Wonderfully fantastic... The book was amazing... It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it... The characters and their personalities match them perfectly... The plot and the storyline was very descriptive and amazing...

Jenna is an active member of the Paranormal Victim’s Society and a deadly fighter who was trained in several martial arts. She’s also a hybrid with a fascination for vampires and resentment for werewolves, so when she comes face to face with her soulmate – a werewolf alpha, she does the only thing that comes to mind- she tries to kill him. By trying to do the right thing, Alexander has put himself in the cross hairs of a powerful vampire. After being mateless for decades, he wasn’t expecting to find his soulmate amidst a battle or that she would despise what he was.
This exciting romance has lots emotional turmoil that has the ups and downs of a roller coaster flowing from the pages as the relationship between Jenna and Alexander starts off on the wrong foot and only continues to get rockier. It’s a good thing that there is lots of sizzling chemistry between them and that they are trapped in an underwater research facility so that the sexy alpha has a few days to try to convince Jenna that she has nothing to fear from him.
The steady paced plot keeps readers engaged with lots of heated clashes, suspense, snark and excitement and that is just in the first half of the book. By the time, readers reach the second half of the book, a rival pack is attacking Alexander’s pack and causing chaos and destruction, so readers can’t help but enjoy all of this excitement and passion found in this romance.
Emotionally thrilling, Sexy fun, action packed and engaging romantic adventure filled with danger, mistrust, mystery and undeniable passion..... was a highly entertaining and exciting read that was hard to put down once I started reading.
The plot was definitely interesting and well thought out as it all comes together nicely done with unexpected twist and turns to really be excited to read.
Jenna Hawthorn, a member of the Paranormal Victims Society and a deadly fighter trained in several martial arts, hates werewolves. She herself is part werewolf-part human; her werewolf father had forced himself on her human mother and then tried to kill her because she wasn’t a pureblood werewolf. But she survived and Jenna’s human step-father taught her to fight and become the tough loyal woman she was.
Right now, Jenna is in an underwater compound trying to find her kidnapped friend, Jade. The female who tried to stop her expected no trouble – Jenna smelled like a human. But Jenna aimed a fist and when the teen moved exactly as she anticipated she would, Jenna landed a powerful punch to her nose and mouth. Filled with anger, all of the teen’s punches were wild and reckless, showing her lack of training and skill. When she slowed to rest, Jenna knocked her unconscious.
As Jenna scented the air to find Daniel, Jade’s husband, she smelled something strange and absolutely delicious! Rounding the corner, she saw Daniel and the delicious man fighting. She figured that because he was the Alpha, Alexander whose picture she had seen, full of power and sex appeal, that would explain her attraction to him. Another guy came at her and she slammed him upside down against the wall – apparently the teen was his sister and he was not happy that the girl was hurt. As the guy got up ready to fight Jenna, the Alpha slammed him into the wall and threatened him, saying “Mate”! The guy repeated the word “mate” – so Jenna assumed the two men were mates! Daniel was soothing Jade, obviously head-over-heels in love with her.
Alex has no idea what he is going to have to deal with! Jenna’s history with her werewolf father has definitely made her despise werewolves. Alex must call forth all of his patience to prove to her that she can trust him and that he is a worthy mate for her. The story is full of non-stop action and humor. Be prepared for the resistance and struggling as the two of them try to get to know each other without killing each other – although the killing is mostly on Jenna’s part. Can they get past the hostility? Can Jenna discover that not every werewolf is like her father? Will they be able to find a future together?
I thoroughly enjoy this author’s books! Rich in detail with the most intriguing characters, the reader is always drawn quickly into the story as the author creates a unique world and drapes it over the reader who will be fully-immersed in the details. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss! Grab your copy and see how Alex and Jenna works things out – you’re not afraid of a little blood, right?
This is the second book of the Mate series. Even if there is a continuing plot from the first book, this book can be read as a standalone since I read this book without reading the first one in the series. It was a little bit confusing at first but the story is still quite understandable. This is a novel narrated in multiple POV but mainly focus on the new couple and sometimes we have the POV of the previous couple from the first book.
Right off the bat, we are introduced to a very physically strong and totally kickass heroine. At first, I loved her, however, she quickly became annoying, stubborn, manipulative, judgmental without letting her mate prove his point without her expecting the worst in his actions, almost bipolar (even her mate accuse her to be bipolar) with the way she wants to *mate* with him one second and the next she is rejecting him... However, further on, we learned that she is traumatized by her mother's past, she is very insecure and scared that people who love her will abandon her. Overall, she is a complex heroine not at all two-dimensional which I appreciate, but she is still really annoying at times. Sometimes I am wondering why her mate wants her, and how he is so persistent and patient with her, poor her mate. Her mate seems, in comparison, the perfect book boyfriend, supportive of her even with her antics, patient, understanding, willing to give her what she wants...
Plot-wise the story follows mainly the romance between the main couple (especially the push and pull between the mates, or more precisely their numerous rounds of mating heat following by the couple fighting...). However, we also follow the continuing plot with the scientific experiment on the child.
Overall, it was entertaining but I was a little bit annoyed with the attitude of the heroine and how poorly she treats her mate most of the time. Also, there are some grammatical errors that decrease my reading experience.

I enjoyed this story. It is filled with a range of different emotions some being; humour, anger, love, sexiness. Really enjoyable story line and plot as it is different than any other shifter novel I have read. Loved the characters as they have been so well written and engageable. Look forward to reading more from this author. Recommend reading.

I enjoyed reading this story. It blends pretty good with the first book and picks up where that story ends. We are introduced to Alex, Jenna's mate in this story and never actually met him in the previous one (just got a few details at the end of the last book). This is the second book in the series and I would recommend reading the first one to have a good handle on what is going on in the first part of this book. It all does get explained and you could start with this one, but you will probably have a little feeling of missing some information the first few chapters. I did enjoy the characters and getting to know them better. Alex definitely has his work cut out for him with Jenna. She is gunshy and doesn't want anything to do with a werewolf mate. Alex used patience and showed her who he is and that he was trustworthy. There is definitely some action in this story. There's some fighting and dangers that the characters have to face so it will keep your attention. The story flowed well. The sex is explicit and the sexual chemistry and heat between them, definitely plays a part in the story as it helps give Alex his in. Overall, a good, interesting read. It will be interesting to see where the series goes from here. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I found this enjoyable paranormal shifter romance quite intriguing to read, it is the second book in the series “The Mate Series” & the continuation of the story from the first book (His Beloved) into this book is excellent, there are some character crossovers but this book is complete & standalone. The story-line & plot is well-thought out & written with emotional undercurrents & unexpected surprises, the characters are unique with complex personalities, with each of them having their own individual needs & goals. There is good support from the secondary characters. There is: a pack alpha & scientist (Alex) discovers his mate (a hybrid, Jenna) who just happens to be a member of the “Paranormal Victims Society” & she is not too impressed with this situation, vampires, humans, hybrids, werewolves, friendship, soulmates, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, mystery, humor, adventure, action, conflict, violence, danger, enemies, threats, misunderstandings attractions, complications, manipulations, verbal conflict, distrust, vulnerabilities, insecurities, emotional turmoil, compromises, heat issues, disappointment, trespassers, devious plans, rituals, vandalism, confrontation, attacks, explosions, guns blazing, justice, happiness, steamy scenes & a wonderful conclusion.
Jenna expected to kick some righteous tail, and help save her human friend Jade from a werewolf kidnapping. What she discovered when she got to the location where Jade was held was an Alpha who thought he was saving the human from a vampire assault. Hybrids. More complicated for half human Jenna, she has never met her wolf, but the idiot who took her friend smells delicious! Oops! Mate!
Crazy human Jade tries to separate the battling males, much to the concern of everyone- followed by Alexander attacking his own man trying to protect his mate Jenna. Ever have one of those days? Alexander gets his neck broken for his efforts- thankfully not a permanently killing move.
Romance for these two is clearly complicated.
Fun and action packed KU romantic adventure!
I received an advance copy from Booksprout. I read it on Kindle Unlimited.
After reading book one, I was really excited to read this one. Jenna was something else. She was awful to Alex when she found out they were mates. Enough to break his neck! My heart went out to Alex the way she used him and abused him. She was so selfish in the beginning. I did start warming up to her more after she actually got to pack lands. The attacks on the pack really drew the lines on where every one really stood. After Alex thinking that Jenna's dad didn't like him at all, he didn't hesitate helping when the time came. I loved Jenna's rescue in Daniel's plane. She really wanted to get one of them. There are so many more stories to be told here, I hope they will be forthcoming soon. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
His Mate by Anna Santos is the second book in The Mate series. In this book, Jenna goes with her vampire friend Daniel to rescue his kidnapped mate Jade. When they find the kidnapper Jenna discovers that Jade’s kidnapper Alpha werewolf Alexander (Alex) is her forever mate. This is a story full of sexual tension and arguments between Jenna and Alex as they try to find a way to come to an understanding. I loved the character Jenna and how strong she is while Alex tries to find ways to make her want to stay with him and be his mate. This story is full of exciting adventures that I loved reading about. This is the perfect book to add to any paranormal romance readers collection. His Mate is an exciting tale of two stubborn werewolves who fall in love.
This was an enjoyable story with humor, angst, steamy sex, romance, action, awesome technology, and endearing supernatural characters. It was a great follow up read to book 1 and began where that one ended. I love that Alex is not just his Pack's Alpha, he is also a brilliant scientist. His history with Jade's family was a great twist. Jenna is not just a pretty face, she is a warrior who will protect those that she cares about. The author does a great job bringing these two together and exposing their vulnerabilities and insecurities a they get to know each other, give into lust and fall in love.
Alex has been waiting for his mate for a long time, but when he meets her she is not at all what she expected, Jenna is a hybrid like himself but her past makes her wary of the wolves and for good reason. He has to be willing to earn her trust but after she impulsively asks to be marked their lives spiral headlong to an exciting conclusion, and their relationship is seriously hot. I love for it ties in with his beloved and yet has it's own unique story, a truly great book.
I really enjoyed this second book in the series. It was well written and the story and characters were well developed. I enjoyed the character continuity and thought the character dynamics were excellent. I liked watching their individual relationships develop and grow through the book. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, emotion, intrigue, hot chemistry and romance. I’d highly recommend this book and look forward to future books in the series!!

In the first book, Daniel’s brother’s name was Seth...and in this book his name is Harry. Neither book mentions Daniel having more than one brother so it leads me to believe that the author inadvertently got the name wrong. Most of the chapters were labeled with the character’s name so the reader could know who’s viewpoint they were reading with the exception of the last few. Overall, this book had the potential to be great but it was hard moving past something as big as a wrong character name.
The story started very slow. I liked Alexander but I soooo disliked Jenna. She is very childish. She keeps repeating the same thing. Jenna is a hybrid-half human/half werewolf. Her father rape her mom & then try to killed her so because of that she hates werewolf. Alexander is also hybrid. He is the alpha & a smart scientists. So for the 1st 9 chapter she avoid being with him since she was afraid of have a werewolf as a mate. I lost complete interest in the book when they start adding jades & Daniel's point of view. I didn't like that & found it boring.
This was a really Good read with intriguing characters that are real for their belives - Jenna's hate for werewolves, it was understandable knowing what she know but that got on my nerve from Time to Time. Alexander was so so sweet and caring! I liked him so much! Plot was following The same timeline of events as His Beloved. Some truths are revealed and Im still so curious on Stivie and who is he (how he was "created"), will There be some kind of conficts?
His Mate: Paranormal Werewolf Romance by Anna Santos is a wonderful story to read. This is book number two in this wonderful series that I loved reading. I can not wait to see what this author writes next cause I loved reading this story so much, I highly recoomend this story to everyone who loves reading about werewolves.

Second book in the series. What do you do when you hate wolf shifters and find out your the mate to one? Kill him I guess is a possible answer. Jenna definitely has some issues but I can’t really blame her. And Alex must be the most understanding male in existence for putting up with her. Expect some fighting and even some with bad guys. But this is a romance and Alex won’t stop until he wins he heart and will never let he go.
I have enjoyed reading this series . I loved the flow of the books . It was romance and action and suspense but not too much of any of them. A lot of books become boring to me because they drag on too long on one subject but not Anna’s books. She always delivers a good round enjoyable read. I can’t wait for the next book. I would like to see It be about Sam. Also the boy .
She hates werewolves and she will do anything to stop them.even killing them. She does not expect to get one as a mate and when she does she tries to.kill him. They are locked up together and he knows he has only.a short time to make her trust him. What will happen? Will she fall in love with him? See what will happen

Alex is a werewolf and pack alpha. Jenna is a hybrid who doesn't like werewolves and is a member of the Paranormal Victims Society. So when she finds out she is Alex's mate how will she react? His Mate is a steamy read and it is book two in The Mate series. Alex and Jenna's story is filled with humor, mystery, suspense, drama, angst, steam and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
What happens when you're a hybrid, trying to save your best friend, who's been kidnapped from her Vampire mate, by a sexy Alpha wolf??? Well, a lot of action, confusion and some romance thrown in there as well, that's what. Did I mention that the sexy Alpha is the Mate of the no-nonsense, I don't want a mate, hybrid, bestie...I know a little confusing right? Well this follow-up to 'His Beloved" doesn't disappoint!!!
The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world that was created.
The descriptions of the characters and their feelings are so involved, you can truly picture it in your mind. Their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.

The author writes a very good paranormal romance. I love the way they meet! This is a fast paced book that contains problems within the group along with trouble from outside too. Part of the problem is that one of them hates what the other one is ! How can love come from that ?

This book was full of great characters. The author set the tone of the book and the reader was immediately thrown into the storyline along with an awesome female lead. I loved what she did upon meeting her mate. That was so perfectly written as something her character would do. The author wrote a wonderful story and I recommend this book.
I enjoyed this story. It flowed very well and wasn't rushed. I like how it wasn't like other books where once they find out that they are mates, they are instantly together and love each other. Jenna made Alexander work for her trust. Overall it was a wonderful story and I would recommend it to any and everyone.
I really need to stop starting series with the second book! This one at least has a decent synopsis to bring one up to speed and is in the same universe as Archangel's Kiss and Archangel's Fire. Takes a day to read and is definitely adult.
