Kimberla Lawson Roby’s book is really something special. Her personal stories of overcoming multiple challenges and obstacles all while adding her insights on how her faith focused her in the right direction is so powerful. I enjoyed the books structure where she gives you a story that leads into key points that are relevant. I have so many highlights and underlines in this book because they ministered to me. It has been a long while since I’ve read a book in one day. I could not put this book down! The transparency....the realness! This book was so relatable. I have been struggling in each of the three areas addressed in this book. I’ve been praying and I think God specifically answered my prayers and spoke to me through this book. Kimberla Lawson Roby is truly a gem and writing is truly her purpose. I have enjoyed all of her fiction books and now her nonfiction. She is truly gifted and blessed with her thoughts. Some writers only do well in a specific type, be it fiction OR nonfiction, but very seldom both. Kimberla is the exception! She’s awesome in both! I look forward to what’s to come.

Just wow! There is so much to delve into about this book. I’ve been a huge fan of Mrs. Roby for quite some time and this took my admiration for her even higher. There were always certain aspects of her life and career that I wondered about that she revealed and it almost felt like her memoir because she was so transparent. As an author myself, her journey in the literary industry resonated with me. I’m happy she didn’t let certain people or situations derail her path to success. This book truly blessed me and I highlighted so many passages throughout for future reference. I’m excited Mrs. Roby leaned on her faith to write her first nonfiction book because women everywhere need to read it. Phenomenal!

A book I will refer to again and again

I gave this book a five star because it was a blessing. I have highlighted and bookmark pages in the book. I know for a fact I will go back to Chapters 1-6 to read because that's where I need to be. I need to draw closer to God and once you do that everything else will follow.

This book was wonderful I will definitely recommend it to other women. I learned so many things that will help me grow with God and help me in all aspects of my life. Her book helps you realize you're more than enough. And, that God wants women to share their testimony to help other women. I will pass this book on to my daughter.

This book…I couldn’t rush this one at all. I had to take this one in. I wasn’t one to make known of my experience and walk with God but this book made me realise that I shouldn’t be hiding my faith and be proud but humble in my walk with God. Kimberly made me see that in everything I do I’m to give God what’s due to Him, be mindful of what I do, where I go and that whatever takes place, God should be the living proof of what happens in my life. This book was powerful testimony which is brought forth as an encouragement to all the women who want to get a synopsis into recognising what it means to be a woman of God. The things she went through, identifying and understanding her purpose in life and having God at the forefront for her life showed me that anything is possible as long as God is always priority. Always!!

Good advice for young women!

The book was a good read. Being an older woman, I have experienced much of what she was written about. It is a good read for younger women who have not experienced lifes aches and paines as of yet.
I love the Bible vereses she used!
