(c/p from my review on TheStoryGraph) 4.5 Ok so let me start by saying I sure didn't expect to cry about this particular book. The last chapter really touched me, y'all. Overall this series is fun, if a little dark. I'd say it's for sure middle of the road for a middle grade novel, Sort of like a less depressing version of the Snicket books but with more magic. I am sad that we apparently aren't getting an Izzy and Ollie book because I really wanted them to get a little more character growth. I ...more

REVIEW ☆☆☆☆☆

As a parent of a middle grade reader, I can attest to his love and enthusiasm for The Fourth Suit. For him, this book was a fast paced, laugh out loud, "mommy, listen to this part" kind of book. When that is his opinion, my opinion is simply bravo.

I have not, but

So the finale is here. This one concentrates on Ridley, the most impatient, impulsive girl in the team. She is on the wheelchair, but that never hindered her in any ways.

Story revolves around Ridley where she is confronted with a set of clues which are leading towards Kalagan, the villain. But The magic misfits have decided to stay out of limelight and are not meeting up in front of the public. And Ridley who couldn't hold more, meets her old friends and start working on clues. Even

I'm so sad that this series is at an end!!! The 4th and final installment of the Magic Misfits brings the story full circle and to a satisfying conclusion. Ridley is the focus of this particular story, and we get a great deal of insight into her character and her strength. A wonderful series, that I will greatly miss! ...more

Terrific finish to this series. The team solves the biggest mystery and tighten their friendships by being vulnerable with each other.

The fourth and final book is written from Riley's point-of-view. She's worried she's too much trouble for her mother, who she's secretly afraid loves her work (writing books!) more than her.

Kalagan will use this deep seated fear against her, as he'll use all the Misfits' fears and petty jealousies against them in his final play to discredit Mr. Vernon in the kids' eyes, once and for all, and bring them over to his side.

Except he's underestimated the kids' love for Mr. Vernon and deep-rooted frie

We finished out the series with our favorite magical youth. It was a satisfying ending and a surprising one. The kids enjoyed it just as much as the others. It was interesting that we ended up reading it at the same time as my son & I were buddy-reading Flora & Ulysses since both main characters have similar mother characters with similar issues. We had fun noticing the similarities there.

Personally I've had a harder time with the Ridley character, which stands to reason because she's abrasive.

The magic Misfits are being targeted.

So who are their enemy?

Puzzle boxes are being discovered by the misfits. Someone is planning for them to discovered them. So why?

Once the misfits discovered that this is an old enemy who hold a grudge against Mr. Vernon, the truth comes out.

The story is about anger and fear.

Ridley seems angry a lot of times. Her mother is working all the time and didn't have much time for her. The new teacher is nice but seems untrustworthy.

The last book in the Magic Misfits series, and a lovely end to the story. Neil Patrick Harris has a real flair for writing books that make you feel good about yourself.

(4.5 stars) A great ending to a solid series. The 11-year-old really loved these books, and they were fun to read aloud together.

Obviously after reading the first three I had to continue into the finale. Ridley was always my favorite of the Misfits, due in no small part to her prickly attitude but fierce loyalty to her friends (tough on the outside, gooey on the inside are my favorite characters), so I was always most excited to read her POV. And for it to be the finale to the series? All the better!

I honestly don't have much to say about this one. The characters are as great as ever, the setting still idyllic, and the th

As always, I enjoy these sweet middle grade books about magic and friendship and everything else. However, I was a little disappointed about this book.
First of all, I feel like it started rather abruptly. Of course we already know the main premise and the characters since it's the fourth in the series but the first action and craziness happens on, like, the eighth page.
Also, I mean this book just had a different feel to it. Despite the fact that it was, what, 329 pages? (or maybe it was 229, I

I AM BEREFT. I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS SERIES IS OVER. I AM WEEPING. WHAT A GOOD FINALE. This was seriously the most perfect way to close out this series, and though I am absolutely heartbroken that it’s over, I really love what NPH did with these books, and I know it’s going to be like A:TLA for me in that I’m so sad the whole world won’t read it because it’s middle grade. It’s just such a fantastic story, and I think that everyone in elementary school should be reading it, and I am going to continu ...more

It was problably the best one yet! (Besides the first one) It recommend this book to anyone who loves friendship, and suspense!

This was the conclusion to The Magic Misfits series. And honestly it was solid. There were just a couple things that were a little too easy. But 3 stars is good. This instalment followed Riley who was my least favourite throughout this series but she has a massive character arc. I loved seeing her growth that alone makes this series worth the read. Towards the end we get a bit of a lesson in love and forgiveness and honestly I think this would be an amazing series for kids. It’s fun, it

"The Magic Misfits 4" by Neil Patrick Harris is such a good book. It is the 4th in a series and it is about the 6 misfits, Carter, Leila, Theo, Ridley, Izzy, and Olly. They are great magicians. Currently they are in danger because of Kalagan, who is trying to seperate the misfits and hurt Dante Vernon, Leila's dad. Each one of the books focuses on a character, so this book is mostly about Ridley. Ridley is smart but she is also witty and doesn't have such an open mind on things. She even said th ...more

THE FOURTH SUIT is a fantastically magical finale. Ridley begins with a inventor's fair which she is entering with the help of her teacher, but then something goes terribly awry. Her teacher seems to be mesmered, and the clues point to Kalagan. The Magical Misfits are secretly meeting and investigating the series of strange events that lead them to think Kalagan is not gone. They are on the search to prevent him from doing anything else dastardly.

If you like magic, friends, excited, and adventure, this is the perfect series for you or your middle-grade reader! I found this book to be absolutely captivating!

This is the first book that I have read in The Magic Misfits series, and I was SO appreciative that the book lends itself to someone jumping into the series! There’s a “Stop! Halt! Who Goes There!” at the beginning that wonderfully catches a reader up on who the characters are in the book. I loved that!

The characters are so endearing,

This is a wonderful conclusion to a terrific series. Harris has created a fascinating world with likable characters. Some authors would milk a series like this with infinite sequels of declining quality, so it's nice to end on a high note, the readers wanting more.

This is a fairly dark story, with real danger lurking for our protagonists. Some of the danger comes from finding out that adults the misfits know and trust are hiding grave secrets, but most of the danger comes from a villain who is n
I have no idea how I feel about this book. On the one hand, I'm so glad I got to know Ridley. In the earlier books, she always seemed like such a tough character. It wasn't until I read Theo's book that I understood where she fit in with the other Misfits. But I discovered that she is a crazy strong girl, who knows how to fight for herself and her friends. And I loved how she learned to allow a little compassion in her life. She figured out that life is better with her friends, even if they don' ...more
I enjoyed reading this book just as I enjoyed reading the first three. This was a fun, mysterious read. As with the first three books, this one also included magic tricks, which I felt added to the story. The most important aspect of this book is family and friendship and it's so refreshing to see those so prominently featured. The Magic Misfits: The Fourth Suit was a great ending, and tied the series together nicely. I can't wait to see what Neil Patrick Harris comes up with next! ...more
