We, humans, tend to run away from ourselves, we desire to escape the confrontation with our inner being, we let our incapability to be friends with self overpower us.

Happy to meet me is a journal. It’s made to provide an endless life of self-exploration. Its goal is to make the writer feel a shift in their thoughts, feelings and consciousness. It contains deliberately placed prompts to stimulate deep insights and asks you to spend 5 minutes a day to achieve such results.

Disclaimer: I received a free ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Overall opinion: A healing and fulfilling path to self-discovery is what Calista McBride's guided journal offers to readers. Especially helpful if you have a history of trauma or anxiety.

Flawed, But Could Be Helpful
This is meant to be a book of writing prompts for self-discovery. The author seems a little confused about this, as what is stated on the cover differs from what is written on the first page of the book. On the cover, she states it can inspire your creative muse while on the inside it seems to be more about self-discovery. And indeed, the latter is true. I don't see where this could inspire a creative muse in anybody, unless, perhaps, that you are writing your autobio ...more

General info
The concept of this book is to help you grow your self-awareness and you self love. There’s different sections and you can make notes in the book.
Things I like
As a specialist in sport psychology, I know a lot about psychology in general. The has a lot of great tools for anyone who wants to love themselves better. It’s also great that you can make notes and write down your thoughts. Of course, I haven’t gone through the whole book yet. I believe the whole point of the book is to us ...more

I have been using Calista McBride’s “Happy to Meet Me” Journal every morning or evening for about 30 days now and I have to say I am completely sure it is a wonderful asset to my day. I see the changes already within myself.
I find myself looking forward to the next quote and question Calista has lined up. The thoughts flow throughout the day, too. I feel my self-awareness becoming so much more clear. My self-esteem is absolutely going to benefit from the practices in the book!

I, personally have tried self-help journals in the past. Some are good, some are meh, some are downright awful. I can honestly say that to date, this is my favorite. At least it is for me, as I have a tendency to keep reading ahead even when I'm done with the day's prompts. I like the quotes paired with each prompt, as som
