But before Asya’s training is completed, t ...more

I'm a wreck
I'm not okay
I will say the epilogue made exactly zero sense to me, and the beginning was a bit slow, but! I'm sure the epilogue will clear up when I read the next book, and I got through the beginning fine, so yeah I'm just !!! ahhhhh !!!

The story follows two sisters, Asya and Izaveta, separated by fate. Izaveta has been raised to navigate the intrigues of court, while Asya is to be the next firebird, roaming the world to ensure the price of magic is paid. When circumstances bring the sisters back together, they must decide if they can trust each other as they once did.

These Feathered Flames is a good political fantasy story that follows twin sisters Asya and Izaveta. Destined at birth for one to become the next queen and the other to become the Firebird, a powerful being who maintains magical balance by tracking down those who have not paid a price for their use of magic, the two reunited after their mother's death and are thrown into a world of political and ...more
This highly anticipated YA Fantasy Fiction is a spooky fairy tale: part Anna Karenina meets The Hazel Wood meets the Parent Trap meets Frozen.
Though there are twin sister protagonists, it is Asya/Firebird who wins readers hearts with her endless dedication to her sister and other loved ones. (Or maybe she just won my heart because my niece's name is Asiyah.)
Otherwise the twisted smiles and cold stares from the p ...more
I am a huge fan of female protagonists especially sisters that ban together to achieve a common cause and bring themselves closer together than never before. Izaveta and Asya discover their skills and powers and Izaveta after finding out the queen has been taken away by a firebird and its now Izaveta in line for the crown. Asya was ...more
The book goes deep into the characters' heads, and I love that the characters are given a full context, and are allowed to make mistakes - they always feel like real, living people.
And I loooved the sunshine/hard-ass romance.
I can't wait to find out what happens next! ...more
