At this high school, instead of jocks and nerds, the students are divided into predators and prey.
At a high school where the students are literally divided into predators and prey, it’s personal relationships that maintain the fragile peace. Who among them is a Beastar—an academic and social role model destined to become a leader in a society naturally rife with mistrust?

It kills me a little to have to wait 2 months in between volumes, but I'm always so happy when these arrive. Beastars remains an auto-buy for me, as the quality of the story remains high. I inhale these when they first arrive, and I reread them at a more leisurely pace every couple of volumes to revisit the story.

Beastars remains the weirdest concept with the best execution.
Holy shit do things pop off in this volume. We start with some straight-up accidental violence and FINALLY get an answer to who killed Tem in the very first volume! I was not expecting that to be resolved at ALL in this, at least not at this point in the series, so that was an exciting approach. Pina remains one of the coolest newer characters that I am desperate to get more out of.

3.5 star. Of course my favorite aspect of this manga is Legosi and Haru. Their relationship is crazy complex and I want to see where is goes. But the story contradicts itself an awful lot. It's honestly getting too annoying and I'm hoping it has to do with translation errors. I mean like Legosi's grandfather is a pacifist and then 2 seconds later he is spilling everyones blood. Another example is instead of calling the cops Legosi fights this bad guy and then does something else really crazy I d

Who’s ready to hear me fangirl about ‘Beastars’ yet again? No one? That’s alright, because I’m going to do it anyway!
Volume 9 sees Tem’s murderer unmasked by Legoshi via a clever test prompted by the kiss that he shared with the aggressor. Seeing how everything occurred on that fateful night was nothing short of horrific, even when one considers that the killer didn’t necessarily have bad intentions to begin with. Legoshi ...more

Thank you to NetGalley, VIZ Media, and Paru Itagaki for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
FYI: BEASTARS is on my auto-buy list and I really cannot get enough of this series. I get the chance to read it early, which is awesome and appreciated, but this is certainly a manga worth owning and reading over and over and over again!

The drama continues to unfold! It’s really fitting that so many of the characters are in, or were in, the drama club and now I’m starting to see the intentional design of that. I’m also really interested to see what roles the newly introduced characters will play going forward. New threads keep getting woven into the story and sometimes I begin to lose sight of where we started or where this could be heading and how the start and finish relate. Still, it’s so worth it to keep reading and guessin

This volume is probably my favorite in the series to this point.
There is a MAJOR REVEAL in this particular volume, that we have been waiting on since the first chapter. We also get to see another side of Pina, our character on the cover.
We also get some time with Louis and Legoshi, and I continue to truly enjoy the journey of this series! Don't give up! Keep going! ...more

Well that's one way to turn up the drama real fast. Not even 5 pages in and we've dismembered someone.

Oh, this was a good volume. We see MAJOR plot developments on many levels- also lots of fun moments, moments of How Dare You, and some cool worldbuilding details.

WOW! Thrilled that I was able to read Vol.9 in advance thanks to Netgalley. Really excited about the story plot! We finally get to see Louis and Legoshi together, and we get to see more clues of who the murderer is. I can't wait for the next volume.
