This book was brilliant. Well researched and clearly drafted.

I could tell the author really cares about Taiwan and so I appreciated that as a reader, but it was just so unabashedly biased that it was hard to take too seriously. I'm glad I read it, but his passionate tone made me feel like I need to read other books to ensure I'm getting a fair picture of Taiwanese history.

I know Jerome. He's an interesting person who cares about Taiwan. He has a neat, concise reading style that makes his books accessible to Taiwanese readers.
