Today is the biggest day of my professional career. I’ve got one shot to prove I can play with the big boys and the Lachlan account is my ticket. I’ve never been more prepared for anything in my life. So of course that went up in flames.

In hindsight, stopping to get my chocolate milk fix right before the big meeting might not have been the best decision. Neither was fighti

This was such a cute, fun opposites attract read!

Let go from her job, Charley is trying to start her own assessment company. When her new client, the one who could really get her name out there, ends up being the same man who tried to steal her milk, she’s got concerns. He’s a complete adrenaline junkie, lives an outrageous life and she’s extremely attracted to him. But when her best friend finagles them into going on a trip together, she’s wondering who the risk taker is now?

Charley Claybourne is an insurance assessor. She's started up her own business and is about to meet her new client, the billionaire daredevil Chris Lachlan who she has sort of won under false pretences because he thinks she still works for one of the most prestigious firms of loss adjustors in the city. Desperate to calm her nerves she tries to buy some lactose-free chocolate milk only to get into a tug-of-war with a handsome guy over the last bottle. Of course there's a chocolate mil

This was the first book from this author that I have read and it was an ok read for me. This was book 4 in the series and it could be read as a standalone. They first meet fighting over chocolate milk. Christopher and Charley were an ok couple. They never really seemed like they should be together and that is what made them an ok couple to me. There was no real heat in this story and I do like my stories with a little heat. If you are looking for a sweet romance then this is the story for you.

Pushing his Luck is actually book four in this Billionaire Romance Series by Kira Archer. I felt like you could read this book having not read the others, I didn't, but there were some places where I was kind of confused. Like it's not described that well how Izzy and Chris know each other. I think it must be more in the other books. It's not a deal-breaker, but I did find myself scratching my head a couple times while I read
2.5 stars

I wasn't impressed, I couldn't believe they had deeper feelings for each other. They didn't share 'I love you's and it felt more like a HFN then HEA, the story lacked romance and heart. So sad, since I loved the first book in the series but all the other novels weren't better than mediocre.

This is a fun, sweet and short romance between Christopher Lachlan and Charley Claybourne. Right from the start of the story, where we have the meet cute over gluten free chocolate milk, I knew I was going to like these two characters.
Christopher Lachlan is the CEO of his own vacation home rental company. He has a meeting with Charley, the risk assessor, to get insured and remain CEO. (I have to admit, I was a little confused by this. Shouldn't he already have insurance?) Charley is tryi

Chris is not a shameful man when it comes to his body parts, “good.” He stood up, putting her eye level with his soaking wet boxer briefs that did absolutely nothing to hide anything...." I liked this book, I liked Chris.

Charley needs a job, well, more specifically, she wants to start her own company after the loss of her most recent position. Knowing how much is riding on one account, and that she's prepared to win it, she's ready to chug some chocolate milk beforehand. Of course, that's easier to do when someone isn't trying to steal, err take it, first. Chocolate cravings are real and cannot be denied, though she might've been tempted to let the good-looking man have it...but her lapse in thinking logically d ...more

You have to love a story when it starts with an argument over a carton of chocolate milk! Charley is thrown way out of her comfort zone when she has to do a risk analysis for Chris's company for insurance. The more time they spend together, feelings come into play. He is a risk taker where Charley is cautious because of an accident she was in. Will these two take a risk on love? I loved how the characters are presented in this story the charm and relationship between the characters sets the tone ...more

I had to give this 3 Stars because even though I kinda liked the story i had problems:

-Chris and Charley just never really hit me as a good couple
-The plot about his lifestyle being the pivot point for keeping his job rang false
-There seemed to be pushing "women power" almost to the point of it becoming political
- Very important point is I didn't really like the ending
- and finally of all the books in this series this was the least entertaining and really looked like she phoned it in when you co

Pushing His Luck by Kira Archer a four-star read that will leave you craving. I did really enjoy this story, the only thing was that for the first half of the story I kept feeling like I was missing something, like this was part of a series and I hadn’t read the previous stories. But in the second half I did feel like I was getting somewhere and knew what was happening. The cute and funny story is great and so flirty and sweet, I will be sure to pick up more from the author as I did enjoy the wr ...more

Pushing His Luck by Kira Archer is a sweet story about two people who seem to be totally different from each other. I really liked Charley and Chris.

Overall rating: 3/5

Heroine (Charley Claybourne): 3/5 She has just started a new company as a risk assessor for insurance companies and she is very good at her job. She is very much a home body and tends to play everything safe.

Hero (Chris Lachlan): 3/5 He is an adrenaline junkie and wants to taste all that life has to offer. To keep his job as CEO however he needs to convince the risk assessor that he is no

I recieved a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Chris's company is going public which means he needs to go through a risk assessment. Charley has just started her own firm after dealing with the misogyny at her firm but believing that Chris wouldn't approve of an independent small business she lies about still being with her firm. Billionaire businessman traveling the world of course that story is going to be corny. I did like Chris the adventurous billionaire thing was w ...more

This was a light, quick read. The writing flowed well, although the story wasn't my favorite. Charley is made out to be an accident prone risk assessor, but really the clumsiness stop right after she meets Chris. Charley has this tragic thing happen in her past to make her the way she is, but it's given like 1 paragraph towards the end to explain it, and she's not even the one telling the story. At least Chris's reasons for being a thrill seeker are told by him. The drama was over in a few pages ...more

This is book four in the Winning the Billionaire series, and Kira Archer is continuing her strong streak of fun flirty reads. Pushing His Luck offers readers layered and engaging characters, love scenes that move the story along, snappy dialogue and a little twist on the typical happily ever after romance. I hope the series continues, because I'm in.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

A Risk assessor and an adrenaline junky walk to a table...

Okay so it starts before that scene! Pushing His Luck is a cute romance with some lovely excursions and some to die for adventure. (See what I did there!?!?!)

Looks, lust, and chemistry are keeping these two tightly wound. Add in the proximity, the comfort of being in each others company, and the urge to do naughty things....and you get Pushing His Luck.

It's cute, sexy, and dare I say the perfect way to fall in love. Sign me up for this t

Pushing His Luck was obviously part of a series- not just part of but ended a series, and I did feel like I missed out on a ton of plot points by reading this without the others. I do think you could read as a standalone but you will miss a lot. Chris and Charley are a cute couple but I feel like I got hints of a backstory about why they are the way they are, but no actual resolution to anything. You do get a nice ending and prologue, so it is still satisfying.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

So, I liked this book but I also had a lot of issues with this book. So I love this series especially the first two books, but after those it kind of dropped off for me. First I'm going to start with the things I liked. Honestly, I love that it's in the same universe as the other books and I like how involved the characters in the previous books are. I also liked Charley and Chris together I think

Kira Archer is an auto read for me! I absolutely love her style and her special brand of crazy romance in a book! I loved this story to the nth degree! We meet the last man standing Chris and the total control freak risk assessor Charley. The story takes off full throttle and doesn't stop until the end.
Charley is Izzy's cousin and after Charley gets canned from her previous job and starts her own business, Izzy prompts Chris to meet with Charley. If Chris can't get insurance, he'll lose his busi

If you’re in the mood for a light, fun and sexy read Pushing His Luck will be a great choice!

Charley’s luck isn’t really the best. A traumatic event in her past left her in desperate need to keep control of everything at all times… and like a self-fulfilled prophecy, she ends up being a klutzy duck 90% of the time. With a career as a risk assessor, she lives for safety and prudence and she is very comfortable with that.

That was one of the most amazingly unexpected endings I've ever read.
This book was a-ma-zing. I honestly can't describe how much I love couples who are complete opposites but still find common ground.
Charley and Chris met because she was hired to asses risk for his company and what she saw clearly indicated that she so wouldn't recommend him and that was when Izzy, Charley's cousin and Chris' frie

This is my first exposure to Kira Archer's books and the Winning the Billionaire series.

I'm going to start this review by saying I think you can read Pushing His Luck as a standalone book in the Winning the Billionaire Series, but bits of the story and a majority of the supporting characters' lives won't really make a lot of sense without it. I'm saying that from experience. My recommendation would be to read the whole series before this one to avoid confusion.

This would be cute if you can get past all the improbabilities within the plot. Charley has a job as a risk assessor for insurance companies. It’s a perfect job for her because she avoids all risks ever since a car accident as a teenager. Chris is a billionaire who needs a positive recommendation to be insured. And to complete her assessment she agrees to travel with him to Costa Rica and Spain to judge the risks he takes since he’s the complete opposite of Charley and embraces all sorts of risk ...more

Charley learns to relax a bit!

Charley Claybourne just wanted some chocolate milk to get something into her stomach before an important business meeting when an attractive stranger also grabbed the jug at the same time causing a mess when it dropped to the floor. Charley made her meeting and she was surprised the client she was supposed to assess about insuring was the same guy that tried to grab her chocolate milk. Christopher Lachlan needed insurance to stay as head of the company on vacation h
