I’m unapologetically in love with Nick Kovac.
He can claim to hate me and blame me for everything.
I’ll fight for us both.
He severs the promise he made, leaving me on the hockey rink floor, heartbroken and alone.
It doesn’t take me long to stand with my head held high, while he's being a coward. Stuck between push and pull, everything we are is in question.

"I've been under a different sky with you. That's what you called it. I've felt the magic under the starry skies, but I want something new with you. What I want is for us to wait for the sun to come up."
Honestly, there really ARE no words to truly express just how much I loved this book. Waiting for the Sun is the most real, raw and emotional book I have EVER read. You will break as you read this book as you did with Under a Different Sky. I won't lie and say that you won't, but you'll heal too. ...more

Oh the Drama! I didn’t like the way part 2 of this story went. Not. One. Bit. Hannah never had a chance from the moment this story started. She’s the perpetual runner up this whole time. Saint Hannah was always the second best, the helper, the lifter upper and the perpetual savior to Nick. And Nick? The always dick who everyone fawned over especially, devoted Hannah, who will never be his love of his life Mia, was a constant miserable prick and whiny coward. But the real kicker is that it was fa

Waiting for the Sun by Lindsey Iler is the second book in the Hand Over My Heart Duet. This book picks up right where the first book Under a Different Sky leaves off. We find Nick and Hannah dealing with the realities the truth brings into their lives. There are a ton of ups and downs and all the feels!

I have nor words to describe this book that will do it any justice. Nick and Hannah are one of my favorite couples ever, so reading this book was bittersweet. I wanted them to have a happy ending but reading the end of their story made so very sad.
I knew going into Waiting for the Sun Iler was going to cause me emotional distress. I even took Benadryl before I started reading to make sure my eyes didn't get so swollen. And I was absolutely right! I found myself crying and crying, even at parts I ...more

I had a tough time rating this book. I love how authentic and real Lindsey writes her teen characters. She brings me back to the time when we're all that age and how emotional and hormonal we were as teens. Such a confusing time trying to figure out who we were and then add a serious relationship in the mix it's a cluster fk of feelings!!

First of all, Waiting for the Sun is the conclusion in the Hand Over My Heart Duet, so there's no way around it, YOU MUST READ Under a Different Sky (Book 1) FIRST! Now, I'm all for angst and/or big push & pull, but this is just me, those two things were TOO EXTRA, and I was literally ready to pull my hair out, plus had to put the book down more than once. I know some of the topics that Nick & Hannah were dealing with were no joke, but still, I didn't care if they found other people to see by ha

When reading a book and you come to a cliffhanger, the feeling can be devastating. But we knew that we just needed to give Lindsey time to get all her thoughts written down. To allow Hannah and Nick to speak to her. When you receive the 2nd half of such an intense story, you know that it will be a wild ride but you are always waiting for everything to be wrapped up nice and neat. There is nothing nice and neat about this story. These are two hormone driven, angry, and still grieving teenagers. I

I'm literally blown away!!!! Iler created a masterpiece with Nick and Hannah's story! It's gut wrenching, its filled with angst and turmoil. Waiting for the Sun just blinds you with all the feels.
Immediately, you are sucked back into the angst, that is, Nick and Hannah. I could feel my blood, pounding in my veins, the moment I started reading.

Endearing is the first word that popped in my mind when I thought back to the journey this book took me on. It was sad, excruciatingly so at times and quite often I felt like this couple couldn't possibly handle any more and that no one could ever be dealt so much in such a short time. The story felt a bit drawn out, but that made it so much more real, cause nothing in life is a quick fix, most things take a lifetime. This book was an eye opener and made me think about how lucky we are to have w

Oh Nick Kovac. I've waited forever for you to come back to me. I couldn't wait for the conclusion of your and Hannah's story. And my, oh my I was not disappointed.
Every word touched my soul. I felt the story deep within me. Their love, their conflict...and I so badly wanted to fix it all for them. Watching this story unfold I held my breath as tears poured down my face. And I cheered loudly when then book concluded and we were given the only proper ending fit for our Nick and Hannah.

This book was super disappointing. The writing was not near as good as the first one. There were no feelings for me. It was super choppy-the timeline was tough to follow. It was also INCREDIBLY redundant and repetitive with the constant back and forth. It was unbelievably annoying. There wasn’t near enough character growth-the author definitely should have skipped ahead a few years and had this book take place then. Nick Kovac dated Mia James in high school until she passed away. As Nick struggled with moving on he finally found some solace with her best friend, Hannah Barnes, until he read a letter and everything once again fell apart. Now the hockey star is once again struggling and trying to deal with added pressures.

I loved the first book, Under a Different Sky, but I'm not sure about my feelings with this one. Probably closer to a 2.5 rating.
There's a lot of back and forth, a lot of push and pull. One step forward, two steps back, right till the very end. What to make of Nick? I constantly had to remind myself that we're talking a 17yo, a grieving one at that, and not a rational adult (though at the same time, kudos to Lindsey for writing an authentic teenager; it's just that I can't w ...more

After reading the first book in the series, I was a bit confused on how the ended left off. I knew that something big was revealed, but it was not explained in a dumbed down way. Waiting for the Sun definitely took care of the questions that I had and it makes PERFECT sense now.

Wow!!! My heart.... I'm going to need a few days of Christmas movies and not much reading to recover from this book. Hannah and Nick are not simple. They never have been and never will be. But it's what makes them unique and their own story. I couldn't wait for the conclusion to their story and man I couldn't get enough. And like I said, definitely going to have to recover from this one. Ms. Iler sure knows how to put your heart through the wringer. But she's been doing it from the beginning and

Waiting for the Sun by Lindsey Iler is the second book in the Hand over My Heart Duet. This story is heart-wrenching and bittersweet. It's filled with raw emotions and turmoil.
After Nick discovered the secret Hannah has kept from him, everything fell apart between them. They're both hurting and struggling with their realities. The constant push and pull between them were unbearable. Nothing in their relationship was easy. They both have to fight their demons before they can be together.

4 beautiful stars!!!
Loved this story, it was so deep and emotional that I felt it touch my soul. I admire the h and she is probably one of the strongest h I have ever read about. She didn’t weep every time Nick broke a piece of her heart. She stood up to herself, and I love her for that.

Love isn't a strong enough word
A pearl clutching continuation of under a different sky. If you haven't read book one in this duet, back it on up!!
It takes a lot of heart and talent to capture the guilt and the anger and the helplessness of falling in love with the man your dead best friend called the love of her life. Watching Nick and Hannah fall apart and come together in waves of denial and acceptance is beautiful. It's all so much more than a love story. We experience all the stages of grie ...more

Waiting for the Sun
The second part of Hannah and Nick's story is really hard to read. It's painful and it's SO frustrating. I got to angry at the two of them, but I could also understand their feelings and where they were coming from. As I type this with tears running down my cheeks, I'm completely at peace with how their story ended. As always, I would love more, but I'm ok. Bittersweet to the very end (SPOILERS)
This was a good wrap up of Hannah and Nicks love story. If I was going to critique anything is that it wasn’t always clear why they were having issues connecting, the writing wasn’t clear enough for me. There also seemed to be a few loose ends but I’m guessing the author is setting it up for other character standalones. I felt this duet with my whole being and highly recommend. I bawled like a baby at one point so be forewarned.

Book 1 was better
This book was good, just not awesome. The constant back and forth, push pull and Kellan being not nice and Nick being a jerk was a little too much for me. The bad part is the storyline had a little too much repetitiveness for me. The story progresses but it’s the same over and over for a bit. Still everything wraps up in the end. This poor girl deserves so much better, never be someone’s second best.

Wow where do I start after that... Hannah and Nick and everyone else in the story because the authors amazing writing made you feel each and everyone and everything they were all going through... utterly amazing writing and storyline... I’m speechless but in the best way possible ♥️

Love Conquers All
This was torture!! I was gutted and frustrated and tortured with all the emotions this story brings. I felt the loss, the grief and the love Nick and Hannah felt, but also how the side characters felt. This felt so real. It was beautifully written. When in the end all that matters is love you always find a way. A great read a definite must read!
