Blue Heaven
According to the author real knowledge of heaven comes in the most unlikely situations, such as cooking cabbage or riding a camel, and humour is an integral part of coping with life. This is a collection of short stories drawn from personal experience. The rabbi is a well-known broadcaster.

Lionel Blue is so easy to read, and these short chapters give you something to think about in your daily life. I am not Jewish but I found them thought provoking and readable.

This book is packed full of religion but it has a more humanist side as the Rabbi Lionel Blue mixes religious anecdotes and episodes from his life with a dose of humour blended into the tales.
Insightful, witty and very honest as the author relates his lapses in faith and human failings and pettiness.
I am not at all religious but I found this witty and interesting even if you are a non believer this is thoroughly enjoyable and a great read just for the wealth of stories and recollections from the author's childhood.
Well worth a read whatever your background or association with faith.
