I really wish this series would decide whether it wants to a) make me cry laughing, b) make my heart swell with joy, or c) hit me so hard in the feels I start crying. Because having all those things happen to me in the span of one volume is fucking exhausting.

There you go. That's my review. Gonna go cry now.

Haikyu!!, Vol. 41 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next eight chapters (358–365) of the on-going manga series.

The tankōbon continues the Quarterfinals of the Spring High National Tournament between Karasuno High and Kamomedai High. It starts the third set of the match with Kamomedai High taking an early lead. This particular match showcases the strength of Shōyō Hinata as the Strongest Deco against Kamoedai High’s Kōrai Hoshiumi as the Little Giant – two very short

OH MY GOD—
Man, the build up for this volume final chapter was TOTALLY INSANE. This is so sad and bitter, yet realistic at the same time. To work so hard to get into nationals and at a critical time, in a blink of eyes, WUSSS— you lost the chance to play on one of its final match. It shows how amazing this series is, bridging the gap between fiction and reality.

Also, Takeda-sensei's speech to Hinata was wonderfully written. It's not flowery and feels really genuine. What a great teacher he is

Aaaandddd with that said, welcome to The Hinata Harem Club, Atsumu and Hoshiumi! Drinks will be on your right and food to your left. Help yourselves. Sorry it's a bit cramped in here.

Ah..... the last few chapters made me fucking cry I hate it here. Why??? Why did Hinata has a fev-- fev--🤢🤢🤢 UGHHHHHHH. But then again, if it didn't happen, Hinata wouldn't be who he is now. Damn it, I'll probably be covered in snots and tears once this gets animated.

Talk about an adrenaline rush this game is turning out to be! How Furudate foreshadowed the ending of Volume 41 and what's to come for this series? Evil. Viz Media even spoiled what happened in the Volume 42 blurb, and how it was set up still took me off guard. ...more

i’ll just put this here:

“height isn’t how many meters you can jump. it’s about how many centimeters over the blockers you can go.”

and i think it defines the meaning of success.
this is my favorite volume so far.

That last chapter was a difficult one to read. I'm honestly way too heartbroken to even read on. I need another faceoff between hoshiumi and hinata. Those two and their teams are so incredible on court. ...more

hinata finally embracing his uniqueness as a person—though of course shaped by others—and allowing himself to stand on his own. to chase after a misguided desire to become the carbon copy of someone within our grasp never allows for further growth, and deflects acknowledgement of the person as an individual.

I think making the national arc finish with a sad ending is a very bold yet the PERFECT choice. This series as never been about the winners, it has only always taught you that there's always someone better than you. Letting the main characters get ALMOST to the top makes it all more realistic and enjoyable and it preventended falling into a too-happy-that-it-becomes-cringey ending. ...more

This volume is the big culmination of Hinata's character arc throughout the series, isn't it? Dude who got inspired watching a random game to become the "Little Giant", now battling out to prove who deserves to be the "Little Giant" and who deserves to be... something else. And this ends with a heartbreak I don't know how to handle. ...more
