A British bad boy and a runaway princess bride collide for a tempting time…
Being a rock god isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. It’s become a soulless grind. Which is why I’m now on my mate’s houseboat, far away from the spotlight, hoping to find my way back to the music.

Yeah. Not gonna happen.

I’ve just discovered a stowaway on board, and I can’t believe who she is.

So far, Royal Darling is my favorite of this series. A runaway princess bride and a rock star hiding from scandal? You got me!

I wasn't a fan of Jackson at first. I didn't quite get him, but it was fun to see these two different characters start to interact. Then when Emma begs him to teach her guitar, things really click. I'm a sucker for characters bonding over music, and all of a sudden, we get a better glimpse and understanding of Jackson.

I still wish we had more of his POV, but this book,

There's always room on my shelf for Kylie Gilmore. She steals the heart right out of your chest, then gives it back for safe keeping. I've fallen hard for those unpredictable, irresistibly addictive royals. The Rourkes know how to keep it cute, while losing control. Royal Darling gives readers a chance to follow a runaway bride into the arms of her bad boy prince. Emma and Jackson are worlds apart when it comes to life experience, but when it comes to matters of the heart, fate has a few plans ...more

Five Amazing Stars

The Escape

I was absolutely thrilled to now read book three, The Rourkes. Written by the wonderful author, Kylie Gilmore. Now we have finally the first female daughter of the Rourke family from the coastal island of Villeroy. This is another brilliant romantic storyline to just love.

Now we meet Princess Emma Rourke who was vowed to be married to a man at only the younger age of sixteen. This wedding was set out by Royal dominions themselves. Something which she could simply get

This is book three of the Rourke's series. It focuses on the oldest daughter, Emma. This is my FAVORITE so far!
Emma is the perfect princess. She does everything that is expected of her. She's prim, proper and all about protocol. She's been engaged to Prince Abdul since she was 16. She's is now 25 and her wedding day is upon her. However, she's having second thoughts. She feels nothing for him. But she must do what is expected of her and what is best for the kingdom. Or does she? An hour before

Fantastic! This was such a roller-coaster ride of self discovery and personal growth. It was such a pleasure to see the changes for both Emma and Jackson from beginning to end. They were both facing their own personal demons and were doing their best to cope and find a way out. The ending of course was perfect, Kylie really knows how to tie things up just right. The moment you think everything is lost and there is no way things could work out favorably, BAM, she swoops in and makes it all ...more

An emotionally thrilling, action packed so not to be missed opposites collide romance that had me on a wonderfully exciting roller-coaster journey from beginning to end. A heartwarming finding your true-self kinda adventure that had me glued to my e-reader all night long! Love the Rourkes and can not wait for the next one to fall.

Wow!! This book like the previous two (let's be honest anything Kylie Gilmore has written) was fantastic. I didn't think I would connect with Emma. She was stiff, serious, and too regal but after a couple of chapters I was enjoying the book so much through her point of view. Jackson was so easy to like, but it's Emma's character that lights up the book. If you are reading this because you don't know whether to read this book, don't look any further. You won't regret it.

A princess who can’t handle the day to day pressures of royal life. A bad boy rocker who has lost the will to go on and looking for new meaning.

Read on with how these two help each other while finding meaning for themselves.

This new series by Kylie Gilmore is deserving of all the positive hype! From intensely proper royal characters to the brash and bold commoners they fall for you will grow to love the royal Rourkes of Villroy.

Rock and roll guitarist Jackson Walker is still grieving the loss of his bandmate and desperately trying to get his music mojo back while hiding out on a friend's riverboat. The last thing he expects is to find a woman asleep in his bed, and a princess at that. But Jackson isn't in the mood

I just couldn’t put this book down!! And starting the read at night, I went up to 3AM until I finished it. Emma is such a proper princess and when she got cold feet on her arranged wedding day, she run and was totally lost. Jackson was a mutt turned rock star, a rebel, not the preferred son of a single mom, he never even thought about love, romance or a family from his own. Their encounter didn’t bring any sparkle and both were very sure they were from very different universes. But Emma, lost as ...more

Royal Darling is another fun and exciting story, This is book three and just as wonderful as the first two. I absolutely love Kylie Gilmore she has a way with her words that grab you and pull you into her stories and this was no different. It comes a time when the currently reality seems to be too much. You crash mentally and need that escape to find, YOU. That was the Emma and Jackson alike. Two lost souls who had to answer to different "publics" and "standards" one of royalty and one of fans.

The journey was the same but the courses were different as well as enlightened. I enjoyed them together. The exploration and finding of music, love, and themselves. Two halfs to a whole no one understood but Anna apparently. You couldn't

Royal Darling is the perfect name for Princess Emma story in the Rourke series by Kylie Gilmore. Emma is a Royal Darling perfectly molded in the image of her mother and engaged since 16 to a prince from another kingdom to marry after her 25 birthday. On her wedding day she was given the chance to runaway and she stows away on a boat of bad boy rocker Jackson Walker. Emma’s story was my favorite! l loved how Emma is finding her voice and her own personality with the support of Jackson. Family and ...more

Gah, this new series of royals by Kylie is amazing, one better than the next! 5 royal stars for this one!

Meet Princess Emma, engaged since she was sixteen to a prince from another country, an arranged marriage she's agreed to when she turns twenty five. As the wedding is approaching she begins having doubts, with the help of her sister in law the new Queen, she runs away from the palace. After a lifetime of doing her "duty" as a Royal Princess, Emma flees from her Royal arranged wedding, hiding out on a houseboat occupied by none other than British Rock God Jackson.

Jackson is also hiding out, trying to find his way back from the devastating loss of his dear friend and band mate.

An attraction between the two is imminent. Will they allow their feelings to grow? Or will propriety and duty win out?

To be honest, it took be a bit to get into this book. I am not sure why as the writing

I was waiting to read Emma's book and I read this book before the 2nd book.

The book had potential and it was fun too read but I wasn't convinced with the ending.
The climax was too abrupt because it showed that Emma acceptedthat Jackson left her without a good bye and tried to move on with her life and then suddenly he comes back and confesses his love and we have a happy ending. May be if we had his POV about how he struggled and then decided to win her back it would have made more sense.

Prim and proper Princess Emma. Bad boy rocker Jackson Walker. I wasn’t sure how these two could work but they did work. Emma, engaged to marry since she was 16 in an arranged marriage, was always fine with the arrangement. Right up to her wedding day.
Jackson, wanting only privacy after too much bad press of his own making, is trying to get the back. These two see something in the other. What begins innocently enough quickly turns to passion. This book used the f-word liberally which seemed more

Prim and proper Princess Emma does a run away bride act!! This is when she lands on the same boat as lead singer and rock god Jackson from the famous group Ignite!! These two could not be more different but they both have broken hearts!! When they spend time together the music heals their hearts and opens them to the love they have for each other!! With a few obstacles to stumble over, these two learn they can make beautiful music together!! I love this Rourke family and can't wait to absorb the ...more

I love Emma's story. She is the prim and proper princess and when she does something totally unexpected she has to face the consequences. Bad boy rocker Jackson was trying sort out his life after the death of his mate and he was not looking for complications. Emma crashes into his life and both their worlds come alive. This is my favourite book so far from this series. I look forward to the rest of the series.

Didn't see that coming! From the little we knew about Emma, it was an out-of-character vanishing act at the beginning. But when she knew that is was wrong, it was almost too late. In comes the bad boy rockstar trying to lie low to smooth out the bad press. I loved Jackson! It's a favorite of mine, when the bad boy bachelor falls hard and tries to fight it! These royals are so much fun, and I cannot wait for more!

Royal Darling is my favorite so far in The Rourkes Series! Princess Emma is about to walk down the aisle for her arranged marriage when she gets cold feet and runs. She ends up being a stow away on rockstar Jackson Walker's boat. Jackson is going through tough times of his own, so the two end up making a deal letting Emma stay with him. I've been waiting for Emma's story and I loved it. Royal Darling is a perfect addition to Kylie Gilmore's Rourkes series.

Unlike the first two in the series, this was not a Rom-Com...At first it would seem to be the stereotypical "runaway bride virgin princess meets bad boy rock star", but Emma and Jackson have a lot more depth and she truly does have the support of her family. They find each other and love and become stronger and better together. It was not what I expected after the first two books in the series, but I still loved it!

Absolutely loved this book. This is my favourite one so far. The characters are likeable and you can relate to the situations that are depicted in the book. At times it's so funny. It's a good way to spend free time just chilling and losing yourself in a book

Emma & Jackson meet totally by accident and honestly don't really like each other in the beginning. But there is a draw that they both feel and eventually the pull is just too strong.

A great story about self discovery and finding the things and the people that make you your best self.
