Like many history books from Charles River editors, this one does a good job of covering the history of the Mamluks, their establishment in Egypt, their internal struggles and finally the battles against Napoleon. The book ends abruptly at the end, omitting the fate of the soldiers Napoleon left behind and the eventual decline and demise of the Mamluks themselves.
