She was always mine … whether she wanted to be or not
Ten years ago I allowed another man to take her to pay her father’s debt. Fighting for her would have started a blood war.
Now she’s back in my life and brings more than I bargained for. She comes to me scared, helpless, and begging for my help. Her enemies want to take her again. Blackmail her and hold her captive.
I’ll help her…but for a price. Thirty days. Nothing off limits The years that have passed haven’t changed a thing. I still want her just as much as I ever did. I want her for myself. On her knees before me, in my bed, everywhere. Every day, forever. I’ll protect her from everything. Except me. Beneath the mask I wear, I may be the devil she doesn’t want, but needs.
I want her to be mine. My property, my possession. What I never knew was our second chance may be my end.
Taunt Me is a standalone, full-length second chance DARK Billionaire Mafia Romance in the Dark Odyssey series. If you love a possessive Alpha you will love this. CAUTION: Be prepared for one wild, steamy ride. Read at your own risk.
I am so in love with this series. Taunt Me is the second story in the Dark Odyssey series and these books keep getting darker and sexier. Taunt Me is a hard read at times due to the graphic and troubling themes that Faith walks us through. But that is what makes it such a good book also.
Charlotte is a young girl when this book starts out. She is in love and just starting her life with Gabe when she is kidnapped from her family. Ten years have gone by where she is used and abused by horrible men.
Gabe has no way of knowing if Charlotte is alive or dead. Gabe is NOT the same man he was before Charlotte was taken. Of course, neither one of them are. But he refuses to go on without her. So when he looks over the sea of people at Dark Odyssey and sees Charlotte after ten years he knows he has to have her again.
Although I am not a fan of second chance stories Taunt Me is more than that. Gabe and Charlotte have so much more than finding their love again. They have that. Gabe and Charlotte have so much more to worry about, like saving their lives and the ones they love.
If you like mafia romances, you'll enjoy this book. It's the second book in the Dark Odyssey Series but is a standalone. Dark romance at it 's best. This book is steamy and guaranteed to set your Kindle on fire. Grab a comfortable chair and a cool drink because you'll need it. Once I started reading it was hard to put down. Dark, delicious and over the top. The book is full of suspense, danger and lots of drama. So many twists my head was spinning. A great read. "I received the ARC from Bad Boy Update"
3.75 stars--TAUNT ME is the second instalment in Faith Summers (Khardine Gray) contemporary, adult Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance/Dark Odyssey erotic, mafia, romance series focusing on the Giordano brothers who own and operate the exclusive Dark Odyssey Sex Club. This is thirty-eight year old Gabriel Giordano, and twenty-eight year old Charlotte Revello’s story line. TAUNT ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Gabe and Charlotte) TAUNT ME follows the rekindling romance and relationship between thirty-eight year old Gabriel Giordano, and twenty-eight year old Charlotte Revello. Ten years earlier Charlotte Revello was caught in a mob war not of her making-payment for sins of the father, Charlotte found herself facing ten years of sexual servitude in Sicily, Italy for a man her father had long angered beyond our heroine’s comprehension but Charlotte left behind the man whom she loved, a man who would never stopped loving our story line heroine. Fast forward to present day wherein another mob battle for control finds Charlotte believing she is a free woman, when she returns to the States in an effort to start anew. Enter Gabriel Giordano, the man who has never stopped loving Charlotte, but a man who is now the target of the Italian mob. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Charlotte and Gabe, and the potential fall-out as Charlotte fears for Gabriel’s life and offers herself up, as payment, again.
Gabriel Giordano will never forget Charlotte Revello but all attempts at a rescue were met with numerous killings, tortures and abuse. Ten years would pass wherein Gabe finds himself at a crossroads in both his personal and professional world until the moment Charlotte enters back into his life. Charlotte Revello endured years of humiliation and abuse, and with the death of her original abductor, Charlotte finds herself the target of a psychotic mind. Fleeing to America, Charlotte thought she could get her life in order but quickly discovers that the darkness and danger have followed her home.
The relationship between Gabe and Charlotte is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people torn apart by the sins of the father, and the ongoing war for power and control. Charlotte struggles with the darkness of her past but Gabriel is determined to save Charlotte from the demons. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I struggled with the use of a certain four-letter word when used in a romantic situation.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Gabe’s brother Nikolai and Vincent, as well as their cousins Christian and Georgiou; Charlotte’s parents and her sister Cordelia,. The requisite evil has many faces including Antonio DeLuca, and Tobias Antonella.
TAUNT ME is a story of family, betrayal, power and revenge. The premise is dark and gritty; the romance is provocative; the characters are dangerous, broken, spirited and flawed. My only concern was the number of times stupid choices meant stupid results –for a crime organization, intelligence and common sense were not at the top of their list of priorities.
Not realistic at all. I don't buy the story. No protect, guards, trained paid men. They always seem open to enemies. And, spoiler alert: what kind of person that's been shot in the testicle can run fast enough to dodge bullets after he was recently released from the hospital. And please don't get me started on the female lead character. I think she has cotton between her ears.
In the 2nd story of the Dark Odyssey Series we have Gabe and Charlotte’s story. Twelve years ago Gabe does some work for Charlotte’s dad and ends up having a secret relationship with her and the night after Charlotte turns 18 they spend one beautiful night together and have planned what the future holds for them. The next day all heck breaks lose at Charlotte’s house and she loses her 2 brothers and grandmother to a ruthless man, Antonio as her father lost the money invested by some corrupted mafia families and his brother ended up killing himself so he is looking for revenge. He takes Charlotte for partial payment and no one is able to save her from 10 years of brutal pain and abuse by Antonio and those he allows to use Charlotte when they pay him money for the time. One day she is given a rare gift by another unstable mafia man who kills Antonio and Charlotte gets home hoping that she’ll be able to start over even if it means leaving her family again. Charlotte knows she needs to see Gabe one time before she goes through her leaving and ends up at the club and sees Gabe and she does not realize it but Gabe saw her and goes after her. Once Gabe goes to her home he goes right for her room and they have a moment where they are taken back 10 years. Charlotte keeps the truth from Gabe until she is forced to reveal parts of it and Gabe is on a mission to cause pain to the person responsible. When they take 30 days to figure things out Gabe believes he can show Charlotte that they are meant to be together nI matter of the outside forces. When things get turned upside down again Charlotte believes her actions are to protect those she loves only to become another pawn in an evil plan. This story has darkness, sexual experiences with darkness, blood and death. Gabe, his brothers and father are a group of men who will do whatever is necessary to protect those who belong to them! I look forward to the next story in this Dark Mafia Romance series! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "TAUNT ME" OMG!!!!! What a dark intense drama, suspense, intrigue, angst, abuse, killing, twists that you never saw coming. Charlotte gets her freedom from an unlikely force her husband Antonio has been murdered she returns home to her family but not to stay she wants out of this life never to put in that terrible situation ever again. Gabe sees a woman at the bar at "THE DARK ODYSSEY" it's just a feeling but when she looks up him masked he feels it's Charlotte but then she gone she only came to see him to close that chapter of her life and move on. Gabe and Charlotte meet one last time before she going to leave it one of the hottest nights of her life their chemistry is off the charts scorching hot then she leaving to work at Raventhorne Academy teaching. All chaos breaks out when Gabe finds out about Tobias Antonella and what he did and wants from Charlotte he won't let him have her he goes to the meet with his brothers and other capos from past books. So much happens your sitting on the edge of your seat so well written and definitely well worth the read I so can't wait for book 3 "THRILL ME" this is an addicting series I highly recommend. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!
ok not sure How I really feel about this story,.. I liked it... but it definitely should say it has triggers if it did not already say something like that.. not for me I am not usually bothered by much ..but there are those who are.. having said that ... This is Gabe and Charlottes story and at 18 she is stolen,.. pretty much away after the night she gives away her gift of virginity to the man she has chosen to love forever .. what follows is death, mayhem and heartache for families and Gabe and sadly Charlotte.. 10 yrs pass and somehow Char finds she is set free from her horrors and she comes home to what she thinks is freedom only to find she is still being hunted by Tobias the 1 man who treated her worse than the man who stole her away I kinda found it hard that this author did not write Char having any issues ...I mean she bounces back so quickly into a sexual relationship with Gabe despite having been continuously abused before and never went to counseling or suffered flashbacks?? seriously 10 yrs of abusiveness?? Gabe’s idea of sex is not all vanilla and he’s very demanding in sex, the rough sort...well you get my drift. I wanted to feel for Charlotte but any form of despair and/or helplessness the author glossed over SEVERAL major issues. I get the author not wanting to draw it out into a “poor me” or "whoa is me" deal but come on 10 years of abuse? That in itself is shocking and Charlotte jumping back into things as if she was never abducted was a bit far fetched .... Please the story was a good read and I really should probably have gave it a 3 stars ... cause it was ok ... but I try to look over the missing and look at the overall love fest :) hahahaha but Gabe is not letting her go he fights for her and well..... you know love always wins hahaha
Wow! Ms. Summer writes some very hot and sexy scenes in The Dark Odyssey books. I loved Tease Me, Nick’s story, and Taunt Me did not disappoint. Gabe’s story was just as hot, suspenseful, and dangerous as Tease Me.
Gabe lost his true love ten years ago. She was taken from him and he couldn’t do anything about it. In his world it was too dangerous for him to go after her since his entire family and any friends of the family were threatened if he went after Charlotte.
Charlotte is destined to live in hell. She was taken away from her family and has lived in hell for ten years. Finally, she is freed. However, is she really? The person who freed her is just as dangerous, if not more so than her husband was. She knows that she can’t tell anyone of what happened to her in Italy, or they will all be in danger.
I loved this story. The heat, suspense and Giordano men only left me wanting so much more. The danger that the family has to fight off to keep their women safe is always dark. The draw between Gabe and Charlotte is constant. Neither one wants to live without the other. They were made for each other and will both do whatever they can to save the other. If you like mafia, dark, sexy, suspense filled stories, you will love The Dark Odyssey series. One-click Taunt Me and be prepared for a steamy read. I give this book 5-steamy stars.
There are some dark themes going on here rating from rape all the way to cannibalism. Charlotte and Gabe had their immediate future planned out after one night of bliss. Unbeknownst to anyone life was about to be destroyed on a scale of earthquake proportions. Taken by a mobster that can destroy Gabe’s family even if they retaliated in an effort to save her, Charlotte had to endure ten years of abuse on all levels before returning home. It’s not a free pass though as the maniac that killed her husband believes she belongs to him. The major issue I have with this was that Charlotte bounced back so quickly into a sexual relationship with Gabe despite having been continuously abused before and never went to counseling or suffered flashbacks. Gabe’s idea of sex is not all vanilla and he’s very demanding in the bedroom, out the bedroom, in the kitchen, well you get my drift. I wanted to feel Charlottes despair and helplessness but the author glossed over major issues. I get not wanting to draw it out into a “poor me” water fest but come on . Ten years of abuse? That in itself is shocking and Charlotte jumping back into things as if she was never abducted seems crazy. There is some graphic violence but hey, were dealing with mobsters and assassins here. Overall an eye raising read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Normally I don't always love the 2nd book more than the first when it's different couples, but I really believe that Taunt Me surpassed Tease Me, and please understand that I'm not saying that I didn't absolute LOVE Tease Me. Anyway, I guess it's because this story had way more suspense going on with a big danger kicker, not to mention the second chance at love situation going between Gabriel Giordano & Charlotte Revello. See, they were in love, like that forever love, when her father's business ran into some issues, and she was taken away from him for 10 years to be abused big time. Now that she's finally free, she's come back to the states, where they come across each other's path again, only she's in even more serious danger, and needs his help but it will cost her. Yep, that means the twists & turns are amazing, and kept me dropping f-bomb after f-bomb cover to cover, on top of that whole leveled up sexiness that kept the fan on high! I LOVED every minute of this story, and certainly CANNOT wait for more when it comes to the super sexy, powerful Giordano family, so hit those one click buttons to experience all this goodness (though dark) for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Tease me review- It was alright, but there were way too many side characters who were never introduced & therefore really hard to keep track of. I kept having to go back & look up all the different names. I understand that the author was probably laying the foundation for later books, but I found it too confusing. Especially since, even though the characters were mentioned, they weren’t given with any kind of explanation. Like Vanessa, the book explained that she might have been Nick’s first love; but not how they met, what their relationship was like, or even why it ended. Or Claudius, we understand that he is the head of his own family & an ally; but not what the exact relationship is between the two families. The book never mentions how Frankie, the eldest brother, died either. I just felt like there were too many holes, & honestly the book didn’t really focus on their mob ties at all. It was more about the sex club.
The pro’s- I loved Mia & Nick’s relationship. I love how the list was instant, but I could see the relationship evolve. Although, I really did think Nick was a complete idiot for waiting so long to ask about her troubles, & even then not push it. It didn’t feel very mafia like to me.
I was excited to read about Gabe bc I know he always spoke about how he loved the one person he loved yrs ago in Nick's book. But I could of sworn they said she was dead unless I mistaken that for another character.
The storyline was good. Tons of drama. But I did find the sex scenes to be almost identical to Nick's book in some parts.
I felt bad for what Charlotte went through. But I will also say I didn't like her much. I found her to be naive for someone nearly 30. I think she made many very dumb choices and felt she kept putting herself in her stressful situations. For example....she decided she was going to move in her own to overcome her issues and try to dissolve herself from being connected to mafia life but mind you there's a current threat for her and just bc you disconnect yourself from people doesn't stop you from still being a daughter of someone from mafia so I thought that was very ignorant.
Tobias was a true villain which was good for the story. Glad we got some background as to why he is way he is. I think there should of been clarification who Barbaas is to Tobia.
Everlasting love ignites the eternal light of hope through the heart-aching darkness of despair Wow! Taunt Me: A Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Dark Odyssey Book 2) by Faith Summers (Khardine Gray) is truly an edge of your seat, hold your breath, heart in your throat, taunt with the dreaded anticipation of something dark and dangerous lurking just around the corner. Always. This book has all the feels for the characters. My heart was so heavy for them both, but Charlotte’s perseverance and resilience is inspiring. Gabe’s persistence is just what Charlotte needs to rediscover herself. These two are hot and heavy, super steamy and just as emotionally connected as if 10 years had not separated them. Overall, despite the darkness, Gabe and Charlotte find the light in the happiness of their everlasting, unending and epic love. Their love survived the ten year tortured separation, danger and evil doesn’t stand a chance against their HEA. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
I didn’t think it could get any hotter but Faith Summers Just keeps turning up the heat! It’s sexy, raw, heartbreaking, intense and will have you guessing to the very end. Gabriel is stuck he can’t move forward without his beautiful Charlotte. The day she was taken his heart stopped. How can he live without her? Then he gets the chance of a lifetime. His Goddess is back in his arms. Charlotte is finally free. But at what cost? Ten long years of abuse at the hands of a twisted and sick man did nothing to dim Charlotte’s love for Gabe. Their love is so powerful it consumes them both. Could they have a second chance? Gabe is obsessed with his Goddess. But Tobias Antonella, the devil himself Is too. He’s come to collect his debit and Charlotte is his payment. He’s playing a twisted game Gabe may not win. Gabe will do anything to protect the love of his life. But his time may have just run out! “I voluntarily received this arc book from Bad Boy Update for an honest review”

Gabriel has loved Charlotte since she was sixteen but he's ten years older. They have the same birthday and on the day she turned 18 she gave her virginity to him. However, when she snuck home, she witnessed the killing of both her big brothers and was kidnapped and taken off to Italy where she lived with her husband as he sold her as a prostitute. Poor Gabriel was forced to accept as the man who took her paid her family a visit and killed all the family's staff, threatening to kill all of his family if he came after him. Imagine his surprise to think he saw her ten years later in his sex club. This book tells the story of their renewed love affair in the midst of mafia war! Khardine Grey is always a good read. Faith Summers is her name for her dark stories and this story is dark indeed.
After ten years Gabe still carries the weight of guilt on his shoulders after losing his soulmate. He buries himself in his club Dark Odyssey, women and booze. Until one night when a ghost of his past appears in his club.
After ten years of abuse from her cruel and ruthless husband and his friends Charlotte is now free to return home. She must keep quiet as to who killed her husband.
Tobias is one sick psychopath. He's into games when it comes to people's lives before he kills them and sometimes he eats them.
As Gabe and Charlotte try to rebuild their relationship Charlotte's past sneaks back into her life putting everyone in danger.
Taunt Me is Gabe and Charlotte's heartbreaking story. Finally a light at the end of the tunnel.
Can't wait for next installment Thrill Me. Salvatore and Mimi's story.
Wow this book is darker than the last, and Gabe and Charlotte are our main characters in this one. Gabe is just s dark and delicious as Nick is. Charlotte our beautiful heroine well this tough cookie has been through the wringer. When things go a rye with her father's business her life is irrevocably changed. There are things that are set into motion that could ruin lives. With the things that are set into motion Gabe maybe kinda loses who he truly is for a bit. He knows who his heart belongs to and will stop at nothing to get her back. I get this review isn't giving a whole lot away, but I am telling you, you need to follow these two down the dark and twist paths their lives follow. You need to see just how two soul mates fight to get back to where they each belong.
I really enjoyed Charlotte and Gabriel’s story. As the second book in the series was really nice to see how Nick and Mia relationship progresses. Gabe was one of the sexiest alpha males I’ve read in a while and the love he had for Charlotte was intense and captivate. Charlotte was traumatic experience is one of those situations that can really make you hurt for her and I totally understood her fear and reluctance when she returned home to her old life. The story was well written and flowed well. I have this a 4/5 stars because it took me alittle longer than normal to read but it wasn’t due to lack of intensity the begin was intense and the middle felt alittle drawn out but I still enjoyed reading nonetheless.
Charlotte has been living in hell for 10 years. 10 years ago, the love of Gabe's life was taken from him with no chance of a return. Now is their chance? Will Charlotte allow herself to take the leap? Will Gabe get everything he ever wanted?
This one was definitely darker than the first book in this series, but just like the first, I was hooked. I couldn't help, but feel bad for everything Charlotte was put through, but loved to see her gain strength and start to take that chance. I loved how Gabe was still willing to do anything to protect her, even after all the years apart. Good dark mafia read!

This was a terrific read and I am just loving this series. I thought Charlotte and Gabriel's story was intense, dark, twisted, poignant, tragic, steamy and suspenseful. My heart really hurt for these two as their love story, that starts out so sweet and beautiful takes a horrifying, violent and heartbreaking turn. This romance just consumed me. Be warned; your emotions will be put through a wringer and your nerves will be stretched to the breaking point as this couple gets another shot at a HEA. I loved book one but I thought that this one was even better. I can't wait for book three. This is my sincere, volitional review.
Ms. Faith Summers has a new and completely compelling Series on her hands with The Dark Odyssey releases.
Taunt Me centers around Gabriel and his "Godess", Charlotte. There is dramatic romance and absolutely everything to love. If ever there was a romance that will keep you hooked on every word, where you actually feel the emotions... I implore you to give Ms. Summers a chance.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Taunt Me in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
As a side note, around the 95% mark, I actually teared up and I can assure you that is a very rare thing.
OMG this is the second book in the Dark Odyssey series and HOLY HELL this was just as amazing as the first book. In this one we get to see Gabriel and Charlotte's story and holy hell what a story it is.
Gabriel meets Charlotte and wants her as his own but she can't be his because she is being sent to Italy to pay her fathers debt off. Fast forward ten years and Charlotte shows up at his door step begging for help and he is more than happy to help her out. Only he doesn't know that he is about to be a target for the mafia.
These two are going to have to fight hard to be together. Can they do it or will they both lose their lives?
It wasn't a bad read. Losing someone you love to a family debt only to find them 10 years later and rekindle the old flame that once was. My biggest issue however was after there many sexual encounters when things start to get naughtier the writing is the same play by play as the first book with two different characters. Even the safe word is the same.... I guess I was looking for some difference besides the characters names and bad guy issues. Its a bag guy likes girl bigger bad guy takes girl and original bad guy fights to get girl back. Oh then of course they get married and pop out a kid.

It's been ten years and no amount of booze or women will erase the memory of Gabe's goddess, Charlotte. She was always meant to be his and then she was taken away from him to repay her father's debt to a psycho. Charlotte spent ten horror filled years with a madman that made her do things she's not proud of and now that she's free again she just wants to live her life for herself. Even if that means saying goodbye forever to the man she still loves, Gabe Giordano. But will Gabe let her go so easily, especially when trouble comes knocking on her door once again. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
Gabe and Charlotte will draw you into this story from first page. They were destined to be together they even shared the same birth date. When Charlotte's fathers' business goes bust, it sets into motion a destruction that will change her family structure forever. In order to save the rest of her family she had to marry De Lucca who never treated women well. Now she is free and looking for protection from her first love Gabe. Their reconnection was supposed to be a way for him to free himself of her but will it in fact free him from the past that can lead to a happily ever after finally? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I just loved reading this, dark and on the edge of your seat, story about Gabriel Giordano, co-owner of the Dark Odyssey and Charolotte Revello, his stolen goddess. It’s full of drama, haunting details, heartbreaking, suspenseful, hot sexy scenes and the hard earned happy ever after. Faith does a fantastic job getting the story out and I can’t wait to read what shenanigans Salvatore gets up to with Mimi. Kudos to Ms Summers on a great read!! I have voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC for my unbiased opinion. 💢
This book was a good read. I absolutely love Gabe and his brothers. Character of Charlotte was ok my issue with Charlotte character is if you were taken and indured 10 years of abuse and rape repeatedly you wouldn't go back to your first love and see how he's doing and then go and have sex with him over and over like she did after everything she went through you would be traumatized and need to be by yourself and find yourself again just saying. The chemistry between gabe and Charlotte are off the charts and they did get their hea. This was a good book overall.
Sex and mafia good combination. I would have given more, but I just felt that Charlotte’s 10 year‘s of trauma was glossed over. How do you just recover in a blink of an eye. No PTSD nothing. You would think after 10 years there would be some lasting effects. Not a thing and she just jumps into a sexual relationship with no problems. The relationship on top of everything isn’t vanilla to say the least.
The mafia stuff was good and the villains were evil. I will read the next.
I received the ARC from Bad Boy Update. So dark and sexy...I loved Gabe's story. Gabe lost his true love, Charlotte 10 years ago. Charlotte lived through her own hell and now vows to leave that life and start new. She thinks a quick goodbye to Gabe will be enough, until she lays eyes on him. All their chemistry and passion is still there, but with the danger that surrounds them will they ever be able to truly be together? This is packed with intrigue, danger, drama and sooo much passion...loved it!
