So this book was ok. It really started getting hairy when the authors began trying to explain the three different types of filtration, and I think they could have stream-lined and simplified their explanations. This book also could have benefitted from some color photos - particularly when describing different types of complications marine life can have. The CD of fish and other marine life is a little bit difficult to navigate and didn't provide quite as much information as I would have liked about each species. So, in sum, I would say this is an "average" book for beginning aquarists.
This book could have been written bettert, but I really appreciate the details it went to in describing the responsibilities of a saltwater aquarium. Someday I will have one of my own. :3
