On a mission with the Intergalactic Intelligence Agency to stop human abductions, Hack tracks the slave traders from Cosmos Resort and Dating Agency, an alien singles vacation spot, to a cruise ship. The resort introduced voluntary humans to aliens as prospective mates. The keyword was voluntary. The humans on this boat had chosen to have their memories wiped because they wanted nothing to do with aliens. Just as Hack is closing in on the slavers, he’s struck by lightning, short-circuiting his shapeshifting nanobots and cutting him off from his team. In an effort to hide, he uses the last of his strength to make himself look human before passing out in the closest bed.
Aspiring ocean videographer, Jeannie Havers has a hot lead on a rare shark spotting. She’d love for them to star in her latest documentary that shone a spotlight on sharks declining numbers and their importance to the ecosystem. With her last few dollars, she books a cheap cruise to a singles resort near the sighting. She has seven days to find them. That is until she wakes up with the worst hangover ever next to hottest man in the world. And he claims they are soulmates.
Hack’s new face makes him weirdly irresistible to the local human women and impossible to go unnoticed by the slavers, but he’s stuck like this until his nanobots recover. Worse, his soulmate is one of the humans who had chosen to have her memories wiped because she didn’t want to be mated to an alien. Could he spend the rest of his life pretending to be human?
Annie Nicholas hibernates in the rural, green mountains of Vermont where she dreams of different worlds, heroes, and heroines. When spring arrives the stories pour from her, in hopes to share them with the masses one day.
Mother, daughter, wife are some of the hats she happily wears while trudging after her cubs through the hills and dales. The four seasons an inspiration and muse.
Okay, I REALLY liked this book, in particular. It deals with "fated mates," which is my FAVORITE. When Hack met Jeannie, he just KNEW she was destined to be his.
She, of course, had no idea. Lol! Imagine the interesting situations that conjured.
I liked Jeannie because yes, she was an independent woman and yes, she took care of herself, yadda yadda yadda, but Annie worded something differently, which gave me a new way to think of things; Jeannie's assertiveness towards others where Hack was concerned (no spoilers) was protective. She was sticking up for him when he otherwise couldn't. I always read about the heroes trying to be protective of the heroines, never really the other way around. I really liked that show of strength.
As usual, lots of action, mystery and humor (Hack's outfit in the beginning is a RIOT!), and I can't wait to read more!!!
(I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

This was a sweet story telling us how Heck met Jeannie and how they worked together to further the same of breaking the case of the slave traders abducting women from Earth. It was nice to experience an alien that was helpless and the inventive ways that he managed to handle the situation while furthering the investigation. I loved the way the relationship between Hack and Jeannie developed. Well written and easy to read and understand. Does contain some sexual content.
A thoroughly enjoyable read with great and interesting interpretations of alien technology
I really enjoy this book. I'm looking forward to the next in the series about Crypto. I did read a short excert of it and I'm looking forward to reading the full book. It sounds very interesting. I liked the differences between the 3 main characters of the series. The difference in the nanos that they had, and their alien physiology . it is well thought out well written. The books are a little short but for the price they are worth it.
I liked this book because it was funny. Funny in that the main female character fell for one of the aliens she was attempting to forget. A tech savvy alien named Hack overwhelmed her server and the two ended up fighting slavers and finding love. I am really enjoying this series.
This is the second book in the Cosmos Alien Mail Order Bride series and it picks up where book one ends but is now centered around Hack and his mate Jeannie. I enjoyed seeing how the relationship between the two of them developed as well as how the overall tory is going. I look forward to learning more about Crypto in the next book of the series.
Hack couldn't get any good breaks, except finding his fated mate. I like that his team mates are each different species. It makes life more interesting. I also liked that Hack cared about his nanobots like sentient creature. It was cute.
This was a delightfully entertaining paranormal sci-fi suspense tale!
This story begins with Hack, shortly after we left him at the end Trace (the proceeding volume in this series). There is an awful lot of back-story dispensed in the first part of chapter one, but all of it is well-handled; such that I believe anyone just picking up this novel would be able to follow along. Of course, having read the prior story gives a lot more insight not only into the current situation, but into the main players as well.
Hack is the main male protagonist here. As his name suggests, he has an affinity with technology, including the highly advanced nanobots that his team uses to not only change their appearance as necessary for disguise, but to assist in all manner of spy matters. Unfortunately, Hack's nanos are mostly obliterated by a lightning strike, and so he is at a distinct disadvantage in trying to perform his duties without full use of his normal skill set. Then there's the matter of him finding his fated mate and being more than a little distracted by her presence.
Jeannie works as a nature documentary film crew, and is in fact at the resort under somewhat false pretenses and on quasi-assignment. She isn't looking for a man, but rather a particular type of shark that she is hoping to get footage of for a future endeavor. Jeannie actually feels an immediate affinity to Hack, but doesn't recognize their soulmate bond for what it is, having had no experience with such things in the past.
There are fewer peripherary characters in this episode, and only short encounters with the ones who do make an appearance. Still, it is fun to see (or at least hear) some old friends from the prior volume, even in limited quantities.
Once again, the main feel of the book is upbeat and happy, much as you would imagine things to be at a lovely island resort. But there definitely are machinations in the works by the slave traders, and there is a fair amount of menace promoted by them.
Like most middle books of any trilogy, this one advanced things with the main story arch only minimally, mostly serving as a place keeper until - hopefully! - things can be resolved in the final book. Which, of course, will be centered on Crypto, who as of the end of this book is missing in action, so it should be quite the finale!
I received an eBook copy of this title from the author, and have willingly provided an honest review.
There is a good chunk of back story in the first chapter if you haven't read book 1 (why not?!?!?!)
Hack would be a techie geek if he was human. But he comes from a watery planet and is almost sharklike in his natural form. He was exild from his planet due to resource scarcity and is now with the IIA. He has been charged, along with the rest of his team, to investigate the abduction of humans whoare then sold into slavery across the galaxy.
Whilst chasng after the cruise ship, that contains those humans who either were not ready for a mate or freaked out at the thought of alien mates, Hack's nanos are fried and now he's essentially human and stuck in his nano generated human-like form.
Jeannie works with a film crew, filming nture in all its glory. She has a special affinity with shaks. She just thinks she has the hangover from hell when she awakes to find a strapping 6ft plus, sexy stud in her bed. But sadly she is still in her nightwear and no sexytimes occurred!
But she and Hack get along swimmingly and he decided to stick close for the foreseeable future, he's just found his mate! Now he just has to convince her that what they have is more than a fling.
This is a tight story with very few characters involved. It made for some tens scenes with the bad guys as you really feel that it is just Hack and Jeannie up against them. There are some wee glimpses of the others in the team but this really is the Hack and Jeannie show.
Hack was determined to rescue the poor kidnapped women but after lightning almost knocked him out of battle, things got tough. His body was no longer working well, his soulmate was at his fingertips and he needed help. There is a saying that says, 'so much swimming to die on the shore' and Jeannie Havers' luck was already cast. It doesn't matter if her memory was erased or what she did the result would be the same. The strong attraction between Hack and Jeannie was immediate but there were some doubts and there was still to see how they were going to survive the predicament in which they were into. This aqua-man was intriguing, funny and sexy. I'm trying hard to visualize his actual form with the descriptions provided by the story. Liked the romance, the passion, how Jeannie make her mind and the HEA. Now, I’m waiting for Crypto. Voluntarily reviewed this entertaining, interesting and amusing story.
Book Review: Hack: Cosmos Alien Mail Order Bride #2: Intergalactic Dating Agency Author: Annie Nicholas My Rating: 5 Stars Reviewed by: Tammy Payne- Book Nook Nuts
REVIEW I am loving this Mail Order Bride World... This is the second story in this wickedly funny dating agency world. Hack we met in book one, he is the brainy nerd of the bunch? Well he will need all his nerdiness to get him through his battle ahead. Although Hack isn't looking for anything but the human traffickers he has someone looking at him. And she is lying beside him. Jeannie went on a trip to find a rare shark but she hooks something much sexier. This story is sexy, funny and we get action... Loved it !!
I really enjoyed this sequel to Book 1, Trace. Humans need rescuing from the alien sex trade business and now it's Hack's turn to use his skills to try and stop this illegal situation. Well, he does move their investigation forward but manages to find trouble along the way, as well as a human mate. Jeannie was the perfect match to him, loving the ocean, being independent and open minded....all great traits when you find out you're crushing on an alien from an aquatic world ;) What follows is an adventure full of danger, action and sizzling romance. I found this story fast paced, well written and very descriptive, allowing me to lose myself fully to the story. Well done!
She Studies Sharks – He is an Alien with Gills – Meant to Be?!?
Short, sweet and sexy. She came to the island to study sharks – not be matched with an alien, so she also had her memories wiped. Hack is working to stop those who are stealing humans from the island. When he is struck by lightning, and his nano-technology stops working he must pose as human until he can contact his team.
Sparks fly between these two. But Hack knows she did not want a match – and now he knows she is his intended mate. Loved these characters and this story!!
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
We again meet Hack, an alien who is attempting to help save trafficked humans on Earth, with Annie Nicholas’ book 2 in her Cosmos Alien Mail Order Brides-Intergalactic Dating Agency series.
With knowledge of all things technical, Hack finds himself in a situation he has not experienced before, when he chances upon his mate.
This is a fun and sexy read that highlights just how similar relationships are, no matter the planet!
They're back to rescue the abducted humans and when Hack and lightening changes his plans he ends up having to try and regenerate his nanobots. And then he meets Jeannie and as they say his life was never going to be the same again. The story is fun, has action and of course romance. Plus you get to see more of Hack's teckie side. It's a definite must read! I can't wait for the next book, bound to be just as good!
A wonderful continuation of this series. this one is about Hack and his adventures while trying to find who is kidnapping human women. It leads him to a cruise ship where he encounters his soul mate but things don't go smoothly for him! Jeannie is working on a documentary filming trying to film a rare shark and ends up on the cruise ship a fast paced book with plenty of fun and adventure and a really great storyline and characters. looking forward to more in this series.
OMG what a way to meet your mate and then nearly lose it all. I loved this book and I’m glad that the female Jeannie was written as a strong and fearless type of woman. She real did suit Hack to a tee. I bet she even has some hidden tech talent that we don’t know about. Now looking forward to reading Crypto’s story.
Wonderful second book in the Intergalactic Dating Agency series. Love the action, romance and characters that are smart, witty and can think on their feet. Very enjoyable and I look forward to reading more. Enjoy!
Another book in the series and I loved it. Hack an undercover agent sent to find out about human females disappearing. Jeanne is holidaying out looking for rare sharks. There’s adventure, mystery ,kidnapping and soulmates. A very good entertaining read. Voluntary reviewed this book
