I have read and enjoyed a number of Mr. Allan's books and each book takes on a little different focus. When I connect them all together, it builds a comprehensive plan for bringing change into my life.
I love the strategies and formulas he presents to help break old mindsets and self-imposed unrealistic standards of expectation. I try to keep them consistently swirling around in my consciousness so that I can be aware of opportunities to use them and by using them frequently I believe I will succeed at changing my self-defeating behaviors. This book is clearly organized and gets right to the point.
If you are someone who reacts strongly to rejection, this book is sure to change that as you gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms triggering you and learn better coping tools. Scott B Allan leads from the front with lessons learned the hard way as he reshaped his own life into an empowered one, and he shares great insights that will help you achieve that in your own life. "You can choose to engage in empowering thoughts and behaviors that serve you best. You can rise above the barriers of personal self-defeat and tap into that inner strength that you know is there." I am now officially a Scott B Allan fan, and can highly recommend this book! Although it can be read in two or three hours, this is the kind of book you want to work through in baby steps, keeping your copy handy - underscoring and making notes as you work through it. The worksheets and action guide are excellent resources for achieving a reset of your life.
This book offers considered strategies to enable the management of 'rejection.' At times, it flips too far into 'believe and achieve' self help. But it does assist individuals in rethinking the challenges that emerge in life.
What it lacks is considered attention to the rationale and meaning of rejection, particularly in tough times. The environment - whether it be the workplace or personal relationships - is configured as neutral, ethical and logical.
Needless to say, that 'reality' is not real or true. So if readers want an understanding of nepotism, jealousy or bullying - then this is not the book.
This is about an individual managing a difficult situation, rather than understanding why the difficult situation emerged.
Rejection Reset is a powerful book full of actionable information. I especially liked the discussion on how we handle "the gap" - the period of time between when something triggers us in a potentially negative way and how we react -it is up to us to chose our reaction wisely. This book goes beyond how best to deal with rejection and into how to improve our overall well being. Great read!
This is a powerful book! I was drawn to it by my inner urge to change something in my life. I am so happy that the advice in this wonderful book resonated with me on so many levels. I found myself being more and more positive in my thoughts with each day. The conversation you have with yourself can truly make you or break you. Thank you!!!
Read this book through in 3 days and it has helped me so much. I didn’t realize how much negative thinking went on in my head. I am now more aware of what I need to do in order to stay in a winning attitude. I loved this book!
