Dr. Alex Ryan is at the tail end of a long shift one night when a young woman is brought into the E.R. by ambulance. Brutally beaten and left for dead, the unconscious patient has no identification and is quickly tagged Jane Doe. When she awakens, the mystery surrounding her deepens. She has no memory of the vicious attack that nearly took her life. She has no memory of her past. No name, no family, no clue as to who she is or where she’s from. While local police are skeptical of her sudden amnesia, Alex finds himself intrigued by the woman. That intrigue quickly turns into something more. But she’s a stranger—even to herself. And once they join forces in the quest to find out who she is, they unravel far more than they bargain for. Evil closes in. A killer lies in wait, determined to finish what he started.
Jennifer Hayden was born in Washington State. During her childhood and young adult years, she spent many hours lost in the adventures of a good book. She began writing her own stories at the age of 12 when she "ran out of books to read at the library." By the time she graduated from high school, she already had a job as a secretary/office manager, where she eventually met her husband, Mike. For the next several years, she wrote in her spare time, sharing her manuscripts with friends and family. At the urging of two good friends, she decided to go for broke and leave her secretarial career behind in pursuit of this magical literary journey. She now has 54 books available.
I stumbled across this series and author by accident. Boy, am I ever glad I did! This is a series based around first responders. This was Alex’s story. He has appeared in the previous books and this plot centers around a victim with no memories of who she is. He makes a connection with her and ends up helping her find out who she is and what happened her. Without ruining the plot I will say she was a runaway and the story in the end is worse than it was first thought. If you like mystery and romance this series is for you.
ER Dr Alex is having a hard time forgetting one of his patients. She was beaten and left for dead and when she wakes up, she can’t remember who she is. Can she remember her past before it comes back to finish her off? This series just keeps getting better. I’m in love with all the characters! Awesome read! Enjoy!!!
Another good one by Jennifer Hayden. Have enjoyed the series so far. Nice to read about each person she writes about as the series continues. Nice mystery, and romance to go with it.
