I loved Jade and Thomas’s story! A magical ring passed down from generation to generation to bring lovers together. Thomas was trusted with the ring by his father Laird of Clan Kincaid. Thomas accidentally loses the ring when it falls through time. Hundreds of years in the future Jade is walking along the beach when the ring magically appears. This is a wonderful story of two people who belong together but born hundreds of of years apart so they never should have met. Loss love and family rifts healed. Love his story so much
I’m a sucker for historical romance and adore the twist of time travel. I must say that the author brings both together masterfully. Jade is a modern day woman from Michigan getting through Christmas in San Francisco and Thomas is an exile of Clan Kincaid in 1182! Toss in a bit of magic, mix well and you bring two worlds crashing together in a perfect combination. Jade’s struggle to come to grips with her new situation is complicated by unwanted attention from a man with less than knightly intentions.
Not only did I find Jade and Thomas’s story satisfying, but this story is a good first step into the world. I didn’t feel overwhelmed or confused and the little hints about the secondary characters made me want to find out more about them.
Besides, doesn't everyone want their own knight?
I’m left wanting more, and I’ll definitely be picking up the other books in this series.
Scotland 1170 and USA present day. Two people separated by centuries find their destiny through the magic of the ring. Tomas of Clan Kincaid has lived with distant relatives since his father disowned when he was given a ring by by him that he lost. Even then he had a vision of a girl named Jade who seemed to have a connection with him. In present day USA, Jade Calloway is always alone except for her friend Zoe who predicts she will go on a journey as Christmas approaches. Then a ring with a star appears and as she puts in own, she starts to have visions as before and she sees Robert who seems to be calling her to come to him. Can this really be happening? Can she finally be with the man of her dreams and find love? Sherry Ewing always grabs my heart in her stories and does not let go until the end. I am drawn in by her characters and surroundings as she writes her marvelous prose. Loved it!
It's because of this author, Sherry Ewing, that I enjoy medieval/time travel stories, she writes them SO well!! This one may be a novella but it really feels like a full story, it's jam-packed with reading goodness:)
Who would have known that a simple ring could bring true love through the centuries, even if the fated lovers were not from the same century! Jade, from presend day, and Thomas from Scotland, 1182, are brought together by that very ring which Thomas had lost when he was a young lad and got banished from his home because of it. Now, years later, Jade has found the ring and soon finds herself traveling in time and in Thomas' arms. I really enjoyed seeing some of the characters from the previous books as well:)
I thoroughly recommend the Quest Through Time series books, they are well written and have characters that will find a place in your heart.
Another interesting addition to the star-crossed lovers time-travelling saga of the knights of Berwick. Another stand-alone book but with an interesting new premise added into the mix of the time-travelling heroines and a Knight wishing for the perfect woman instead of the reverse. Also, the first time anyone has had knowledge, either backwards or forwards, of their descendants. Loved being back in 12th century, with the chivalrous knights (most of them). Well done Sherry.
Though I loved this story, I felt it had less drama in it. Saying that, I would still recommend it. With my favorite characters, the adventures continue on.
In my opinion Sherry Ewing is a master in her chosen genre of writing, One Last Kiss is beautiful! There is a lot packed into 14 chapters (plus the epilogue) all of which totally absorbed me into the story. Sir Thomas and Jade’s is a wonderful tale that spans from a modern era back to a time of Knights and Swords, Sir’s and Ladies, Trusty Steeds and winning a fair maidens hand! This book had it all in abundance. What I adore is the Romance is true, honest and fought for, the Male lead is rugged and heroic but thoughtful and a little wounded. The female lead is strong, independent and fights for her man but shows just enough vulnerability to make you shout “Hurrah!” when they profess their love for each other. I adore all Sherry Ewing’s books and this is another to add to my collection. I would highly recommend it to all my fellow readers.
I can never get enough of this fabulous time travel series. Some of my favorite book characters have come from it. This book is a wonderful as the others. Jade is adorable and Thomas is one handsome knight. Both have a vision and are surprised that dreams really do come true. The story was a page turner right up to the last page. Ms. Ewing really knows how to write stories that tug at your heartstrings and make you sigh. If this is your first in the series (and it can easily be read as a stand alone) I encourage you to go back to the beginning. It's one of my favorites!
I was gifted this book; this is my honest review -This is Thomas & Jade's story. -I loved how they met the first time. I loved how, when Jade was on the beach, the cycle repeated itself. I loved how, when she fell in time, Jade saw all the women/men that travelled before her. I really liked how Thomas' father finally understood it wasn't all his son's fault. -Although this is book #5, you do not need to read the other books to be in context. The author adds enough details that you are not lost. Au contraire, it will make you want to read the rest of the stories!
I love time travel and throw in a good romance I'm hooked. Thomas is in exile from his Clan Kincaid due to a bargain with the fae. Jade is a modern day lawyer who is going through the Christmas holidays by herself. Mix in a little magic . and It all comes together and Thomas has to wrestle with his bargain he has made and Jade has to figure out her new circumstances.
The story is a great read and can't wait to find out where Bridgette will fit in maybe in an upcoming story?.Always want more!!
Good short story of Sir Thomas and Lady Jade. It was nice to connect with the characters from Berwyck again. I would have liked it to be longer for more time to pass and details but it was a good story.
