After seventeen years away, Tyler has returned to his hometown of Northridge, complicating Kristens life and dredging up conflicting emotions shed rather not confront: the shame of that night so many years ago, coupled with the confounding and unwelcome physical attraction she has for him; the desire to keep her secret and the guilt over doing just that.

For his part, Tyler

A Season of Love, Seasons of Northridge Book 2, is by award winning author Rebecca Heflin. Set in Northridge, Georgia, outside of Atlanta, this is the story of Beans n Books coffee shop and bookstore owner Kristen McKay. Kristens life has been anything but easy. She grew up in poverty and everything she now has is of her own doing. She is a business owner, a part-time college student, and single mother to a 16 year old violin protege.

Tyler Kincaide was a hometown fellow who had left for

This is the first book Ive read by Rebecca Heflin and Im so glad I did. Ive even purchased A Season to Dance, Olivia and Zachs story, because I loved their characters so much. This is a small town story, one of my favorite genres. This story centers on Kristin and Tyler. Tyler left Northridge, Georgia after graduating high school. Now, Tylers back and Kristin and him are both business owners. When theyre the only two in favor of getting approved for movies to be made in town, theyre tasked with ...more

This is a story about not letting bitterness and resentment define you. Both Tyler and Kristen have been through a lot. Kristen has struggled all her life through poverty, teenage pregnancy, and more. She is putting herself through school while starting a small business and supporting her son - all on her own. She literally has no support from her community and no family left. Tyler has survived cancer, again without a lot of support - because he lived far away from his family and his fiance ...more

Kristen McKay is the single mother of 16-year-old violin prodigy, Seth. She had a rocky past, but between hard work and determination, she's now the owner of a bookstore/cafe. Although she's built a happy and stable life, she still struggles financially and is extremely unhappy when former classmate, Tyler Kincaide, returns to their small town 17 years later. Kristen has an issue with Tyler, and he has no idea why. Fate throws the two of them together to work on a project that could bring their ...more

Okay, this is another one of those books where I loved the H but had some really big problems liking the h. A poor alcohol-induced decision on the part of Tyler just before he left town to go to college compounded by a lot of miscommunication which turned to anger and resentment on the part of Kristen over the results of that night and which she let simmer and brew for seventeen years. It is at this point that Tyler returns to town to establish a business and ends up having to work with Kristen ...more

3.5 stars. Oh how I have mixed feelings about this one.

Kristen and Tyler grew up together. Friends from the other side of the side of the tracks. Both harboring a crush for each other. But nothing can come of it cause Tyler is leaving for college and Kristen, a girl raised in a trailer park cant afford that lifestyle.

17 years later Kirsten, still living in her home town owns a bookstore coffee shop and holds deep anger and resentment for a newly returned Tyler. When the two are forced to work

Tyler moves back home from New York when priorities are shifted in his life. He remembers Kristen from high school, and can't figure out why she doesn't like him, but sets out to change that. As their relationship develops, he has a secret he's keeping from her. Kristen has been mad at Tyler forever. It's practically unbearable when he moves back to Northridge. They're paired up to work on a project for the economic council, and she realizes he's not such a bad guy after all. But she's keeping a ...more

What an excellent story that I just couldnt put down! A Season To Love is a second in the series, Seasons of Northridge and I highly recommend you read the first one as well when both Kristen and Tylers characters are introduced. As a reader, I can see the train wreck coming as complicated situations build, sharp tongues are wagging and sparks are flying. The characters represent real world people that are not perfect, (who wants to read a book with perfect characters?) they dont always make the ...more

This is the first book that I have read by Rebecca Heflin and Ive got to say that I really enjoyed the book.

For me, the characters had depth; they were realistic and likeable and this had you instinctively rooting for them!

Kristen, the female protagonist had it hard growing up: her father was sent to prison and her mum was a waste of space. Kristen crushed on Tyler big time - he came from a stable family unit and he was kind to her. Something happened before he left for college, something that

This is an excellent book. The characters are well developed and realistic. Kristen had a hard time growing up and with a father in prison and mother who was irresponsible, she had to work hard and ignore the "trailer trash" comments in school.. As a senior she was in love with Tyler but once he went off to college, she did not hear from him until he returns to their home town 16 years later. Kristen has a son, Seth, who is a talented violin player. Their relationship is genuine and she provides ...more

I wondered how she was going to match the first book, but I think Rebecca Heflin actually topped it! Kristen is a book and coffee shop owner in Northridge, Georgia who really wants them to film a movie in their small town. Local brewer, Tyler, agrees with her. When the town counsel asks them to do a presentation on why a movie would be good for the town, they realize that working together is going to require some adjustment. Tyler has a crush on Kristen, but for some unknown reason she hates ...more

Thank you to Goodreads and the publisher for a giveaway kindle copy of this book! This is my first time reading this author and had it not been for this giveaway I might have not stumbled upon her. When I started reading A Season to Love I had no idea it was book two of a series. After finishing this book I am excited to check out book one, A Season to Dance. The premise for this book, someone from the past coming back and shaking things up, is one that I have read multiple times before and didn ...more

Kristen and Tyler had one night together seventeen years ago and the result is Seth. But Tyler is not aware of this because he doesn't remember that night. Now they are both successful business owners and are forced to work on a project together. Kristens denied feelings come back and she hat to figure it out how to let him know about his son...

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I wasn't taken by this romance. Tyler works with the heroine and are both assigned to a work project for the town. The heroine despises the hero because he slept with her when she was younger and never called her back. I found it totally unromantic that he never remembered sleeping with her and then has the balls to be mad at her for not telling him about the consequences of that night. I just couldn't get into how out

I received this book as an Arc for my own opinions.
I'm not one to read a book about secret babies but I had a hard time not reading this book.
I was drawn in by the cover and excerpt that I read.
I love the depth of the characters. They both grew up a lot in this book and i feel like they found their way in a realistic every day situation instead of unbelievable like some books are.
I wa every surprised by this book and really enjoyed reading it.

This book was fantastic. Kristen has grown up being teased and challenged her whole life. While struggling with her self confidence she is also the owner of a coffee shop/book store. When the guy that he always loved came back into town, she was so mad at him and for a good reason. Tyler on the other hand has no clue why she is so mad at him. While battling cancer Tyler realized that life was too short and even though he won the battle of cancer h didnt get away Scott free.

Not really my cup of tea, not keen when the story is based on misunderstandings that are stretched over the whole story and Im not a fan of keeping secrets or children being used, I know it happens and its life, but not what I was expecting in what I thought was a nice romantic read. Im sure others will enjoy this but not for me.

This is the first book I've read by this author and so glad I did! A well written, captivating, small town romance at its best. You'll love the characters and feel like you're part of their lives. No spoilers here, just letting you know it's an enjoyable read you don't want to miss out on.

I enjoyed Kristen and Tyler's story. Her secrets weren't kept to be cruel, they were kept to protect herself. Tyler seems like a nice guy but his situation does make him a threat to her family.
The way they are forced to work together, their discovery of old feelings and what they do to solve their big problem makes this story hard to put down.
