Gabrielle Dahms is a renaissance woman: artist, author, presenter, and entrepreneur. She holds a master’s in history and loves to research and write. Her latest books, Figure Drawing: Rhythm and Language of the Human Form and its accompanying Workbook impart technical and artistic considerations and knowledge when drawing the human figure. The books cull teachings from over four decades of drawing the figure. ─Her other non-fiction publications include the titles in The Real Estate Investor Manuals series, and hundreds of articles and blog posts about real estate. When away from the keyboard, she enjoys nature, travel, and other cultures. She also volunteers for local food banks and animal welfare causes.
There's a glut of how-to flipper books on the market, and Finding Profitable Deals is not for the slam-bam investor. Gabrielle Dahms first tells you how to identify opportunities as well has how to qualify them and then follow through - all the way to how you manage the investment. For example, did you consider that storage facilities are both in demand and lucrative? Yes, it's about profitability, certainly, but it's also about responsibility, citizenship, and community. You might not necessarily be a developer, but you should certainly care about how your community is developed. For example, what other book on the shelf will counsel you how to build relationships with your tenants? Would I want someone like Ms. Dahms to be my landlord or hold the paper on my mortgage? Emphatically yes!
Excellent, readable manual on a sometimes complex field. Includes many concise and helpful checklists on a wide variety of opportunities. Plus an appendix of useful resources, complete with website address. Well done - has me thinking of good opportunities to put some discretionary cash to work.
Refreshing and Realistic. The author of “Finding Profitable Deals” has produced a well and engagingly written book. It has easy-to-follow logic, convenient structure, a lot of common sense, and many expertly insights. What I like most about this book is that it offers a personalized approach to the investment strategy. It is as if the book says to its reader: “First and foremost, know and respect yourself as an individual. Then, follow your personal preferences, and be guided by them in making your real estate investing choices, rather than by the pure profit indicators.” What a refreshing approach! Once I realized what investment type matches my personality (philosophy, ideals, aspirations, stage in life, etc.), I have started using the book’s treasure chest of tools, information and additional resources for me to succeed. So, instead of dry instructions, I got clues to how to start thinking about real estate investments and feel comfortable with my choice; and then the book hands me a sensible and very realistic step-by-step guide. I highly recommend this book to someone who, like me, is new to the real estate investments area, but I also think the books gives a lot of great ideas and up-to-date factual data to experienced investors.
Finding Profitable Deals is just a glimpse of what is available to the real estate investor. This being the second book by Gabrielle Dahms, it makes an impressive start to seeking the best investments. Though very beneficial for those looking to just buy a family home. The author gives a surprising amount of information about what types of investments are out there. My first thought was a house or condo, but her experience in this field allows her to write about other forms of real estate that aren’t readily thought about.
First off, I love the confidence and energy that is conveyed through Gabrielle Dahms photo. To me a picture of the author sets the mood of the book, weird I know. Finding Profitable Deals (The Real Estate Investor Manuals Book 2) is exactly what I needed as I look into purchasing another family home. Her insight makes me feel I can make the best purchase without the fear of losing my investment if I need to resell. I am looking forward to using the tips I learned to good use, thanks.
This book is intended as a sequel to the authors first book on real estate investing and is focused on Finding the best real estate deals for you in a tough market. Broken down into 4 chapters, the author gives us a breakdown of the following: Markets and opportunities, Real estate niches, Marketing and finding leads. The information is presented in a easy to follow format and writing style. Some information in there was surprising for me, for example, how much Zillow is off on Zestimates and who their main customer is. I was sorely wrong on my views before I found out the truth. Much of this information is good to have, even if you are not a real estate investor. We are looking to buy a house within the next 3 years and much of this book was good to know information and will help us in how we will be going about buying our second home.
