I couldn't find the 6th edition so my review is for that one. I read this book for my Oil, Gas and Energy Accounting class for my Masters program and it was actually REALLY good. It didn't read like a textbook. I honestly felt like I was reading a normal fiction book. It was written really well and explained everything in basic terminology which is great for someone like me. Charlotte Wright should definitely get more credit for this book. Chapters had tons of information. The examples were really detailed and perfect for each scenario that was told. I highly recommend this book if you want a general overview of the oil and gas world.

I'm no accountant, but this book is still giving me a ton of insight into oil & gas exploration and production. Even the numbers are illuminating for someone like me who thrives on examples to put things in perspective; and there are plenty of excellent examples of GL entries that paint a pretty clear picture of how oil & gas exploration companies work. This book isn't nearly as dry as I expected it to be, in fact it's quite readable.
