Ehhh, this was mehhhh.
My first Keaton story and well, I wasn't very impressed.
Awkward flow and a strange chain of events left me puzzled.
Way-bam-thank-you-sir sex didn't convince me of their connection.
A kite store owner and a sex toy owner in a small town felt...ambitious? Not to mention their initial meeting had my eyes rolling out of my head.
And I expected more kink from Otto.
And the ex-husband drama and estranged sister drama was...too much to swallow.
I gave it my best shot but the

Utterly sweet romance with enough spice to keep things ticking along and make me fall completely for both Otto and Greg.

I loved the meet-cute element of this, I loved the town it was set in, I loved that both men had hang-ups but were willing to work through them and I thought the stalker element wasn't overdone and fit nicely into the plot.

I had an ARC, so there were a fair few errors in it which I expect will have been cleaned up on release and the narrative flowed really nicely

So, I was kind of confused at first Otto meets Greg on a rainy night after a deer forces Otto off the road in the pouring rain and Greg happens by and makes sure hes okay. Now, first, Otto says the next thing he knows, the car is still running so thats good and the bonk on his head mustve meant he passed out, if only for even a minute or two but then hes like Im fine, I didnt pass out.

After going on, on his way, everything that can go wrong, does go wrong and hes finally able to get to his bed
Not particularly interesting and just okay in all aspects.

I wanted so badly to love this story, but I couldn't get there. I really liked it, though. There were plenty of lovable parts, such as:

-Both characters, Greg and Otto were funny and kind
-Kittens, kites and a cute kid
-A very sweet first meeting
-Lots of fun jokes, lovely words and romance

To me, there was too much going on beside the long distance relationship with Greg and Otto. The thing with the ex brought a bit of thrill and drama, but the scene at the end seemed thrown in and unnecessary. I

Builds anticipation for a new series

Edit: Im apparently really bad at adjectives late at night. Someday Ill learn to wait for morning to review.

This was really nice sweet, fun introduction to a new town and new men finding love. Otto is just a nice mild mannered, somewhat insecure guy although I cant really remember him much from the Storm Season series. Hes also got an ex who doesnt want to let go. Greg is a really nice guy too but with a sad history, rejected by his family for being gay. The
I thought that this was a really cute insta-love story. I think Otto is the cutest thing ever and so funny. I really recommend this book. Cannot wait for more in the series. Very hot sexy times and no angst.

So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. ~ Christopher Reeve

Benji and Diego have been friends and bandmates for ten years. Powerful chemistry between them has always been there, but now they are in a position to make it what they have both dreamed ofmore. One of their biggest concerns is the fear of losing what they presently have. They are afraid of rocking the boat and ending up with nothing.

This was cute overall. I didnt refresh myself with the blurb before reading, so the beginning made me wonder if there was some kind of paranormal theme going on. There wasnt, it just read like something was coming. Otto and Greg met and got along really well, and I liked their relationship development. I did thing the situation with the ex was a bit weird with Otto not reporting or saying anything initially, but I guess sometimes things just happen that way. The resolution to the ex situation ...more

This was a nice story about two nice guys who were both a bit lost but found their way to each other on a rainy night. I enjoyed watching this relationship grow, both Otto and Greg were sincere and mature and had been unlucky in love and life in different ways. I loved that Greg owns a kite shop, Id love to visit one and fly a kite on a beautiful day.

I thought the story went off track a bit with Ottos ex. There was also a dramatic episode towards the end with someone in Gregs life that seemed

As for Otto and Greg as a couple, I really enjoyed watching them dance around one another. They had instant attraction. Their chemistry was really off the charts. Because of their own issues they were slow to come together but the prolonged build is really what made Trusting The Elements a page turner.

Overall I enjoyed Trusting The Elements. It took me a little while to feel the connection and feelings between the MC's but the attraction they felt was definitely there.
There is a bit of drama involving Otto's ex boyfriend/stalker and Greg's family disowned him years previously. They show how they can work together even with it being only weekend visits initially as Otto is looking at a space for his business. Neither expected more from the other than one hot weekend together but they

A cute story about a m/m romance between a kite store owner (Greg) and a sex shop owner (Otto). Angst is provided by Otto's stalker of an ex-husband and Greg's family's homophobia. Overall, this novel is of average quality for the m/m genre.

A major problem that I had with this story, one I've seen in other romance novels, is that the author clearly does not know how the male orgasm works, even if we allow for euphemism and artistic wording. Testicles do not get "full" of semen or even contain

4.5 rounded to 5.

This book hit all my mushy feels in a good way.

Otto and Greg share an instant connection that morphs into something that neither of them expected for themselves. Both are sweet, kind men who cant believe how lucky they are to find the other and therefore have trouble trusting their good fortune. Whats not to love about that?

What angst exists is supplied by two subplots: Ottos got a stalker-ex whose creepy behavior escalates throughout the book, while Greg finds himself forced

Great start to a new series

Otto was in a horrific accident and it opened his eyes to the way he was living his life, or rather how he hasn't been living, simply existing.
Greg sees Otto in distress and immediately offers his assistance because that's the kind of guy he is, always willing to lend a helping hand.
An immediate spark between them leads to a
combustible weekend spent together.
Reality soon intrudes and their living distance soon poses a problem.
Not to mention the fact that there's an
Otto has an ex who continues to harass him, but he largely ignores him. Hes also looking to add a store to his current one in a new town.

Greg owns a kite shop, lives on his own, and has a hateful family. As their romance gets off the ground, interference from the ex escalating his contact, Gregs sister, and the business deal, make things messy. But they deal with it all together, with lots of supportive friends.

Nothing spectacular in this book, though I like the kite flying angle.

Two men - their families, neighbors, friends, two kittens, and, of course hand-made kites.

What more could anyone ask?

Ehh. I wasnt a huge fan of this book. It wasnt horrible or great. It was just ok. It took me a while to get through it. I wont be reading the rest of the series. ...more
This story just didn't engage me. The characters lacked chemistry, imo. They had sex right off, so there was no sexual tension at all.

The narrator is stiff and over enunciates the story (non-dialogue). It was like listening to a robotic voice. The dialogue parts were better, but it still made it really difficult for me to enjoy the story.

We first met Otto in Elle Keatons Accidental Roots series, and I was HOPING hed get his own book! He owns a naughty little store called Ottos Erotica in Skagit Washington. He comes across as a self sufficient man, a successful business owner, and as we learn in this book, one with a past. Otto has a stalker he also has a dream to open another store in Westfort, a town not too far from Skagit, but a much smaller town. Otto heads to Westfort in a storm, where he is rescued

A great start to a new series.

Edited 9/30/19 to add my comments about the audiobook.

I read and reviewed Trusting the Elements when it was first released as an ebook. I'm happy to report that I really enjoyed the story again listening to it in audio format.

This was the first audiobook I've listened to narrated by Steve Balderson and he was pretty good. His voice was easy to listen to after I got used to it. I did find that the narration was somewhat slow. I listened to this one at 1.25 speed and

Great start to a new series.

A great start to a new series. Sweet and sexy. Otto and Greg are instantly attracted to one another and things heat up very quickly. But Otto has a stalker, an ex that won't take no for an answer. I really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to book 2.

For almost half of this book I felt like something was missing, thinking to myself:"what, has Elle Keaton actually written a book without any  suspense in it?" Because after reading the Accidental Roots series, I was convinced that she's not capable of writing romance without some kind of danger to her characters' lives.

And I was right. Only a few pages later,Otto's stalking ex becomes more pushy, amping up his menacing messages. If you ask me,the ex situation ads that  necessary, intriguing

With a lot of sweetness, sexy times, and a little angst and drama, this story kept my interest till the end. From the start where Otto has a car accident and he meets Greg, who is all kinds of caring and helpful, I was invested in their relationship. There is an instant connection between the MCs and they fit together perfectly, as they soon discover... Although they both feel the intense connection, it takes a bit of time for them to finally admit out-loud that what they have is more than a ...more

Thrill, lust & love! What an adventure!

Sometimes what you need and aren't looking for finds you anyway and it's even better than you imagined! This is how I felt about Otto & Greg's story. They find each other at the perfect time and while there's a lot of steam, a good amount of angst and a far bit left unsaid they have a connection that draws you in and keeps you wrapped up in their lives for the whole ride!

This was a nice read about two main characters who are both lost in their own and sort of searching for something more substantial in their lives. I dont think they were necessarily looking for someone but along the way of trying to find whatever it is they were looking for, they found each other. This did come off as an insta love story but not so unbelievable that I didnt buy it.

Yet, I do think that the drama with Ottos ex took me away from the story of Otto and Greg and more so focused on
