Joe Hill is fantastic. I am SO intrigued by this series so far! Great art, interesting characters, and excellent writing. I can't wait for the next one! Next to Basket Full of Heads, this might be my favourite of the Hill House comics (although, they are so different, it's really hard to compare!). ...more

I got a digital preview copy from Edelweiss, and it’s super gross but excellently written classic horror. Great visuals, perfect realistic art to accompany a fast moving story reminiscent of a really good, consuming action/horror film, maybe Alien(ish). But still a great original plot and enough intrigue to make me glad that it’s a #1.

Man Joe Hill has another one on his hands. Everything about this first issue was amazing. From the really well done art, the characters down to the set up as far as what the characters will be doing. 1 issue in and I’m already hooked.

A creepy comic collection by horror writer Joe Hill, known for the Locke & Key comic series and numerous novels, including Heart Shaped Box and Horns. Plunge has Lovecraftian elements reminiscent of At the Mountains if Madness, but modernizes the story by featuring a strong female hero. Parasitic worms, zombies, and apocalyptic alien invasion are more than Moriah, a marine biologist, and Captain Carpenter and his crew expected to deal with when hired to salvage a sunken ship. A ship sends out a distress signal. It has vanished without trace 40 years ago.
What will lurk inside it? What will the crew find in the deep waters?
For me, this is the stuff of nightmares. I couldn't put it down!
I love the artstyle, I love Joe Hill's writing. This is a great start to a story and I can't wait to see where they would take it.

I like Hill as an author and was excited to see what he would do in comic form so I picked this up.

The first issue was more table setting, that I feel I need to finish it in order to fully understand what's happening.

That being said, I found the characters, plot intriguing.

A solid start but will reserve opinion till i read the full run. Hill's been pretty good generally in previous works but hated the firefighter and the full throttle set of novellas did not quite hit the spot. Mid field 3 stars for this one. definitely enough in there to pick up the next issue. ...more

I’m so excited to find this comic! Joe Hill never disappoints! I’m praying my local comic book store carries the new issues, and that I practice some self control in there....so many good things to buy!

His other novels include NOS4A2, and his #1 New York Times Best-Seller, The Fireman... which was also the winner of a 2016 Goodreads Choice Award for Best Horror Novel.

He writes short stories too. Some of them were gathered together in
