This book distills decades of Pat Coleby's experience into a fascinating introduction to horse nutrition. Pat addresses the root causes of many equine health problems, noting the ease of prevention (and often correction) through adherence to a few rather shockingly simple nutrition practices. This is not usually a way to describe this type of book, but it was a real page-turner! It's full of vital, but often overlooked information. I'm going to buy her Natural Sheep Care book as well.

I have so many of Pat Coleby's books, I have enjoyed the reading so much and it's not necessarily a replacement for other methods but she encourages her readers to really understand why horses need minerals and the state of the land and how it affects livestock. I have used many of her methods and they have helped my horses numerous times!!
