Twenty years before we in the tech industry were muttering about online echo chambers and holding town halls about ethics in technology, Michael S. Malone was writing about the absolutist attitudes that die-hard tech fans were subscribing to, and the polarization in society this would inevitably create. In my desire to understand Silicon Valley's roots, I picked up this compilation of Malone's essays. It didn't disappoint.

Some of the pieces were uncannily prescient, like "Technofascism." Others
