It was "a'igh". The narrative style IS unique in that Chimal tends toward minimalism. He is extremely selective in the information he gives the reader and leaves great amounts of space for the reader to create the world between the lines. Particularly in terms of the imagined space and navigation the various clues needed to re-construct the linearity of time.
It deals with 4 people. One is a female professional, Marlene, who is also a ad-hoc pornographer from her home. She is constantly writing and acting out her fantasies, each with greater levels of torture or humiliation than the past. Her main actor is a mentally abused teenage girl who is also her slave, Yuyis. The second couple is two men Golo and Mundo.
I think I am going to read this book again in a different order. Now that I have gone past the initial read and know what Chimal is trying to get at a second read will be for the pure enjoyment of understanding all the cues.
As far as some of the kick ass narrative tactics... you are going to have to find out for yourself.
