I am an Iazetti. She is a Hawthorne. Oil and water – we were never meant to mix. Her father despises me...all that I am and the darkness I represent. But his empty threats and harsh glares don’t scare me. He will never keep me away from his daughter. I need her like I need air to breathe. Charlotte Hawthorne is my everything. She’s the only one who can keep me from turning into the monster that lurks down deep. I hate that monster as much as her father hates me. And even though I want Char, I know I can’t have her. I’m too damaged, too tainted With way too much blood on my hands. Then one night, she tells me she loves me And in the next breath says goodbye, unleashing the monster I truly am. The prick with nothing to lose.
Author note: This is the prequel novella to The Ridgeview Prep Series, A Dark High School Bully Romance Duet that will leave you on the edge of your seat and gasping for air. Tread lightly. These books are not for the faint of heart and are not meant for readers under the age of 18. You have been warned.
Londyn Quinn, shoe whore, beauty guru, and wine connoisseur, prides herself on the twisted, dark, and devious mind she hides so well behind her façade of flawless foundation and thick lush lashes. Sometimes, beauty really is only skin deep. Beneath all of the glitz and glam, she loves to concoct dirty and devilish stories about bad boys and the snarky, sharp-tongued girls they love to hate…and hate to love.
”You were everything to me. Now you’re nothing. We are nothing.”
Prick is the prequel novella to the Ridgeview Prep series by new to me author Londyn Quinn.
Xander Iaxetti feels that he is never good enough. For his older brother, for his family name and for his best friend that he secretly loves,Charlotte Hawthorne.
He’s straddling the edge between dark and light, heaven and hell but when he gets some news he’s not expecting he moves over to the dark side and I am here for it.
This was only 5 chapters but so much happened and I already love Xander so much. I can’t wait to read Puppet. Londyn Quinn has me hooked.
Dark highschool bully romance with a trigger for torture
OMG, what did I just read? I can't believe this is a debut novella. The writing is fantastic and one of my favorite genres right now. I can't wait to see how this series plays out. I've already got the next book pre-ordered.
Fantastic start to a new series! All the delicious angst of a high school bully romance and addictive storyline that makes me want more! So excited for Puppet, first full-length book in the series.
GAH! Londyn Quinn’s debut mini novella, Prick, is one wild ride! A hero who’s stuck in the dark, and a heroine who’s his light—together they are a storm of souls. This tale has the darkness and edge of a mafia romance and angst that’s all YA. A deliciously dark, thrillingly twisted, and heart-racing roller coaster of a romance that left me aching for more. I can’t wait to get lost in what Quinn writes next!
I met this new author through social media not too long ago and she was so sweet I decided to pick up her debut and give it a try, because fuck it, why the hell not?! Holy hell! This little book is a prequel - I was shocked!!!!!! I have to say that I am over the moon excited to see where this series goes! The writing was so captivating and Xander (the MM) is totally turning into the dark twisted asshole I want him to be! If you're looking for a new author to read - pick this one up. I really think you won't be sorry!!
I get so excited to find new-to-me Authors that hook me right away and have me searching to sign up for the next release as soon as I closed this one. Come to find out, the Author is new to me, because she is brand new!! This novella sets the stage for what happens to change the relationship between the couple, who for all intensive purposes are the best of friends who imagine what it would be like to be more, but are too young and scared to find out. Before they can really find out, both of their worlds instantly transform and I was left with my jaw on the floor and my heart in my throat. It truly made an impression for the story that's to come!!
Prick is a prequel to what is coming in The Ridgeview Prep Series. This is the authors debut and if this is a sign of what’s to come I’m so looking forward to reading more as this was a brilliant read. We are introduced to the main characters Xander and Charlotte who I really like. So looking forward to reading Puppet.
This was a quick prequel for a book that releases tomorrow that I've seen raved about on social media. The H has mafia-type connections and the h is the rich girl that is under her parents thumb. These two have been best friends forever, and now her family is ripping them apart.
I'm intrigued and will be reading the book when it goes live.
Wonderfully fantastic... The book was amazing... It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it... The characters and their personalities match them perfectly... The plot and the storyline was very descriptive and amazing... "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
While the writing was fine, this isn't a dark high school bully romance. Unlike the description, it didn't leave me on the edge of my seat, I wasn't gasping for air and nor did I have to tread lightly. I get it was a novella to a duet, but there was certainly a bit of creative license in using this to try to entice me into the series. Charlotte finds out from her crazy wealthy and privileged parents that she's being shipped off to an elite boarding school in London the next day, mainly to get her away from Xander, the boy from dirty money that she's been best friends with for years.
There's a lot of the normal teenage angst here. Charlotte hates her life, her parents force her to live a pampered lifestyle she hates, they're cold and try to make her fit into the mould they want in the shadow of her dead, over-achieving old brother. Xander is the only good thing in her life and they have a rosy friendship until she tells him she's being shipped out. Upon hearing this, he goes off his chops at her, says mean things even when she tells him she loves him, and storms off.
As for Xander, he's into some shady stuff because his family's in the 'business' and he's dragged around by one his brothers who's crazy and desperate to prove himself.
So, basically it was two good friends who are actually in love having a big fight, one having a tantrum and leaving and then a bit of a cliffhanger. She's sweet and he turns mean, etc. I'm glad I got it for free as it's not my thing, but I'm sure the angst and frequently done before plot will tick the box for other readers. I would have given it an extra star if the title at least came closer to the teaser provided.
Prick is a prequel in preparation for the upcoming first full-length book, Puppet by author Londyn Quinn. This novelette is the back story of the characters Xander and Charlotte.
It's challenging to review a snapshot story which this is -- I estimate that the prequel might cover all of three or so hours of story events and it is easy to find issues when the characters have no time to develop. I was WTFing Xander and then talked myself off the ledge because I was judging him after reading no more than maybe twenty pages of his pre-story.
Safe to say that this is something that fans of Amo Jones' Elite Kings, Tijan's Carter Reed, or Shantel Tessier's Dare series might want to check out. Prick is short, don't expect more than a nibble--the meal will be the next book, Puppet.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
This is the prequel to Puppet where it all gets started between Charlotte and Xander and the secrets that go hand and hand of being a Hawthorne and a Lazetti that the offspring must suffer from the sins of the father's. These 2 grew up together and became best friend's until 1 day when Charlotte was 16 her parent's tell her she's going to school in London all she can think is how do I tell Xander she's leaving. Well Xander takes it the wrong way that she's deserting him and they both say some thing's that they can't take back. Will she see him again and be able to patch things up? This book pulled me in from the start and I didn't want to stop reading it. I needed more of Xander and Charlotte which you get in book 1 Puppet.
This is my first time reading anything from this author, and I was not disappointed, this was an entertaining read, well written, and kept me engaged, and I can't wait to read more from this author. This is the prequel to the Ridgeview Prep series, and the story of Xander, and Charlotte. When Charlotte leaves Xander behind, to go away to school, he can no longer hold in his inner demons. This was a short read, dark, emotional, intense, twisted, and dramatic. I can't wait to read the next book.
Okay, another new author for me! ❤️ And even this is short like 5 chapters, I consider this book as a good start of the series. I like the writing style, the story line and of course I have high expectations for the main characters development in book 1 (Puppet) 🌟
I'm so excited to see how the events will turns out , how the romance between Xander and Charlotte👫♥️ will Bloom to something more.
This was a quick and fast fun read. Its considered the Prequel - and while it may only be 5 or so chapters… what a amazing 5 chapters it was. This book is about Xander and Charlotte.. two of the best of friends but are from completely different worlds.. and both want more but know its not possible.. I devoured this little book and it left me wanting and needing more.. I cant wait to see where this author (who is brand new to me) takes this story..
Prick was a short quick read. It's a prequel to the Ridgeview Prep series. It really got me excited to read the Ridgeview Prep series. We about who Xander and Charlotte are and some things that are happens in their lives. In this one, I feel like we get a go view at Xander and Charlotte and I totally love then. Things didn't end well in this story for either Xander or Charlotte. I'm totally hooked and can't wait for Puppet, Ridgeview Prep Book One.
This! This book! This book is NOT long enough! I started reading and could not stop. I need the next book in my hands ASAP! Two friends, from two different worlds, trying to escape the same problem, but handled different ways. This series is off to such an amazing start! I can't wait for the next one!
Awesome intro to this series. Great writing and flow. A definite page turner that made me want more. Can't wait to read the rest of this series and learn more about these characters. I have a feeling this author is gonna do great things and I can't wait!
An unprepossessing name for a book about young love. A gal with a pedigree and a boyfriend with a disreputable background. Both are captive to their family’s background. This is a teaser novelette for a series to follow. It ends rather abruptly without any resolution. For a high school confidential this is rather gritty subject matter.
Well this prequel has really set the scene for Puppet.
Charlotte seems too nice, so I’m hoping she will become more of a ‘don’t mess with me’ kinda girl. Xander is my kind of guy; he tried to hide his demons, but they were eventually going to break loose. By the end of this book, they really did!
First book to be read by Londyn Quinn. First i would've given it 4 stars if it was a full length novel. As of right now I would not consider it to be a bully romance. More of Forbidden Old money and mobster kind of story. I do like the cliffhanger because I know Xander is going to the dark side. Lets see what happens next
Please, Please!!! For God’s sake stop publishing incomplete series. It is so frustrating. I can’t read the first book and wait for 2 months for the others. Pls take into consideration that it kills all the joy! Thank you
This is a very good story for debut. The series received a perfect foundation on which can build. But I think this could still be more. I want more feelings, despair, and desire. I would have loved to read more reference. I can't wait to read the next!
OMG...this book. It is an absolutely fantastic introduction into what I can already determine is going to be an epic series. I am so excited to see what happens to Charlotte and Zander, and where their story goes.
