Recommends it for:
manga readers shoujo lovers
Shelves:

This is slowly becoming one of the best manga I've read (shoujo of course). The story is refreshing and packed with cute moments, drama and slow romance. The characters are great as well.

Turns out that kissing your stepsister might cause problems and have repercussions, who would have thought?
I will give Io Sakisaka this much - she can write good characters even if the story is what I would politely put as below her usual standards.
And part of that is certainly my own bias against that ridiculous sibling pseudo-incest trope (you can find a variant of this rant smeared across any review of mine for any book that features it), but Strobe Edge this is not.

So cute. I'm way more invested in Rio and Yuna than Akari and Inui, but glad we're kind of moving past this step-sibling romance. I'm excited for Yuna's growth most of all. My favorite thing is when she stands up for Akari.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this e-copy to review. All opinions are my own.
This series plays with my emotions!
You think one thing is going to happen and then a different thing happens but then it all changes and it’s just so dang cute!
In each volume Yuna continues to blossom. She is becoming who she wants to be and isn’t let anything or anyone get in her way. I honestly feel like I should be more like her. She started off so shy and in this one she is taking the initiative.

4 stars...that last chapter is brilliant, one of the best done and placed I've read in a manga. Surpising, fresh, and making me want to both reread it (I did, twice), as well as yearn for the next volume.

I think this is my least favourite of all the story arcs but, hey, reading it in tankoubon form was much better than doing it on a monthly basis. Makes you think about how some mangaka structure their work.
So, the theme here is that sometimes you have to lie in order to not hurt someone, and that it's a mature trait that teens need to acquire. To be honest, I agree.

Advanced reader copy provided to me by the publisher on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
After the cliffhanger of the last volume, I could not wait to pick up this one! The cliffhanger didn't conclude like how I predicted but I really like the way that it did finish that subplot. I liked how the story focuses on the relationships and defining lines of friendships and how both Akari and Yuna strive to be more confident in their love lives. So Rio kissed Akari and now everything is awkward because you're not supposed to have feelings for your sister! Then there's drama and flashbacks that show exactly how complicated this situation is. (view spoiler)

No...I totally didn't binge read 3 volumes before bed...
Oh my goodness, the story just got SO GOOD! The "cliffhanger" ending of volume 3 is addressed and resolved, adding some MAJOR character growth for Rio and Akari. I found that there was more focus on the friendship aspects in this volume and I'm not complaining at all! Rio and Kazu are stupidly adorable...I'm eager to see their little "bromance" continue to grow in upcoming volumes. Yuna and Akari are opening up more in their own way; Yuna i ...more

THIS VOLUME WAS SO STINKING GOOD!!!!
There are some reveals and revelations for Rio and Akari both after the reveal at the end of vol 3. The things that they learn about each other through the course of this volume is amazing. We also see Akari grow in her feelings for another young man, and I am excited to see where that is going to go.
I'M TRYING SO HARD NOT TO SPOIL!! But it's really good! Go read it! ...more

Aw yeah finally, a freaking plot-twist! Right back at you, Rio! [chuckles]
My first read of the year! This manga has quickly become one of my favorites, so this was a fantastic way to begin my reading year! :)
Yes, Rio, fall for her! 😏
I don't care about Kazu and Akari tbh. I'm hyped for Yuna and Rio! (because Yuna reminds me of myself.) ...more
