Pretending to date a movie star definitely wasn’t on Sylvia Urban’s agenda but a girl has to do what a girl has to do. And after a paparazzo catches them in rather uncompromising position, this is exactly what this girl has to do.

Greg Abrams really needs everything to go right if he wants his new project to get green-lighted, but when the cute Broadway geek almost literally falls into his life, things get complicated really fast.

As the pair grows closer, the ‘pretend’ part of pretend dating gets thrown out of the window, but after they started off as a lie, it’s hard to know what’s real and what’s not.

And the clock is ticking.

A prequel to the New York City Fixers romance series and focuses on Greg Abrams and Sylvia Foster.

My Take
This is SUCH a buy! I can't believe Decker get so much story into a mere 88 pages.

This was a very fast and sort of odd read but I did enjoy parts of it. The oddness I think stemmed from the fact that this is a novella so there were broad swathes that had to be swept over, especially the part where our protagonists fall in love.
Sylvia Urban is a Broadway junkie. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't recognize Hollywood actor Greg Abrams even as she's struggling not to puke. Too bad it means that they are caught by an enterprising paparazzo in what appears to be a compromising situation. This could really harm Greg as he signed a contract with a morality clause and one of the producers on his show is really trying to cause him a lot of trouble (would have also been developed better in a longer book.) Luckily, Sylvia's brother runs an agency of fixers and they suggest that the two pretend to be in a relationship.
An interesting start to a series. As with most novellas, probably would have been better if it were longer.

This novella about a movie star fake relationship started out awesomely but gradually lost me. The way Greg and Sylvia met was really cute and the rationale for the fake dating made sense, but at some point I thought it was high time for them to talk about their relationship and what was real and what was not. They don't, and I started getting annoyed with them.

This is the same series as Falling for the Best Man which I read first and I probably would have liked it better if I read these in the right order.

This was a very light sweet read with plenty of spice. Greg and Sylvia were so cute together, I just wasn’t blown away by the story. For some reason, I wasn’t able to connect with the characters no matter how much I liked them. It’s also possible that I may have just missed it, but there’s lots of external tension on Greg that I didn’t find very well explained or dealt with to my satisfaction. Though I think the ending is quite adorable.

This had a good plot and characters. Writing was good. Enjoyed the believability of their fake dating arrangement. I do wish we had gotten more of them actually falling in love with each other? I get it’s a Novella but I would’ve been willing to sacrifice a sex scene if it meant we developed the actual romance not just the sexual chemistry. Overall though a good read and I’ll definitely be checking out the rest of the series.

Cute novella

One of the best novellas I've read in a long time. Not slow burn but no insta love either, just perfect pacing for a story with less than 100 pages. I really enjoyed Greg and Sylvia.

A perfect afternoon read!

This is a quick read, only 97 pages, but well written and quite catchy. There is a hunky Hollywood ⭐️ , paparazzis, almost scandals, fake dating, romance, steamy scenes 🔥 and a happy ending. Everything you could wish for in a lazy afternoon read👌

In the Spotlight

A normal, ordinary girl accidentally meets a famous movie star. The paparazzi catches them together in an alley. Several explicit sexual scenes.

Enjoyable book

Very enjoyable. Love
scenes were not graphic and just enough. Wish other authors did that. The characters were very likable as well.
