Was recommended to me by a good friend and was caught of gaurd on how good this book actually is.

The way she introduces magic as fresh and creative, her word choice and structuring of sentences pulled me closer closer always wondering whats next.

The villian was written very well and it was refreshing seeing both a good and bad side of the characters.

A real page turner and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the fantasy genre.

A thoroughly enjoyable read. Thalia has an excellent command of world-building, especially her magic system. She goes into great detail in order for the reader to truly understand why her world is the way it is. Her characters are well developed and intriguing. I'm excited to read what happens next! ...more

Brilliant book a definitely recommend for anyone who loves fiction. As for a comment left by a reader : A book is to be enjoyed and quite frankly I have never thought that someone can get themselves emerged in any book while checking for spelling error. While comparing any book to the Lord of the rings that must have take weeks to check all the spelling. A true fiction reader is transported into the world the book creates and that is why you read fiction. Well done to Thalia Lopes for her first ...more

-Want Sanderson-esque Magic system? Damn right, it has that too!
-Want to read about a world that actually integrates Magic into its culture & technology? Might I introduce you the author? A literal scientist loves world building from the ground up.
-Want a story about a handsome psychopath with a Machiavellian personality type that's a cross between Julius Caesar & Griffith from Berserk? The book has one!
-Want a young Assassin that is probably the only sane person in the story? Got him!
