That’s what he is. The one who stole me. The man who ripped me from a life I thought was mine. There was no negotiating. No choice to be made. And no. Way. Out.
He says my whole life has been a lie. I believe him.
He says he’s addicted to my tears. I believe him.
He says once I give him what he wants, he’ll let me go…
I don’t believe him.
~ Saint ~
Orphan. Fighter. Secret.
That’s what she is. The woman I took. The woman they tried to hide from me but failed. Now she’s exactly where she’s meant to be. At my side. And at my mercy.
The blood that runs through her veins makes me her king. But to me she’s nothing but a means to an end. A way for me to feed my vengeance.
Once she gives me what I want I’ll let her go back to her miserable, mundane life. But for now, she’s mine to play with…
Bella J is an International Bestselling Author who loves writing dark and gritty romance with alpha-holes who have absolutely no redeeming qualities...until they do. Maybe.
This was definitely dark. The Hero is a murderer, kidnapper and a jerk. His name is Saint and he definitely doesn’t take after his name. He has a dark, depraved side which he brings out in full force right from the start of this story. The heroine is a young woman named Mila who grew up in the New York foster care system. Saint has plans for her so he pays some young guy to become her friend, gain her trust and bring her to him when the time is right.
Mila has been hanging out with her friend Brad for a while and having a good time. Though when Brad brings her to a fancy hotel because he has to drop off a package with some rich guy, she has no problem tagging along. Mila wanted to see the inside of the hotel. However when they get to the penthouse to meet the guy, he makes her nervous. It isn’t long before Saint kidnaps her and takes her to Italy.
Mila finds out that she is the daughter of an important family in Italy and that Saint is also from an important family. Their families made a pact years ago that the firstborn daughter of Mila’s family would marry the firstborn son of Saint’s. That was over 80 years ago and Mila was the first daughter born since then. However, her family didn’t want the marriage to take place so she was declared dead as an infant and sent to America and put in the foster care system. Now Saint wants revenge and wants what is his.
The relationship between Saint and Mila is contentious and steamy. Saint is very dark and that includes what he likes in the bedroom. Mila fights him on everything and he doesn’t like her filthy mouth, he doesn’t like be disrespected, and he wants obedience. Mila is not the type to give in and fights Saint at every turn. Though she is afraid of him and has every right to be after what he has done.
This book ends in a big cliffhanger and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. I really disliked Saint through most of this book, but he has a way of getting what he wants. It bothers me when guys who are in a power position demand things of the girl that they themselves don’t have to go by. For example he doesn’t like her cursing but he curses and talks filthy to her. He doesn’t like her to disrespect him but he disrespects her by kidnapping her and humiliating her.
Though I can’t say I don’t like the book, I just don’t like the Hero. I loved the fact that for these things I mentioned, Mila keeps doing them and when Saint tells her not to, she brings up the hypocrisy. Though he doesn’t agree with her and still does what he pleases, I like a girl that keeps fighting back. I think a guy like that has to lose his control in order to change and I can’t wait to see Saint get beat by Mila.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I was that one lucky bitch to BETA this amazingly written story of forbidden romance between the impossible and a sparkling moth!
Bella J. has always been on my top list, since I read her Mafia High series and trust me when I say this, it keeps getting better and better with every new story update.
With a full 5 star, TROS won my heart, body, mind and soul. Bella James weaves her way into my sinister mind like the she devil and wrecks it with Saint’s sinful liaisons and Mila’s sweet innocence. The Rise Of Saint will leave you gasping for more, with your jaws hanging on the floor! It was subtle and dangerous, raw and tender and a complete blockbuster read of the year from this immensely talented author.
A dark romance with filth, deceits and an over the top alpha makes up for a perfect read anytime. When Mila finds herself in an unknown world with strangers and dangers, things get messy with lust and secrets revolving around her. As she fights her way towards seeking the truth, unraveling her own heart, she almost falls into the pit or is it an illusion to our minds? Only one way to find out! A sexy predator out to hunt his sweet and naive prey gives you lasting moments of euphoria.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐎𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ . & . 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐎𝐟 𝐒𝐢𝐧: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ . I'm so mad at myself right now like really mad 😑. I started reading this series thinking it was a duet but it turned out it was a bloody trilogy and now I'm upset cause I can't wait for the third book 😑. . Anyways, I loved Saint A LOT!! He is the epitome of hotness and dominance and all the sexy things wrapped in one package. And Mila, that woman is a firecracker she never backs down. Regardless of everything she's been through she keeps fighting. SHE IS PERFECT. I really can't wait to see what's gonna happen next for both of them 🥺
Mila, was a child who grew up in the foster system and left to fight for her survival. But the layers that surround her life are starting to unfold. When she comes face to face with Saint, she is confronted with a multitude of physical and emotional assaults, but she is adamant about not losing her true self. Can she stand up to this man or will he be the man that can give her what she has been missing in her life for so long – the truth? And if so, at what cost? Saint brings out pain, pleasure, and unadulterated dominance. He is a monster and if he does have a soul, it’s shrouded in a suit of armor. He makes no bones about what he wants from Mila, that she is just a business transaction, a means to an end and nothing more, or is he just fooling himself? Mila is left with a complicated array of emotions. Her transition throughout her ordeal was to stay strong, but even the strongest person can crack. Saint is definitely an acquired taste, a monster with sadistic desires. Yet he is hell-bent on vengeance and Mila is his trump card, or is she? Hot books and Sassy Girls

"Genre" -- from the French meaning "type" or "category" -- has its good points. Certainly, with their analogous character types, imagery, plot points, and tropes, readers know what they'll be getting and at times (particularly now), that in itself is comforting. In addition, since every reader has a genre they love, they will, of course, respond to those tropes, etc.
So, if you like the genre of "dark romance," with the sub-genres of "enemies-to-lovers" and "forced marriage," you may very well like this since it's not badly written or edited, and it has all the usual elements of this genre. They include: a "dominant" millionaire H who at first physically and emotionally abuses then falls in love with the h and is upset that she won't trust him despite giving her absolutely no reason to do so; an h who "fights" him, but then folds the first time he touches her because "her body betrays her;" the "good girl" whose sole purpose in life in the book is to redeem the "bad boy;" descriptions of designer clothes, gourmet food, mansions, and exotic locales; plenty of sex and violence; and dark secrets, melodramatic backstories, and misunderstandings. So, if this is all you're looking for, then this may well be a book you enjoy.
Now for the negative aspects of generic books: because -- except for the best entries -- they are nearly interchangeable, after a while they become boring, predictable, same-old same-old, and instantly forgettable. There's absolutely nothing new under the sun here; it's really a "write-by-numbers" book with all the necessary boxes checked off. Since, for me, I like my genre to have a little more depth, this was not the story for me.
'The Rise Of Saint' is the first book of the 'Sins of Saint' Trilogy by the bestselling author Bella Jewel. Told in dual perspectives ,this book was one overwhelming ride of passion and mystery!
I have read tons and tons of books by this author and everytime she manages to shock me with her impeccable sense of writing and twisting words that shatter my heart into pieces. Saint and Mila 's story was an amazing book full of so many surprises and a chemistry that shakes you to the core.
The book starts with Mila being led to an expensive hotel by her new friend. He says that he is there to deliver a package. What she doesn't know is that she is the Package. To Saint Russo. Saint is a true dominant in every way. He kidnaps Mila , without the fear of any repercussions or problems. He expects obedience in every way , something his new captive does not understand. There was just one thing that I found a bit odd about his character. That was he expected Mila to always respect him , even though he had done nothing to deserve it . His arrogance sometimes grated on my nerves! Hopefully we will see a transition in the upcoming books.
This story was full of twists and turns and had me at the edge of my seat till the very end!! I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to all the dark Romance lovers!
This is a dark romance. So be prepared. It’s dark but it is sexy. It ends in a cliffhanger and has you salivating for more!!
Saint is a monster. He will tell you he is a bad man. But is there a method behind his madness or is this all for revenge?!!!
Mila is an orphan. She is a strong woman who has had one hell of a life. He took her, he stole her. Can she be his if it means she can save one girl?!?!
“..The life of a girl with no home who grew up to be a woman with no identity…until a saint came and took her. Only he was no fucking saint, but a beast who snatched her from the only world she’d ever known and forced her into his.”
🖤🖤 Let me be honest. Saint is sexy as sin and he drives me wild but he pushed my buttons quite a bit. He made me tiptoe the line quite a bit and I don’t usually mind crossing the line. Lol. The sexual tension between these two is enough to spark a fire in anyone. So damn hot.
I was lucky enough to beta read this for the author so its not suppose to be in its perfect form yet but can I say it was damn near perfect. I enjoy the way Bella puts pen to paper. She develops these characters and whether you hate them or you love them they are all you think about. She doesn’t loose you in conversations. Everything is spelled out clearly. I am a huge fan of her work and can not wait for the next book!!
This amazing woman has done it again! This dark read had my anxiety so high. The secrets were piling up and the sexual tension was so thick I almost suffocated just reading it. These 2 characters will have you screaming..for lots of reasons. Saint is a man you love to hate. And Mila is just stubborn in every way possible and didnt see what was right in front of her. Definitely my favorite read of 2020 so far!
ATTENTION: This review contains Spoilers. Updated.
What did I just read??? Such a beautiful story!!!! Till almost half of the book I hated Saint but then I started to like him and now I love him. I love the plot, the characters, their names, I love their qualities and their flaws, I love everything about this book!!!!
The beginning of The Rise of Saint goes right to the point, which I loved, and leaves us with so many questions. How does Saint know Mila? Why did he kidnapped her? I found those answers later in the book but everytime I started a new chapter, I kept having more and more questions, some were answered and others we'll find in the second book. Although at first, I hated Saint, he became irresistible, and the chemistry between him and Mila is off the charts. Mila's life is a secret and Saint knows all about it, will he reveal it? You will have to read it to find out. There were a lot of times I saw myself smiling at my tablet thinking, what did I just read? In a good way of course. Each chapter leaves you wanting more and more!!! Yesterday I read like half of the book, I couldn't get enough of it!!! I was so nervous at the end, not knowing what was going to happen next, it ends in a cliffhanger and what a cliffhanger... Can't wait to dive in the second book, The Fall of Sin.
OMG! What did I just read!!!!!!! I NEED book 2 NOW. Wow.
This was one hell of a dark, twisted, and angst-driven romance! Wow. Wow. Wow.
Saint. I’m dumbfounded and so conflicted when it comes to him. He is SEXY AF but just as well harsh, cruel, and oh so mysterious!! I am so curious to know his reasons for doing, well, everything!! I need answers.
And Mila? I honestly don’t know whether I envy her or pity her, LOL! One moment things are looking promising — and HOT — with Saint, but just as quickly, everything dives head first straight to hell. One thing I am sure about, though, and that’s that she is one hell of a strong woman!
As far as the story goes, I need answers!! I cannot wait for book 2. Seriously. Can’t wait.
5 fabulous stars!!! Please be warned this does end on a cliffhanger, but what a cliffhanger it is!!!! If you are looking for hearts and flowers in this dark romance, then you need to look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a dark anti hero whom you are going to love to hate then look no further. Saint is a man on a mission, a mission that requires a beautiful young lady. When Mila first meets Saint her world is turned inside out and upside down. All I will say is this book is so worth it, and the mind f@#kery that takes place will not only leave your head spinning, but your mind screaming it wants more!! I am anxiously waiting for the next book, because I need, no wait I am craving to see just how Saint and Mila's story pans out.
I’m so conflicted with this book! Do I love Saint or do I hate him??? Bella J sets you up for a roller coaster of emotions with this latest gut wrencher. Saint is the suave, dominant, wealthy but twisted kidnapper and killer and Mila is his prey, his secret weapon and his undoing. Their story is fast and angsty, emotions all in upheaval. The ending was totally unexpected! Can’t wait to see more of Saints secrets unfold... This book deserves every one of the 5 stars I rated!!!
dnf! all those loving this utter humiliation of h like this, how would you feel this happening to you, your sister, or your own daughter?
showing h sooo sexually desperate that every time H successfully makes a slave out of her just bcuz he's good looking and she can do..well nothing? Authors need to get a life and create more creativity instead of same damnn old BDSM shit over and over again.
This was a rush, a thrill and an adrenaline injection only Bella J's hands can come up with...
A suspenseful, tempting and alluring ride you are somewhat hesitant to jump on BUT you still fucking do it, just so you can be as deprived as the notion itself...
yeah, that's what this is all about...the secrets, the lies, and the devious plans you really shouldn't know about BUT then you are ripping your every single remaining atom in your mind to get the answers...
I loved everything, the darkness, the thrilling, dangerous allure and a tad bit dubious actions of Marcello Saint Russo but at least he's consistent in it all...
As the heroine is concerned, Milana Katarina Torres aka Mila Black started as a resilient, defiant force only to become, in my humble opinion, what seemed like a weakness of her own sexual desires, in my eyes and believe it or not, I didn't like that, much...LOL
I wanted her to own her sex, sexual power and desire and turn it against Saint, the very man who pushed her into that seemingly weak and compliant struggle, so she appeared to me as to be melting just because of a man's touch, even though she "hated the man" or his actions, and than the "emotional segment" I didn't really buy it...it was too conflicted and messy for the heroine to get the clear notion and sense of the possibility of an emotion, as strong as it's described here...
but, it is what it is...
and to cut to the chase, I can only admire the power of writing of suspenseful and thrilling bordering darkness and conflicting yet tempting allure that Bella J simply excels in, in each and every single one of her books...
Well, this was not quite what I was expecting. Usually the anti-hero has some redeeming qualities, but I don’t think this one does. It starts off as your normal dark read, but it felt like I was missing a few chapters or another book. But the hero is abusive. He did what he did to her because he could “see she wanted it in her eyes”, so that made the dubious consent seem more like rape, especially when she tells him no or to stop, and he doesn’t. He whips her with his belt as punishment as well as spanking, but it’s ok cause it turns her on in the end, I mean she’s wet and ready for him so she must really like this treatment, right? he also likes to grab her by her hair and pull her places and aggressively choke and crush her face against wall and tables. He is abusive. So much happened, yet nothing did in this book. The heroine is wish washy. I’m not sure if I want to read the next book or not (oh yeah, I didn’t realize this would end in a cliffhanger). The hero would definitely have to change for me to like him and possibly read the next book.

4 solid stars. Took me a bit to get into but might of just been my frame of mind right now. Was a mostly enjoyable book, will definitely be a top read for those who like the heat turned up. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Full disclosure I had no idea that this was a book one and as I am plowing through the pages I keep thinking there is no way this can come to end with the number of pages I have left. And then things get more complicated and twisted and I know for sure that this will leave me hanging, and it does and I was mad but now I'm over it and I would just like more, please.
This is my first read from this author and she did not disappoint. While I enjoy a full range of books, my favorite are those that are dark and devious but I have only a small handful of authors that do it for me. Bella did it for me. Mila is an orphan who has had to fight her whole life. She has been bounced around, doesn't have many friends and has thickened that outer skin. When she runs an errand with her friend she has no idea what kind of life she is about to discover.
Saint, is the devil dressed in nice clothing. He is cold and calculated. He has a plan and will stop at nothing to complete it. He has a couple of moments where he is almost a human but for the most part, he is a demon and I couldn't get enough. He is also secretive and unfeeling which is where his business relationship with Mila adds a complication for him. Mila is just trying to be strong, just trying to understand but when she is dealing with a brick wall and her trust is already on a tightrope what else is she supposed to do?
This was interesting, while this is a story that has somewhat been done before, there was this uniqueness to it and the twists are fresh and unexpected. There is still a lot of details to flesh out and I cannot wait to get the rest of this story.
There were parts of this I really enjoyed. The writing is good, flows well and the book is well edited. As for dark. Yes, it's dark but the author has no good explanation for why Saint is such a jerk to Mila. She's not complicit in any of the machinations. Of all the people, she's the one that actually had the most to be angry about. She certainly lost the most so a lot of the harshness that Saint unleashes on her is just selfish, mean crap without any sufficient merit to help the reader embrace his darkness. A real conversation with all the cards on the table would have ended the push/pull of the book so I get it but that doesn't mean I like it. It's just overdone and unoriginal.
So, now we have a cliffhanger with Mila finding herself in danger because Saint was an asshole. Despite warnings, he basically set it up so that he would end up with this exact scenario by just cornering Mila and giving her no reason whatsoever to trust him.
As for Mila, this is a "my body betrays me" book so you just have to go with that and then suffer through all the tears that follow, constantly. And of course, Saint drops her into the deep end of discipline (with a belt no less) without any warning or discussion and she just goes with it. Bleh. Sure.
I'm going to read the next book in the duet but this book isn't very original.
Bella J. is an absolutely addictive dark romance Goddess! I have never in my life been so drawn into a story as I have with TROS.
The Rise of Saint is exactly that. Saint is an insanely hot, controlling, greedy man. Determined to get what he wants, to be at the top. Saint won’t allow for anyone stand in his way.
Mila is the lonely girl who’s grown up in and out of homes, never truly knowing love. She’s strong, determined, and does what she can to survive.
When these two meet the sexual tension is immediate. Although there is a hidden agenda that puts Mila’s life into a tailspin.
When plans are put into motion and secrets are revealed, will Saint have everything he has wanted with his rise to the top? Or will this spin out of control, the one thing that Saint lives by.
Bella J is known for her cliffhangers and this is by far the best!
The Rise of Saint is the first book I’ve read by Bella J. I don’t even know where to start, Bella J had me in a trance from beginning to end. Once I started there was no putting this book down. It was dark, twisted, seductive and oh so hot! You really want to hate Saint but just like Mila, you can’t. Readers won’t be able to stop themselves from getting wrapped up in these characters stories and wanting to know what’s to come from each turn of the page. The drama is so intense and I can’t wait for me! I need the sequel, this ending is killing me and I need more. This is def a most read and should be on your top 2020 TBR list.
Whew! The Rise of Saint is Wicked Good! J intoxicates you with Saint and Mila! Instantly you're sucked into Saint's web and your heart is pounding for Mila! I devoured this book in one go, too captivated to put down. It's deliciously dark and sinful, thrilling and flat out tantalizing! You quickly lose your barrings on right and wrong, too mesmerized by the unknown and Saint's devilish ways! J really broke the mold with Saint, He's everything you secretly crave in a male character! I just can't get him out of my head! Mila is the best-kept secret and Saint is the one full of mystery! Neither one is prepared for the other, they're explosive and alluring!
"You look beautiful, Mila." His voice dipped low, a murmur of words that held no meaning. I would rather be called ugly by God that beautiful by the Devil. - Bella J (Saint, Mila)
I loved every page, their every interaction has you hanging on to your seat, biting your lip and squeezing your thighs! Get ready baby, because you're not ready for Saint! As pieces begin to unfold and you just know something is coming, but there's not enough book left for everything to happen! That ending grips you by the Ba//s! The Rise of Saint is book one in Bella J's new Dark Romance series and it's nothing short of incredible! I can't wait for the next book! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Saint is one sexy anti-hero you’ll want to sin with in this dark romance.
Orphaned Mila has been through hell and back in this thing called life, she may come across as being week but I beg to differ she’s one strong woman, then there’s Saint this sexy man all hard around the edges who’s out for revenge, he’s been out looking for what was hidden from him. When this pair meet the sparks fly but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, Saint’s a dark man who snatches Mila up all for himself.
An angst filled, intense read which ends in a cliffhanger and will leave you begging for more, now the wait is on for the next instalment.
What a great read by Bella J.! Once I started I was hooked! Saint was mouthwatering. Dark, ruthless, cunning but you can tell he is hiding a heart inside that fortress of a body. And Mila, so headstrong and unwilling to give in to the demands of everyone around her. I absolutely loved and devoured this book like my next breath and I am HIGHLY INTRIGUED AND DESPERATE to find out what happens in the next installment to this series after that cliffhanger. 5 stars all around!
Bella J where have you been hiding? Saint is just like that seductive monster you have to hide your neck from because he'll take what he wants. I'm sure I'm supposed to not like him but... you know!!!!
From the first page you are weaved into their lives. You become fixated to the point that you don't even realize it. This one is just like a dark piece of chocolate, so awakening to all your senses.
The cliff is a head but please don't let that stop you from taking a walk into the abyss with Mila and Saint. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.
TROS..... The Queen of Cliffhangers has done it again. He bought her, she said he kidnapped her, She witness her seller murder , he was covering all his bases.

The Rise of Saint by Bella J has it all - nerve-wrenching action, heartache, tension, twists and turns, and the off-the-charts hot, sometimes explosive, sometimes tender, sometimes scary sensual moments only Bella J can write with her special flair. The hard part is waiting for book 2 when the book ends in a cliffhanger.
The Rise of Saint by Bella J is fantastical! Amazing! Dark and Sexy! He is a man who knows WHAT he wants and he WILL get it, no matter the consequences. Saint and Mila burn up the pages in this thriller!
