A Dark Paranormal Romance

He was taught to hate them. He trained to hunt them. Now one of them has claimed him.

A Joyfully Jay review.

This book opens with a fast pace as Obe is hunting Frankie and the two of them get trapped. In order to tap into Frankie’s strength and have it transfer to Obe to save their lives, Frankie explains the options are to turn Obe into a vampire or “fuck.” And since Obe is certainly not going to allow himself to be turned into a vampire, he gives up his virginity in order to save his life. The sex with these guys starts fast and furious, but it all came off as mechanical

Even though this book had an underlying dark theme to it, It was very humorous, romantic, thought provoking and entertaining. Obie the vampire hunter grew up in the "Order" believing vampires are all evil until he met the very charismatic vampire Frankie. There first meeting was hilarious and I just loved their banter with each other. After they shared blood and was intimate they had a bond. Their relationship wasn't considered all that serious in the beginning but the more they were around each ...more

Finally.....something I enjoyed. It made me laugh, horny, curious and engaged throughtout the entire book.
I loved that Snod's character wasn' minute "I hate vampires" to "I'm sleeping with one & I love it." I like that he struggled with his situation and actually felt guilt in both regard, concerning Frankie and The Order.
Also didn't expect to enjoy Athaliah's presence as much as I did......I loved him. Another thing I enjoyed were the moments between Snod & Lorenzo, those

Loved it!

I love vampire books. This one is definitely a favourite. I wasn’t expecting the snarky humour at all. Funny, sexy, a bit of angst to round it out. Their chemistry is hot! Never feeling gratuitous it is an exploration and discovery of sexuality, learning that love is not a sin. Thoroughly enjoyed and Rees is one of my fave secondary characters ever!! So funny

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. I could not put the book down, from start to finish you just could not get enough, it left you wanting more. Twists and turns with emotions that makes you want more. The chemistry between them is intense hot and steamy.

Interesting premise

I have to wonder what Frankie saw in Obe, in the beginning, that led him to giving the hunter a second chance. That was never really clear, in my mind, but it was beautiful that he did, and that Obe took advantage.

K.L. Hiers has quickly become a one-click author for me with Mortal Sins. (Was so happy for a sophomore release after Cold Hard Cash.) Firstly, although the title states that it's a dark romance, I truly felt like it more of an action-filled Rom-Com. This is probably the best vampire MM romance I've read that's reminiscent of the old (pre-twilight) bodice-ripping, angsty, passion-filled MF romances.
It had everything from enemies to lovers, first-time gay, heat, action, tear-jerker

This was a unique paranormal experience, I loved the enemy to lover with a religious taboo element. It was hot and had a good flow.

I really loved this book. Obe and Frankie are great together and I loved watching them grow together as a couple and Obe's battle to overcome the teachings of his childhood. The supporting characters were hilarious.
