Life gets pretty boring when you can beat the snot out of any villain with just one punch.

Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!

OMG, the Child Emperor is GUNDAM! Or Inspector Gadget. Or Inspector Gadget who is SECRETLY Gundam in disguise! :)

What a battle between him and Big Bird. Seriously funny stuff that also serves as a harrowing epic battle. :)

And as for the rest? Everyone gets it ON. Fun. Very fun.

What happened to this series?

200+ pages and Saitama's only appearance is on the cover. No primary characters appear. No secondary characters appear save one very brief cameo. There is only one joke. Instead we get a parade of tertiary characters we have zero investment in fighting random monsters we have even less investment in.

At least Murata's art remains fantastic, but it's clear ONE is getting less and less involved in this series as it progresses, to the point where the humor and charm that

Fight's not over till the Pig God sings!

With so many high class heroes taking the fight to the Monster Association's base of operations to save one victim we get to see some super impressive (and sometimes scary) displays of why they are the cream of the crop when talking about the best of the best heroes. Of course with Saitama lost he is no longer a character to be concerned about until his deadpan musings and all powerful punch will be needed giving so many heroes a chance to shine at last a

OOOHHH so Child Emperor didn't just get the S-Class title because he is smart. He indeed has potential to be in much higher rank. He has some cool gears! I didn't expect it though.

What a pain for Child Emperor. He found a formidable opponent. OMG.

Okay. What if Child Emperor is right? Which I think he is since Gyoro had been telling Garou that by him dying many times, he can get stronger when he become Monster. Well that's unfortunate. Such a pain.

OMG What the heck. That phoenix resurrected! Well

Oh man, this is an awesome volume. I mean, we all love these "base" attack arcs in both anime and manga. It is a very effective way of putting spotlight across all characters, which in this case, the Class S heroes and at the same time provides an avenue to just go crazy with badassery.

Volume 21 is mostly about Flashy Flash and Child Emperor, and a bit of Atomic Samurai. The fight scenes are topnotch in quality and execution. ONE made the readers sure what Class S heroes are capable of. He concr

This was a solid volume. I like getting to see the Class S heroes shine more in this one, since the Class A heroes took center stage in the previous volume. I particularly like that we are getting to see more of Child Emperor he cracks me up. Not because he himself is funny but just the idea of this kid as a Class S hero amuses the hell out of me!

A stunningly drawn battle between child-genius and undying phoenix. Their constant grinding for victory and surprises makes this an exciting and explosive confrontation that makes for one of the quickest reads yet.

One-Punch Man, Vol. 21 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next five chapters (97–101) of the on-going manga series with a bonus story.

The tankōbon continues the Monster Association Arc and centers on Child Emperor rescuing and evacuating Waganma, the son of Narinki, a high-raking executive and one of the primary sponsors of the Hero Association. The tankōbon focuses on his battle with Phoenix Man, a monster who has the uncanny ability of resurrection into a more powe

Back to waiting a year or longer to find out what happens. Saitama had very little screen time, for being the cover picture. Although, I understand why.

Also, I remember not liking the Child Emperor, thinking he was just a genius spoiled brat. My opinion has greatly altered. I really like him as a character. Tornado is still an annoying brat. Can't expect her to change. I find myself longing for her to get a good butt whooping by either a monster or, more preferably, Saitama. Blizz

ARC provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

So, this volume marks the true beginning of the S-Class Hero's (and company's) infiltration of Monster Association's hideout, and while not a tonne happened, and we didn't see Saitama once, it seems ONE is going to finally be giving some more background on all of the S-Class Hero's. This volume highlights Flashy Flash, and Child Emperor. All in all, this volume was a lot of fun. Flashy Flash used to be a ninja/assassin, and he's fast

Mild Spoilers- less a review and more of my own notes to Keep track.

So no Saitama again this volume. The class S heroes are battling alongside the weakling shite heroes to gain entrance to the monster headquarters underground, in order to rescue the boy who's been held captive.

Master Atomic flaunts his skills in such an understated yet amazing way, seemingly shredding the very atoms of his victims, starting with Rhino dude.

The little dudes get put to shame by the clear, real heroes.

Blackluster,

Another action packed volume, the art is still just perfect. They story follows the heroes infiltating the monster association, mainly focused on Flash Flash as he just obliterates monsters. You also get a bit of Child Emperor, which I was surprised that I enjoyed reading about him so much.

I find it funny that Saitama is on the cover but he's not included in the volume, in fact none of the main players are. There is no Genos, King, Bang or even Blizzard. I do love the fact that this series star

Still no Saitama! He must be taking a nap or something. The quest to find and rescue Waganma continues, with the Class S heroes getting involved. There's a fight with Flashy Flash getting attacked by Tempest Wind and Hellfire Flame that has the makings of a great filler episode in the anime, and Child Emperor gets to show off a lot of his gadgets and his fighting prowess against Phoenix Man. Sooooo much fight-fight in this volume! Seriously, it's almost entirely fight scenes. The book ends just ...more

Another Volume of lost of fighting with not much progress in the story. Highlights:
- Atomic Samurai vs Rhino-Wrestler
- Puri-Puri Prisoner and Tornado show off against some minor monsters
- Flashy Flash (are we really running out of names or this supposed to be that bad?) vs Hellfire Flame and Tempest Wind
- Child Emperor manages to save Waganma, but has to go through Phoenix Man and the Resurrected Phoenix Man

... and the fight continues... another Volume without Saitama.

The one with the most action. Not too much advancing in the plot. The lack of dialogues helped to read it fast, even for a graphic story. But its ok. Cool.
