Need to start the year off right with a good manga. Well, with the Upper Moon 2 demon defeated by a very long gambit, it only leaves 2 more lieutenants before the big bad. Upper Moon 2 was truly the most purely evil of the Upper Moon demons, the narrative doesn't even give him a post-death woobie sympathy scene like with all the other demons. The Upper Moon 4 is controlling the actual setting of the battlefield and Upper Moon 1 is pretty-much Mike Tyson-ing every one who he goes against (view sp

Holy fuck, holy fuck, HOLY FUCK, Shinobu is the fucking best! Holy shit, I did NOT see that coming and it was FUCKING GLORIOUS! The finale to Shinobu's, Kanao's, and Inosuke's fight against Doma was SO FUCKING SATISFYING! Not to mention the fight was so fucking intense and Kanao got a glow up and HOLY SHIT, IT WAS AWESOME!
This whole volume was awesome fight scene after awesome fight scene and the shounen fangirl in me was not prepared for it, I nearly died of bliss. I'm bummed that I didn't get ...more

We finish up the fight with Inosuke and Kanao verse upper rank 2 and holy shit what a ending.
To see both Ino and Kanao work together is great and the surprise of fighting the Rank 2 at the end was both really well done, sad, and wonderful all at once. But we don't have time to breath (no pun intended) as the Rank 1 demon appears to face off against not 1, not 2, but 3 fucking Hashira. Can Gyomei, Tokito, and Sanemi stop the rank 1 demon or is it over before it began?

Everyone made me sad in this volume! Shinobu, Kanao, Inosuke, Genya, and even Sanemi, who I really didn't like all that much. But ugh Genya!! I was about to lose my shit. I thought something fatal was about to happen.
I'm ready for Gyomei to fuck shit up in the next volume!! What a man. ...more

One by one Demon Slayer get close to Muzan but they lose so much in the process as well. After so many chapters, the main man Kokushibo aka the Upper Moon 1 comes out. Apparently, Muichiro is a descendant of a powerful swordsman that Kokushibo knew in the past. Like Upper Moon 6 (the one Zenitsu one shot) he is also a swordsman. We are still not sure if Kokushibo is the mysterious swordsman that Tanjiro keeps seeing in his visions. Pretty much everyone gathers in one place and ...more

The s**t is certainly hitting the fan now... o.o;;
We've got the conclusion to Inosuke and Kanae's battle against Douma, the beginning of a battle against the new #4, and - most importantly of all - a new focus against an enemy that may just be impossible to defeat.
...I predict the deaths of good guys. Perhaps many deaths ._.
These guys are screwed.
Chapter notes below for personal reference: (potentially spoiler heavy)

After the amazing battles in the last volume, this one is a little disappointing. Doma's battle did not continue or conclude with nearly as much gravity and impact as I was hoping it would. I didn't like how Kanao and Inosuke were able to defeat him. It felt unearned. I think this might have to primarily do with the lack of progress that I have seen with Inosuke's skills, and the poor setup for Kanao's smoking gun against Doma. In addition, Doma is the second most powerful demon among the Kizuki

The beauty of Inosuke and Kanae's way of cutting the upper demon's head was trully fascinating. Inosuke was really gifted when it comes to fighting, and he is wise.
Then moving on to Tokitou and Genya fighting Upper Demon One. Man! I thought they're both gonna die!

I don't remember if I know about the (view spoiler) but I was shocked.

I loved this book. So amazing story grabbed me from start to finish. Never a dull moment I tell you. There were moments when I was on edge. When he ended turning into a demon I nearly lost it but everything turned out great.
I would recommend to any lover of a good story, filled with action and thriller.

By far my favourite volume of the series, holy crow, made me sob so unexpectedly (I have only once cried while reading but never with a manga), I think this volume has cemented this series as my favourite of what I've read.
