Lincoln was my addiction. He was the only man I’d ever been with. Loving him had been like a drug, complete with all the nasty side effects. When I had him, it felt like the greatest high. When I didn’t, it was like my world fell apart. Over the years, I’d realized so much of my time had been a craving-praying for the next hit. Was there a support group for this—In Love An ...more

... Goodbyes doesn't really exist at all.

I took every chance I got to read this book because the title and the blurb intrigued me. I liked to hunt new stories, new authors, and I'm glad this one by Abby McCarthy didn't disappoint me.

Note: This is a second chance romance.

I lived this book. Undeniably! It made me shed happy tears, sad tears, made me savor every words, and be inspired! For certain, I felt an intense magic throughout the story.

I've read a lot of second chance romances this year, but this one just might be my absolute favorite. Lola and Lincoln's love story was emotional, captivating, and they had such a monumental romance.

Lola and Lincoln met in high school and it was love at first sight. They've been together ever since. Through Lincoln's basic training, deployments, and then an even bigger obstacle. Lola loves Lincoln, but she feels like something else always takes precedent. When something big happens

Give me a book with angst and I’m devouring it. Especially, a second chance romance.
Guys. This one is full of some raw emotions. Better have some Kleenex on hand and time because you’ll want to devour Abby’s words.
All the stars for The Last Goodbye.

4 stars for this emotional, second-chance romance about a marriage on the rocks!

I'm not the biggest fan of military romances (I always get Dear John PTSD vibes, that shit is way too upsetting for me) however, I took a chance on this one since the couple met in their early teens and the book focused more on the relationship breakdown of the couple rather than about the effects of war.

Lola and Lincoln meet when she is a sophomore and he is a senior at high school and it's insta-love at first sight

‘I was stuck between loving him and letting him go, and I wasn’t sure how fair that was to either of us.’

First off, the cover of this book drew us in immediately! It called to us with a promise of passion, angst and emotion, and The Last Goodbye certainly delivered on those fronts.

‘I love you more than words, I love you more than touches, I’ll love you ‘till the end of time.’

The heroine annoyed me

I don't understand the heroine. She was just whacked. He loved her but he also loved his family and took care of them. Yes He messed up and he went to jail but dumping him and not corresponding with him for three years. Ditching her mother in law that was nothing but good to her. and don't even get me started about 'Jet'! What a stupid name. Just a lot of annoyances. I would give anything to have a man love me so much. The sex scenes were a little graphic for me but there w

Lola and Linc's story was so heartfelt and what true love is. I did find myself being really angry with Lola because I thought she was being too hard on Linc when she had her own secrets she was keeping too.

With all of the obstacles these two overcame, they ended up up with the best happily ever after.

This was a hard book to put down and so with bleary eyes, at 3am, I finished.

We are first introduced to the h who is thinking about the letter she received telling her that he husband is up for parole.
Her BIL lets her know that H has been paroled and h reminds him not to pass on her new contact details.

As much as she still loves H, her heart cannot handle being put second to his brothers and being left again (she gives examples of when he enlisted, when he travelled and stayed for 4 mo

Another GreatRead by Abby McCarthy. I couldn't put this book down. You immediately fall in Love with Lola and Linc, their chance meeting in high school and immediate attraction have you instantly hooked, while all your own high school memories of friends and love and attractions come flooding back into your heart and mind. If you grew up in these years and love music the song references will really put your memories and heart right there with them. As the years pass you really get to know Lola a ...more

I could not put down The Last Goodbye. This book took hold from the very beginning and would not let go. I had tear in my eyes and a full heart by the time I was done reading. I love Lola and Lincoln so much. Their love story is one that needs to be read. The ups and downs and the emotions are so worth all the beauty in the words that Abby McCarthy gives us. I could go into great detail in everything involving Lola and Lincoln but I will not do that because you need to meet them and get the full ...more

I LOVED EVERY WORD FROM THIS BOOK! Would you just look at the cover? Pleaseeeeeee !
My god, is that chest pain I’m feeling right now?

I’m going to read every book that this Arthur has released.
I’m not joking.

“ I love you more than words. I love you more than touches. I love you enough to say goodbye. Yours, Linc”

Just stop right there! Breaking my heart!

A definite must read! The key is communication which seems to be something that Linc & Lola didn’t have probably due to him being gone so much. But what ends up possibly being their last goodbye could mean a new beginning. Lots of tissues needed as she tells us of how things were in the stages of their relationship.

Better grab a box of Kleenex. This book was absolutely 100% phenomenal! Lincoln and Lola met when they were teenagers. this is a second chance romance book. Lincoln did something bad that got him sent away to prison. Can Lola forgive him? Or will she have to walk away from the love that they shared? You guys are going to be thoroughly engrossed in this book!

The Last Goodbye by Abby McCarthy is the epitome of a second chance romance for me. It has all the emotional turmoil and angst that I crave! It kept my heart thumping, while I held my breath. I was totally invested in this couple.

Abby has become one of my go to authors. Her books are emotionally charged and full of feels! They always feature kick ass heroines and bad ass alphas....
In The Last Goodbye, she gifted us with Lincoln Paige. He is the man! Right from the start, he tugged at

Sweet & Emotional story of a first love, heartbreaks and second chances!

I enjoyed Lincoln & Lola's story, a tale of that first love that grabs you at a young age and refuses to let you go. These two survive so much life together only for the heroine to hit a breaking point. I felt so torn; I could understand his hurt directed at her yet I could also completely understand her anger towards him. This one had some big emotional parts that I was so wrapped up in that I didn't even realize I had tea

I could not put this book down!!! Lincoln and Lola will grab your heart from the beginning and will not let it go. They meet at a high school football game when they are young, she's 15 and he's 18. He's a foster child that finally found a family, and she from a single child overly protective family. It is love almost at first sight, and they feel like they can conquer the world together. Until they are torn apart. Lincoln is sentenced to prison, and Lola must walk away from him to protect her h ...more

The Last Goodbye was an emotional story that released my emotions to run amok all over the place, as the angst levels are seriously high. It did take me a bit to become fully immersed as it was a slow start in my eyes (and that's most likely on me). Lola & Linc are soulmates, and have had quite the run when she finally has had enough. The time that they didn't spend together as they were together wasn't the issue, it came when Linc decided to put someone ahead of her which sent him up the river ...more

Lola met Lincoln when she was 15, he left for the Army when she was 16. They dated long distance, married when he was on leave. She graduated high school and college, started her career alone. He finally is home so they can live their lives together when one stupid decision takes him away from her for years. She vows she is done. When he reappears in her life can Lola forgive him for the pain he caused or give him a last goodbye.

This was my first book by this author and what an emotional story.

This book sucked me in from the first few pages. It was AMAZING! I truly felt love at first sight while reading. The emotions this book made me feel were so real that I completely ignored the outside world while reading. This is a love story that will make you laugh, cry and flip the pages to see what’s next. I did not want this book to end.
