First, a disclaimer. I don’t normally read these sorts of books, I watch them as movies. You know the kind, Jason Bourne, Mission Impossible, Jack Reacher sort of thing where a tough trained ex military dude sets off to solve an international mystery involving high octane action, chases, treasures, evil doers with accents and femme fatales. And yet, this one grabbed me with its premise…I’ve long been fascinated by the Nazi gold train story. The train bearing looted treasures untold that mysterio ...more

Super-hero-without-a-cape Will Stattin to the rescue! A thoroughly enjoyable bit of escapism that would leave Indiana Jones totally jealous. Finding a lost train and its artifacts is the purported goal, but entertaining the reader is the real outcome. I received an advanced digital copy from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The Lost Train is the first book in the Will Stattin Thriller Series.

This is a fast-paced action-packed story with twists and turns, danger, suspense, and intrigue. The character of Will Stattin is adventurous and realistic and the storyline is well written and kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

I loved this thriller and cannot wait for the next one in the series.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

The rumors of a train laden with gold hidden somewhere in the aftermath of World War II provides the backdrop for Crossman’s gripping, heart-pumping action thriller.

Will Stattin, a former MP and the son of a famous archaeologist, is recruited by a prestigious art collector in Italy to track down a series of nine paintings that reveal the location of the lost train and its legendary wealth. But the hunt for the lost train soon becomes a deadly game, forcing Will to elude various teams of killers

The Lost Train – Seth Crossman (Will Stattin Thriller Series)

I was provided with an advanced copy of this book by the publisher in order to give an honest review.

“The Lost Train” is Seth Crossman’s debut novel.

This book is the first thriller in a series which has a lot of historical fiction elements. It is a story that follows an American man, Will Stattin, who has recently been dishonourably discharged from the army.

Sadly, like many veterans, he is struggling to find work and his place with eve

I was expecting more Dan Brown with Puzzles and giving chase such as in the Divinci Code but instead, Seth Crossman's book reads more like the Jason Borne Series by Robert Ludlum. Don't get me wrong it was, is, still a great book. We have all had a love of WWII books now for a while but they are mostly targeted towards women. People are also drawn to a hunt, treasure maps, quests. This has Will in the present-day sent to Europe to find the paintings and other treasures on the infamous Nazi train ...more

The Lost Train is part of Seth Crossman’s series, A Will Stattin Thriller. Readers can be expected to go on a thrilling ride with this one. I could not put it down. It was full of action, suspense, and danger, with quite a bit of twists and turns that I did not see coming. Will Stattin is a strong and intriguing character.

I am giving The Lost Train five plus stars. I would love to find out what happens next from A Will Stattin Thriller series. I highly recommend this one.

That synopsis completely drew me in. I knew I wanted to read this novel and had high hopes for the story and writing.

The premise is unique, which made me excited to read it just from the synopsis. This is one of those stories that will start off with a bang and not let up until the very last page.

The plot was very well paced and while some parts were easy to predict, there were also plenty of surprises along the way and ultimately it led to a great read overall.

A story that flowed and the characters brought to life by the way the author depicted them.
Will Stattin is such a great lead character to lead this story. I will definitely look forward to reading more about him later.
This was a good story well written and thoroughly enjoyable.
I will certainly look out for more of this authors work in general, but can’t wait to read more about Will.
Give this book a read, it’s worth a look at this series. This is a must-read for thriller fans.

I enjoyed the writing style and the pacing. There were parts that moved very fast and then other parts that slowed down, just enough to let us catch our breaths.

The setting was very clear and I liked that the Crossman team was able to transport us to where the characters were experiencing the story. They have really created an imaginative Thriller that has plenty of twists and surprises.

The Lost Train is a very cohesive Thriller. There is a great balance between the characters, their life, and the suspense/thriller aspect. The themes and setting really helped set this book apart from others.

The plot was fast paced and flowed smoothly and the characters were those who I really liked reading about. They were interesting and compelling.

This is just the first in the new Will Stattin Thriller Series by Seth Crossman, and I am excited to read more!

I started the book this morning and could not put it down. A great treasure hunt over lost property of art and other valuable goods stolen from the Jewish people by the Germans in WW2 hidden away on the Lost Train. A great read! Lots of twists and turns.

A thoroughly enjoyable read with twists and turns at every juncture. This book reminded me how much I love historical fiction and the ability to get lost in a story. Will Stattin as tenacious as he is likable. I look forward to more of his adventures.

James Bond it’s not.

Interesting idea but not believable. References to Will’s attraction to Giovanna were an amateur distraction that took away from the story, which sometimes appeared somewhat like an Ian Fleming “wannabe.” The writing was interesting enough to keep me reading but the tying of the loose ends together at the end seemed to be contrived — there was no indication earlier of this intrigue, apart from knowing that Giovanna was Jewish.
