation you could ever imagine.

Before I get into anything in terms of specifics let me just say if you haven't read the previous stories in this series and by read I mean read or listened to the audio, I strongly recommend doing this to get the full background on Seth

Didn't know this was the third book in the series and it seems like the series follows the same people or couple. But I did enjoy this paranormal romance anywho, found it very fun story with compelling romance. Not sure if I want to start the series from the beginning or not. ...more

Wow, another amazing story. Seth and Evan are really growing as witch hunters, and are on the hunt for another killer in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Here they meet up with Seth's mentors Toby and Milo who help destroy the witch. This story was more intense as the witch knew they were coming and some of the townspeople were in on it. The ending was fantastic because who doesn't like explosions! I'm ready for the next book. ...more

"Flame and Ash" is the third volume of "Witchbane" series, that I like a lot, written by Morgan Brice. It's not a secret that since my adventure with Seth and Evan started, I have been interested in the characters of Toby and Milo, who play such a huge role in Seth's life. However, I admit that I didn't expect that I would be able to meet them "in person". I don't know why, but I really thought that they would be just "voices on the phone" for the rest of the series. So you have no idea how happ ...more

I’m so happy to be reading Seth and Evan again! Not only that, but this story is set in Boone, North Carolina where I lived for several years…always love reading something set in a familiar locale. Plus getting back into the whole witch disciples storyline—I look forward to these two guys continuing to take these baddies down. Even better was that this time around, Seth’s mentors Toby and Milo join them to help, plus we get introduced to a new couple, one of whom is the target this time around. ...more

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review.  Seth is still on the hunt of the witch-disple that killed his brother with Evan there to help him. The two make their way to Boone, North Carolina to help save another descendant of the men that hung a dark witch. With the helping hands from Milo and Toby, can the save the next targeted man? Or is this one more cunning in his ways? This was such a great read, love the witchbane novels. Highly recommend these books for an ...more

Another enjoyable paranormal romp with 'hunter-duo' Seth and Evan as they reach North Carolina to dispatch the next witch-disciple before he sacrifices the next male in the Henshaw family line. Coming along for the fun and games are Seth's 'gay step-parents' - older hunter-pair Milo and Toby who provide back-up man-power as well as strategic planning and magic-craft.

I appreciate the changing locales to this series as Seth and Evan traverse the length and breadth of the land to hunt down these t

I love this series and these guys, so from very happy to read the next in the series. An added bonus was Seth’s mentors and stand in dads Milo and Toby playing a big part in the story. After several cameos from them in previous books, it was great to get to know them ‘on screen.’ I loved their banter, and it’s obvious that they’re very much in love. I liked the way they accepted Evan as part of their family.

One of my favourite things about this author is the crossovers with other series. The p

Flame and Ash is the most recent addition to the Witchbane series and I think the best one thus far. Mostly that is because so much of the universe has been created by this point that the individual storytelling is freed up. You really are best served if you have read the previous two books and the novella to fully appreciate this book.

Seth and Evan are headed to NC in this book to deal with yet another witch-disciple before he can take another sacrifice. They are meeting Toby and Milo which mak

A fantastic urban fantasy that will engage your mind and heart.  I loved the  journey through spells, hexes, witches, ghosts and so much more in this fascinating read.  This was a one sitting read for me because i could not put it down.  I loved getting to know about Seth's adopted family, Milo and Toby, they are terrific characters .  The story-line was compelling and i was surprised a few times.  I loved the writing and the characters just get better and better.

I have to say, this wasn't my favorite entry in the series. There's nothing really wrong with it. I don't know if maybe my mood was just off but it kind of felt like I was reading the same story...again. Seth and Evan find an evil sorceror (I already forgot which term is used in the book, just go with it), they investigate for a few days, then there's the big fight, evil guy dies, Seth and Evan ride off to find the next witch-disciple (there's the term)

Seth and Evan are still fighting to keep all the other descendants alive. This was an enjoyable book and I really liked reading about Toby and Milo more, instead of being on the other end of the phone, they are there in person and kicking ass. Fighting spirits and witch-disciples, Seth and Evan are also trying to build their relationship into something more stable and lasting.
What I love about this series is how the author pulls the men & women from the other series into this one, I like the ov

Another enjoyable read in the series this time the boys team up with Toby and Milo, the hunters who trained Seth and are like family to him.
This relationship added another dynamic to the interactions with Evan and Seth able to envisage a 'forever' life together.
I like the way these books are interconnected (Simon played a part in this one). I do wonder if the author intends to write a book for each disciple of if she intends for a final showdown with the disciples coming together as a group. As

Flame and Ash is the next book in the Witchbane series by Morgan Brice. If you remember correctly, this was the series I struggled with, but wow! This one kicks up the action and the heat. Seth and Evan need to watch their backs, but they have another team to help them.

The book started a bit slow, but when it picked up, it was full-throttle. The characters are becoming more developed and more interesting, and the plot is getting more intriguing. So many twists and turns to keep you read. I'm re

Narrator: Mr. Kale Williams
I jumped on this audio because it contained two of my favorite things, an amazing paranormal from Morgan Brice and narration from Mr. Williams. What a dynamic combination! I loved Kale’s melodic tone, and he did a masterful job in bringing this thrilling, roller coaster of novel to life! The variety of different voices was impressive. Seth and Evan have such chemistry, and this creative audio highlighted their solid relationship. The portrayal of the e

This is a great series!

The Witchbane series has been an unusual one for me… I usually prefer to read series in order but I’ve been reading the Witchbane series in reverse order and it really has been fine to do it that way. Morgan Brice does a great job of giving the reader background information needed for the characters and yet it shouldn’t feel redundant for someone who has read them in order.

I’ve really come to appreciate how the different

I have to say that if I want to read paranormal mystery there are 2 authors I know at the top of my head that will provide a good read and one of them is Morgan Brice.

The thing is that the reads, as good as they are, they never have that zing for me that will propel them to amazing and unforgettable. And the same was here as well. Seth and Evan going after another witch disciple. They do their thing and around 70-75% they fight the bad guy. The only thing different here is that Milo and Toby are

Seth & Evan back again (an audio review)

I’m enjoying the Witchbane series. I remember the first book was a little shaky for me, but I’ve since settled into the stories quite nicely. Seth lost his brother violently to a supernatural force and once he determined the pattern of victims, he made it his mission to prevent further killings, thereby weakening the otherworldly creatures. He saved Evan’s life and, having lost everything, Evan decided to join Seth on his quest. But he’s a graphic artist w

When their lives are on the line, will love be enough?

This time around we find the boys in the Blue Ridge Mountains facing their greatest challenge to-date and being hunted by the very being they are hunting. It was great to go on this adventure with the boys and see how they were holding up both romantically and individually. Doubts still resurface from time to time, but their connection was still holding strong and their chemistry? Well, that’s something I’ll let you find out for yourself.

This says four but description says book three.
You really do need to read these in order but I read ( listened to this one without the others) there is enough backstory to keep you up and interested without bogging it down.
I loved the powerful attachment of Evan and Seth
The story kept you on your toes, it was nail biting suspense in places.
Exciting, gripping and sexy.
I listened to the audio and if you can afford it, highly suggest. Or buy the book and whisper sync. I loved the narrators smoot

Of course I start on the fourth book in the series! It was sooo good! Seth and Evan are witch hunters looking for the ten witch-disciples of a dark warlock Gremory. Gremory was killed a hundred years ago and one of the descendants of who killed him now must pay with their lives. Seth’s brother Jesse died at the hands of one of the disciples and now he’s trying to kill all of them so that no one more innocents have to die. This is a fantastic urban fantasy story!! Flame and Ash is Book 4 in the Witchbane series. This is an intense action packed paranormal story and a wonderful addition to the series as Seth and Evan hunt down the next witch-disciple. This is the third book in the series and must be read in the series order for maximum enjoyment.

In this installment, we see Seth and Evan joining forces with Milo and Toby to combat an ancient killing spree.

The world building of this series is absolutely brilliant and the storyline keeps getting more and more engaging with every book.

I love the author's writing style. The characters were likeable, relatable, and well fleshed out.

The narrator did a great job on the audio delivery and narration

Seth and Evan have their work cut out for them here. Having to try to figure out their relationship while fighting a truly evil opponent leaves little breathing room for them or the reader. They will be tested emotionally and physically here both individually and as a couple. I hate to see the end of this series, but can't wait for volume five. ...more
