Who's ready for a psychological suspense thriller. This one is full of twists you don't see coming and lots of action. I was not surprised how fast I read it, there was not a second to catch your breath. It is a super fast read and one you won't want to put done un you turn the very last page.
I gave this book 4 stars.

Elena Mikalsen is a wonderful author whose words had the power to evoke strong feelings in me. Each of them were felt keenly in my core, the one that demanded to be respected as a human.

Emma had been raped and beaten and left for dead in college. Years later, she had a loving family and a great job as the marketing head of a pharmaceutical company. But suddenly, her company was being merged with another whose head was her rapist. And all the old feelings of helplessness, anger, and revenge came

All the Silent Voices is a taut, fast-paced suspense novel that will keep you turning pages way past your bedtime! Emma Shephard was raped when she was a college student, but is now happily married and devoted mother of a teenage daughter. She’s left her assault in the past—until her rapist buys the company where she and her husband work. From its start, ALL THE SILENT VOICES plunges into the deep end of the pool without ever letting up in a race to the finish. It’s rich in character, plot and angst, and is highly relatable given today’s empowered society. It will tug at your heartstrings on many levels.” Elaine Gallant, author of The 5th C: A CIA Novel

Wow. What a read...
Can you imagine the worst night of your life, being raped by the star football player at a frat party your roommate dragged you to? Your roommate introducing you to him saying you will love him. And only having one drink, but ended up being drugged and later losing your scholarship and being kicked out of school. This all happened to Emma, 21 years ago she was blamed for her sexual assault and had to leave the school because no one believed her and everyone blamed her. She has

Holy wow! This book was gripping. Mikalsen instantly pulled me to the heart of the story and kept me hooked until the end. She chiseled her characters and her plot perfectly. I stayed up long into the night reading this one, turning page after page. I just couldn't put it down. I fell in love with the plot line, and the characters and am keeping this one on the bookshelf to stay!

Emma's story is not for the faint of heart. It's not a light read, learning of Emma's rape and who her new boss will

The Silent Voices by Elena Mikalsen is an incredible read. This is a fast paced domestic suspense that will keep you up at night turning the pages until the dramatic ending.

Trigger alert for rape and sexual assault.

Emma Shepard was sexually assaulted back in college and she did everything right including reporting the assault and yet SHE was the one thrown out of school . She moved on and went on to live a seemingly "normal" life. Though there really is not a normal life for someone that has

All the Silent Voices is a suspenseful , well-written, #metoo tale that will pull you in right away.

It's hard to imagine living the horrific situation of coming face to face with a rapist from your past (and then having to work with them), but Mikalsen puts us in those shoes with her main character Emma, and as a reader you live all the fear, anger, and questions of what makes for appropriate retribution (and does revenge pay?) right along with her.

I particularly appreciated how the story

This was the first book that I have read from this author and it won't be the last.

It's a little different than other thrillers as we know what the crime is and who is the victim. W hat we don't know are details that change opinions on the characters. I went in thinking I knew the basics of the plot and how it was going to end and was prepared to really be disappointed. However the author does a great job spinning things around and changing it up!

This will not be the last book that I read by

Divergent Style Shows Strength As Storyteller. The singular best thing I can say about this book is that with its dramatic departure from the style and tone of the author's previous book The House With The Cypress Trees it truly shows just how great of a storyteller she is. This particular book is a drama with few laughs and a fair amount of heartbreak going back over two decades, with its overall story solidly rooted in the travails of the MeToo movement and anti-Big Pharma activism. For many, ...more

Elena Mikalsen has written an action packed thriller with “All The Silent Voices”.

Emma was placed in many difficult situations, which led to complicated decisions that she had to make all through the novel. Aidan her husband and Sophie her daughter played an instrumental role in these decisions. Richard was that thorn in her side that never seemed to go away after he hurt her traumatically so many years ago.

It was hard to put this gripping action-packed book down once I started it.

This book pulls you in right away as Emma comes face-to-face with her rapist-gone-free from 21 years ago. You can feel her visceral response and her conflict with her fight or flight options. As can be guessed, she decides to fight and the authentic way she does so offers hope for those who deeply feel and have experienced their #MeToo moments.

When I started this book I was not sure I was going to be able to handle it. It starts out quite violently. A young college girl getting beaten and raped in a stairwell outside a frat party. It was horrific. But it was the beginning of a book that will give you a lot to think about.

This book sure touches on quite a few subjects. College football players getting away and even encouraged to rape young freshman girls. The girls being told it’s their fault and subsequently being forced out of the
All The Silent Voices by Elena Mikalsen is a well written suspense novel. Emma suffered a brutal rape back when she was in college, and never really shared the details with her husband and others. Now her rapist is her new boss and her husband wants to be friends with him! Emma is filled with anger

The angrier that Emma gets, the more she starts to find ways to pay her boss, Richard back for all the wrong he has done. Now she is figuring out that he is involved in bad deals about pharmaceutical

I’ll start off by saying that I am a huge @writer.mikalsen fan. This is the 2nd of her books that I have had the pleasure to read. What fascinates me the most is how entirely different this book was from the one I had read previously - like completely opposite sides of the spectrum. In my opinion, that’s a true testament to someone’s ability as a writer.

All the Silent Voices was an extremely hard read for me. I mean, it’s about sexual assault. I cannot even imagine how difficult it

When Emma was in college, she was raped, beaten, and practically left for dead. When Emma went to the University to report the assault, no one believed that the all-star football athlete could be capable of such a heinous crime. Rather, everyone blamed Emma including the University. Emma lost her scholarship and was forced to leave.

Fast forward 21 years, and Emma has put the assault behind her. She’s happily married and the mother of a teenage daughter who is about to start college. Emma has

This is author Elena Mikalsen’s third book, and with each her prose has tightened. Here, she draws upon her experience as a psychologist. Her protagonist, college student Emma, has been raped, beaten, and left for dead by a football player. She is forced from school and spends years trying to block out the attack. Eventually she moves on, finds a loving husband, and has a high-school-aged daughter. Emma works in marketing for a pharmaceutical company. When her company is bought out by another, ...more

Emma Shephard was sexually assaulted while a student in college over twenty years ago. She had to leave college in order to heal, and eventually, she built her life up despite what happened to her. She’s not a mom, wife, and a successful marketer.

Everything falls apart when the man who assaulted buys the company where she works.

Emma must decide between justice and what’s right versus the safety and security of her new life.

I enjoyed the tension and pace of the story right from the start. I feel

This fast paced thriller is quite a timely story in light of the Me Too Movement. There is much to think about here. Not only rape and assault on women but about the power of drug companies. It is BIG business and tremendous money makers. When there is that much money involved there is bound to be corruption. And this kind of corruption can be life threatening.

What if your rapist of many years ago suddenly appeared as your new boss in your workplace?

Husband and wife, Emma and Aidan Shephard are

All the Silent Voices is an ode to every woman who has been silenced through trauma. To every woman who has been told it was her fault. To every woman who felt that she couldn’t speak up. To every woman afraid. In a time of the Me-Too movement, this book is poignant and important. It will not be a story for everyone, it may trigger some terrifying memories and it is important to note that this book is vivid. But, it is important. It

Just finished All the Silent Voices! This fast-paced roller coaster of a thriller kept me up all night. Emma was raped when she was in college and was forced to leave because she was not believed. The years pass. She gets married and has a daughter who will be going to college. She has a successful job at a pharmaceutical company. The company is bought by the man who raped her. So many tense moments made this reader stay up all night to finish it. Good read! Thanks to NetGalley and Wild Rose ...more

This was a #metoo fiction story but boy did it start off with a bang! I am not easily bothered by many things but TRIGGER WARNING: this contains graphic sexual assault details. The beginning was the roughest part and the rest of the book is tamer. Still, plenty of movie-style action, though! It was an intriguing read. There were other plots and twists that surprised me towards the end and the ending was a satisfying one.
