Swear Words & Love Notes is the debut poetry collection of American poet P. T. Berkey. He writes from the soul, on matters of the heart, the human condition, and the beauty and sorrow's of life. It is an adventure for the mind, as Mr. Berkey takes us all over the world with his words, to come to places of understanding, peace, turmoil, heartbreak, and self discovery alike. Swear words & Love Notes moves the reader with its anecdotes on relationships, love, and compassion. In this collection of poetry you will find P. T. Berkey as raw as he has ever been.
P.T. Berkey's work makes me sigh (in the best, hug the book to your chest kind of way) like Charlotte Bronte's work does. The way Berkey's language weaves ideas together is so lovely. I tried so hard not to read it all in one day. On my worst, saddest days, I open up to a random page and let the words affect me just like they did the first day. Strongly recommended for people who are creative, stretch their imaginations to envision how they could get that "feeling alive" feeling all the time, and yearn for a life well-lived. I bought three copies for my best friends. The best part is, when you order through Paul, you get a poem and a picture with the book as well. @ptberkey on instagram is where the gold is at, too :)
I didn't connect with it as well as some others but it definitely has beauty to it. I'm coming to poetry later in life because it's what my partner buys for me. I enjoyed it.
