S.C. Ellen is from a small city right outside of Detroit, Michigan. She loves all things mafia related and uses her love for old films and even older music to influence everything she writes.

When she’s not writing, she’s either playing with her beloved Yorkie terrier or has her face stuck in a book with a nice glass of wine to accompany it.

Her writing consists of bada** alpha males and headstrong female leads with major plot twists that will leave you in tears, or on the edge of your seat. She believes strongly that the darker the book, the better the read, so warning labels are always advised!

Casi todo el libro estuvo bueno. Me gustó mucho el tema de la mafia, como lo desarrollo la escritora y todas las escenas de acción, sentís que realmente estás leyendo un libro que se centra en ese mundo, pero como todo lo bueno, se acaba muy pronto. La infidelidad le bajó tres estrellitas a este libro. No me gustó que no hubo consecuencias hacia Carson por ser un infiel. Hizo lo que hizo y paso todo ese montón de mierda y Alayna lo perdonó en dos segundos. Carson tenía el potencial, pero demasiado inmaduro e impulsivo, varios comentarios super misoginos y para rematar y confirmar que es un hombre, fue infiel.

En fin, este libro tiene trama y muy buena por así decirlo, pero lo que le faltó fue un buen desarrollo. Demasiadas cosas flojas. De la mitad para allá, se volvió muy flojo, algunas escenas no tenían sentido porque no se desarrollaban bien, me pareció que todo iba muy rápido, pero definitivamente me cayó bien Alayna, al final la rage que tenía se le fue, pero la mayor parte del tiempo me cayó bien, no fue tan inmadura.

No sé si este es el primer libro de la escritora, pero tiene potencial, debe de seguir practicando su escritura y con un poquito más de, ella va a tener buenos libros de romances mafiosos. Este definitivamente, no lo recomendaría a todos, si el prota no hubiese sido un infiel (lo siento, es que odio a los infieles, no los soporto y me caen mal los hombres que tratan mal a las mujeres que "supuestamente", aman), posiblemente lo recomendaría en los grupos. Sé que a varias les gusta el trope o lo soportan, pero a la mayoría que conozco lo detestan. Pero bueno, definitivamente tiene un poco de mano e imaginación, solo necesita más práctica.

Sé que las cosas no tienen que ser perfectas, porque la perfección no existe, si la escritora llega a leer esta reseña, nada es personal, solo son consejos, porque pienso leerme el otro libro que tenés pendiente. 😋
Solo no escribas a hombres infieles porque se te van las lectoras.

❌ heroine-with-om-after-meeting-hero, hero-with-ow-after-meeting-heroine ¡ACLARACIÓN! Carson & Alayna se conocen PERSONALMENTE cuando ella tiene 23 años y él 28 años. Ambos sabían de la existencia del otro, habían oído hablar del otro, ya que el padre de Alayna se hace cargo de Carson a lo largo de los años, pero nunca antes habían coincidido ni se habían visto en persona. Solamente Carson sabe como es físicamente Alayna, por unas fotos que ve por casualidad cuando él tiene 17 años y se queda prendado por su belleza. Pero poco más. (Por calculo, Alayna debe tener 12 años en ese entonces) Alayna, por otro lado, asegura que por curiosidad alguna que otra vez intentó buscar información del famoso Carson, (incluso a los 12 años le escribe una carta buscando respuestas. Una carta que termina rota cuando su hermano la descubre escribiendo a "alguien" y se burla de ella) pero que jamás encontró nada. Ni siquiera cuentas ni fotos en las redes.
❌ ¿h virgen? No. Alayna no es virgen. Antes de estar con Carson solo ha estado con chico, si no me falla la memoria. Un novio que tuvo en el undécimo grado en la escuela católica.
❌ ¿OtraMujer/OW? En el libro se lee alguna que otra escena de Carson con otras mujeres. Sobretodo mientras va creciendo (de adolescente a hombre)
❌ ¿OtroHombre/OM? Alayna es secuestrada y durante varias semanas es drogada, torturada y violada (por un tal Dimitri y algunos de sus hombres) El autor no entra en demasiados detalles. Nunca se leen las violaciones tal cual. Solo el inicio y post violación de alguna que otra. Algunos de estas "sesiones" son grabadas y enviadas a Carson y al padre de Alayna. Cuando sucede esto, ella ya está embarazada de Carson, pero para sobrevivir le asegura a Dimitri que el bebé que espera es suyo. A Dimitri la idea de ser padre, de tener un heredero, parece lo "ablanda" y le emociona. Incluso siente arrepentimiento por lo que él y sus hombres le han hecho a la mujer que supuestamente lleva su hijo dentro.
Pero Alayna sabe que es cuestión de poco tiempo que Dimitri descubra la verdad, que le mintió, ya que ordenó una prueba de ADN. (El médico no podrá hacer la prueba hasta que tenga 8 semanas, y SUPUESTAMENTE ella tiene 4 semanas... Que tiene más en realidad)
Por suerte para Alayna, es rescatada antes de que esto ocurra. Carsón mata a Dimitri y Alayna y los bebés en su vientre (¡son gemelos!) se ponen a salvo.

I just couldn’t get into the book. Didn’t understand why the heroine hated the Hero so much and was so mean to him - that kind of ruined it for me.

This was a tough one to rate, but we're always honest in our reviews. Couldn't rank it a five star. But we couldn't rate it a two star either because this book wasn't a terrible read. We'll begin with the reasons.

1. The pace. This book started out with a lot of action. We're given a strong, emotional opening and all of a sudden the action comes to a screeching halt. It also seemed as if some of the scenes in the book didn't really move the story forward. This is why we just couldn't seem to really get into this book and stay there. Until well past the half-way point, the story was predictable. The H saves the h from a bad guy. H and h fight their attraction to each other. Wash, rinse, repeat until the story finally began to propel forward.

2. Couldn't connect with the characters. We really, really tried to care about the H and h but despite the effort, it just didn't happen. Maybe it was due to the ruthlessness that comes with a mafia setting. Mafia romance isn't something that we normally read, so maybe it's all on us.




3. It wasn't clear why the h despised the H early in the story. h even admitted that H was a mystery to her...therefore, how could she instantly decide that she hated him? There was really no reason for h to keep fighting her attraction to H. It's almost as if this was built into the story line solely to build tension, but the angst/resistance just fell flat for us.

The reasons we couldn't give the book a two star:

1. The book was well written. Pushing aside the slow pace, H did go through a bit of a change...this is character development. Good job.

2. The cover art was great. The graphics on the inner matter of the book were good too. There were no grammar/editing issues. The writing wasn't juvenile. (many new authors often struggle with this.) It was apparent this author put time, money and pride into producing a good product for her readers. Good job and thank you, S.C. Ellen.

3. Good plotting.

4. We got a sweet happy ever after ending.



S.C. Ellen has talent, but we most likely wouldn't chose another mafia romance.

I really enjoyed this story! I’m liking mafia stories more and more, this one was pretty unique and I really enjoyed reading. The characters had a ton of personality and I love how it all came together in the end, I was pulling my hair out during that one scene! I had never read this author and I would love to read her again!

This story sucked me in from the start and I read it in one sitting. Can’t believe this is a debut story.

This is Alayna and Carson’s story. It has a good storyline with plenty of twists.

I certainly recommend this story as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So looking forward to seeing what comes next for this author.

the beginning was incredible, I liked the good development of the character and his story. I really enjoyed 35 chapters but then... destruction.

How could she have forgiven the jerk so quickly? he literally cheated on her, he had her pipi inside that bitch's vagigi. Then he says terrible things to her, she runs away, obviously. but then she forgives everything and thanks him. what???
He deserved to crawl out of mercy and forgiveness.

I only give it three stars for the start.

I love a good mafia book and this one is no exception. Yes it does move quite slowly but boy does it build up to a final crescendo that had me picking up my jaw from the floor.

Story centres round Alayna who's grown up being the daughter of Michigan mafia boss Vinny. She's his princess and treated as so also, but that doesn't mean she's not independent, strong and tough. But when her father's empire is threatened he has one thing on his mind and that to protect his daughter with a full-time bodyguard.

Carson has a past himself he lost everything when he was so young. He then gets brought up by Vinny, taken under his wing to become he's second hand man in New York. So when Alayna needs protection, Carson is the first and only man Vinny trusts for the job of her bodyguard.

They have one rule and that's not get involved with each other!!!!! Well we all know that's not gonna happen lol. The chemistry between these two is electric, the sex is off the scale hot!!! The twist and turns in this book made my head spin, the book doesn't hold back on the brutal violence expect blood and plenty of it. Secrets will come out in the end I honestly never saw them coming!!!!

All in all an amazing book this is my first by S.C.Ellen and I'm definitely gonna be looking up more about this author. I'm just hoping there will be another book to carry on from this one!!!!

My rating: 3 stars

What I liked: I really liked Alayna’s(h) brother and I am so happy he gets the life he wants with his woman. I liked the ow drama especially when Alayna walks in on Carson(H) and he pushes the ow off of him and tells her to get lost. I’m also glad that him and his sister reunite.

What I didn’t like: This was going good up until the end. When Carson gets caught with ow and tells Alayna that she meant nothing this is where it lost me. So poor Alayna runs (even though she knows people are trying to get her), gets kidnapped and tortured. When she is finally rescued all Carson has to say is sorry and all is forgiven and she acts like nothing. This heroine should be messed up mentally after everything she is put through plus seeing her dad die but all is well. Yeah no, I’m not buying it. Also, earlier in the book Alayna is almost kidnapped and her dad or her mom didn’t even rush over to see her (this just doesn’t make sense). Also, Alayna acts surprised she is pregnant even though in the chapter before she mentions how she hasn’t renewed her bc (almost like the author forgot she wrote that).

***Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: OW drama, sexual assault and abuse, death of a side character. H’s mother and father are killed. His father was the head of the mafia and was betrayed by his brother. H and his baby sister are saved. H and his sister are separated and the H goes with a guy/h’s father, who is also the head of the mafia and he puts the H into a private school. h’s dad goes and visits the H often since the H never wants to meet the family because he doesn’t want to be a bother. When the H is old enough he joins the mafia. And when the h’s father needs help the H goes. H is asked to watch over the h because her father is concerned for her safety. The h is not happy. Later, after she is drugged she realizes that it’s a good idea that the H is staying with her. When someone tries kidnapping her she moves in with the H. H has had sex with ow that makes it know she doesn’t like the h. H and h start a relationship in secret because the dad told him that his daughter was not to be touch. When H is hurt they realize that there is a rat among them. When the father thanks the H for taking care of his daughter and not touching her, the H feels guilt and tells the h that they must stop. h finds out she is pregnant. When she goes go to tell the H she finds him in bed with the ow having sex. H pushes the ow off of him when he sees the pregnancy test. H tells h that she means nothing to him and the h runs away upset. h gets kidnapped, which she is abused and raped. When she tells the bad guy she is pregnant, he stops the abuse. h finds out that the ow was the rat along with one of her father’s men. H and her family finally get to her after a month or so goes by. All hell breaks loose, H is forced to fight and “kill” h’s brother and h’s father is killed by the h’s uncle. h gets shot. H finds out that the h is having twins. H stays with her at the hospital and all is forgiven(insert eye roll). Later, we find out that h’s brother is still alive and that h’s friend/brother’s girlfriend is the H’s sister. HEA

Final thoughts: This is my first book from this author and it was just an ok read for me. I might read the next one especially if it’s about the brother.

Pasaron tantas cosas en este libro que no se por donde empezar, La manera de narrar de la autora me fascino con sus palabras logro transmitir muy bien los sentimientos de los personajes cosa que sirvió para comprender mucho mejor sus comportamientos.

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 (mi nuevo ser amado y protegido) : Me hizo llorar desde que comenzó el libro con su historia de vida, era solo un niño cuando todo lo que tenía le fue arrebatado cruelmente, vió cosas que un niño no debería de ver y con las pocas fuerzas que tenía pudo salvar a su hermanita.
Su vida fue difícil y se todo afecto y se ve reflejado en su personalidad, se aisló de la vida porque vió morir y tuvo que separarse de las mujeres que amaba y el cree que si deja entrar a alguien a su vida eso traera solo la desgracia y muerte. No deja que lo amen porque no cree merecerlo.

𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐧𝐚: Me encanto, su personalidad hace que la ames desde en el que la conoces. Ella era la mujer indicada para el, lo entendió desde el primer momento y no juzgo sus sentimientos ni actitudes nunca se rindió con el y finalmente pudo romper ese cascarón que tenía. Gracias a ella pudimos conocer un poco mas de su vida y fue algo que el quiso compartir con ella y fue hermoso ver el pequeño cambio en el.

𝐒𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨́𝐧 ❤️: La atracción de la pareja era muy intensa y se sintió desde el primer momento en que se vieron, el echo de que ya supieran ambos de su existencia pero que nunca se hayas visto en persona sumo puntos a la historia. Y el que su relación este prohibida hacía todo mucho mas emocionante y definitivamente lo prohibido siempre es mas exitante. Tuvieron su drama y me hicieron sufrír un montón pero también llore de felicidad.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚 📖:Hace mucho no leía un libro con tanta acción y mundo de la mafia involucrada y estuvo en todo momento queriendo saber lo que sucedería a continuación, hubo traiciones que no las esperabas yo estaba llegando al final y siempre había algo nuevo que te deja boquiabierta. Fue emocionante y también hubo perdidas que me dejaron muy angustiada.

Carson y Alayna sufrieron mucho 💔, la vida fue cruel con el de niño pero a ella le toco sufrir de grande y demuestra que por mas protegido que estes en la vida lo malo siempre llega.

Carson cuando quiso alejar a Alayna fue muy cruel y le tengo poquito rencor, no lo culpó por lo que pasó fue horrible pero "sirvió" para que el realmente pueda abrír los ojos y ver el mundo con otra mirada.

LE LLORE DE PRINCIPIO A FIN y lo voy a recomendar porque es necesario que lean esta historia y tenga reconocimiento.

Alayna is the daughter of the Michigan mafia boss, so she’s the princess everyone respects, not for her status but for her own work, she’s strong and is independent and is getting something in life for herself, so when her father’s empire is threaten, she doesn’t take too well to have a bodyguard full time.

Carson’s past is tragic, he lost everything he cared about, and was taken in by a man who had the power to make Carson the most dangerous man and his second hand as an Underboss in New York. When Vin gets a threat, he doesn’t take it lightly, so he has to take every precaution with her most precious person, his daughter Alayna, and there’s only one man he trust to protect Alayna from every enemy and that’s Carson.

The only rule they can’t break is getting involve with each other, but that is kind of problematic when all that Carson found good in this world after everything was taken away from him is Alayna, his angel, when he found that picture in Vin´s wallet after all those visits he got, he refused to go back with Vin and being a burden so he only took that precious picture, of the girl that was pure and all good so he could fight all the bad he had inside.

This is my first book by S.C. Ellen, and I am happily impressed, I know this is her first mafia romance book and it was really good, and the story has so many tangents that get closure at the end so we have no lose ends and I love that in a book, so it is obvious that I will be reading more of her.

I really did enjoy this story which took off from the jump, so I was preparing myself for a heart racing good time. Now, I did get that for the most part, but see, it was weird for me when it slowed way down for a length of time before taking back off again. Alayna is a mafia princess who is strong in her own right, so she's not laying down for anything, and I fell for her hard. Then there's Carson, a man she hates (I'm still unclear why though) so she's not about to make his life easy, as he's her father's second tasked with keeping her safe. Little did either of them know that the chemistry they had in spades wouldn't be denied for long, and you already know this isn't going to go over with her father very well, so I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the moment they were caught. There are some very intense twists & turns which had me dropping the f-bombs as I didn't see them coming, but it's my happy place so I didn't care that I didn't know until I knew. Anyway, I'm very interested in reading more books by this talented author, and you'll feel the same way once you hit the one click buttons, but remember, the author gave a warning so heed it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I thought this was going to be another usual, ordinary mafia book but things turn dark after Alayna got kidnapped by the Russians. I enjoyed the story and I liked the pull and push between her and Carson though I think Carson was way too horrible with his words and actions towards Alayna.

If I were Alayna, I don’t think I could ever forgive and be with someone who killed my own brother brutally and not to mention, in front of her own eyes! I know I know they did it for her safety but still. And I know later on we found out that Jase was alive but she didn’t know that so yeah, if she was me, I don’t think I can even look at Carson in the eyes. Let alone professing my love for the said guy right after that.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to Maksim’s story next!

Carson and Alayna are explosive together, I think. I mean, nothing goes boom, but they are just wow. They are just so hot. They are both strong, stubborn, and loyal to their family and the people whom they love.

I think that Alayna is a mix of naive and worldly because she knows what her family is into, but is isolated from it, so she is just separate from it. I really like her and her smarts and how sharp she is.

Then we have Carson, who isn't quite the monster that he thinks he is. He doesn't want to see past that part of himself, and I can understand why he does that. But, I think that he has a really excellent heart and is very loyal.

Irrevocably Shattered drew me in, and I could not put this book down!!! Not for anything… I think you'll be in deep trouble if you do not clear your schedule of anything else!

It is not often when I say I'll read this book again; but, this is one of those times!!!

I cannot wait to check out more books by this new to me author!

Alayna is a mafia princess and when danger comes knocking, Carson who is the 2nd in command is tasked with protecting her. This is a well written tale which is a unique mafia story, and is filled with drama, danger, twists, and is a steamy read. I was hooked and intrigued throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

This book had so many plot twists, I couldn’t stop reading for even a second.

Omg the feels!!!!!!!! Finally a heroine with a freakin backbone!!! Most mafia romances I read the girls are always so submissive and just accept their fate, but nope not Alayna! Alayna and Carsons story is definitely addicting and I love a good forbidden romance. This did not disappoint.

These two characters together are explosive, and their love/hate relationship will keep you turning the pages. Decided to pick up this authors book on a whim and I was definitely not disappointed.

Carson is raw. He is tainted. He is broken...but walk the path with him and you will see him evolve.

Entrusted with looking after his adopted fathers biological daughter, I’m sure he never could imagine that he would fall for her.

They made a good couple.
