Start your review of Minnie and Ginger: A Twentieth Century Romance
Barry Smith illustrates and writes a sweet story of a couple - and their simple life - until World War I begins and the ending happens so fast... I want more "meat" to go with the beautiful pictures. The final pages show them surrounded by their children and grandchildren.
I suggest this book to "kick off" study units on World War I for all age groups. Picture books can be used in ALL grades - and I highly recommend Minnie and Ginger. I have had this book for over twenty years - and I re-read it ...more
